Description of Work: The company is good. I just didn't need the wood rot repair right now. I'm going to actually get the same company to do some interior painting for me instead.

Description of Work: We initially purchased a special deal, but ended up using an existing contractor already on-site for other work instead. However, Wolak Interiors has been extremely responsive, professional, and understanding in all previous dealings.

Description of Work: Saw the add in Angied list. Payed for the deal. Emailed Mr. Wolak. He emailed me back. Emailed to make appointment for him to come to the house. He came in an did assessment of the work. He emailed the estimate. The estimate was too high. I got someone to do the job for half the charge that Mr. Wolak gave me. Now I am requesting a refund so I can use the money for other projects.

Description of Work: Met with Mr. Wolak to discuss several small projects, such as replacing a bannister, installing cabinetry in the laundry room, etc. General impression was that several of the items we were asking for were things that he would need to sub out rather than perform himself. We didn't think the tasks seemed especially complicated for a general contractor, so were somewhat surprised by this. Mr. Wolak took note of several projects and stated that he would provide estimates of time and material, and that we would hear back in a few days. We did not hear anything back, and based on this responsiveness as well as the general discussion of general contracting vs. subcontracting, we don't think Mr. Wolak is a good fit for our situation. His other reviews make it appear as if he does good work, so we aren't keen on slamming him with a D or F.

Description of Work: Be careful before you commit your cash. It been two day of inquiring and I can not get my call answered.

Description of Work: Mr. Wolak came out first to look at the job, which was to cut out some mold in a closet ceiling which developed from a leaking roof some time before that. Anthony came out to do the work which consisted of cutting out the ceiling section and replacing it. He was courteous, professional, and did a good job.

Description of Work: They removed some wallpaper and painted the kitchen.

Description of Work: Great value given the scope of the project! Accent walls done, complicated by color and dimensions. Paint colors exactly as selected and so very pleased with outcome. The skylight ceiling required repair due to leak then painting entire ceiling. Anthony thankfully was assigned to my ceiling project and being so critical of his own work, reworked the plasternrepairband design until it met his satisfaction. It was perfect!! I am recommending Wolak Interiors, rating them as Excellent.

Description of Work: Removed old wallpaper and repaired walls

Description of Work: Wolak Interiors painted the majority of our downstairs including ceilings and trim. The painting was originally scheduled for a week and ended up being two weeks. At completion, there were trim areas that were sloppy and lacked professionalism. Because of mistakes they made mixing paint, we have two different colors of paint on the wall - swlightly different but an issue none-the-less. On several occasions, I noted paint on my grass where they had apparently washed out their paint buckets. Finally, I didn't feel that they practiced adequate safety; painting around a light fixture in the foyer, they failed to use scaffolding or other safe measures to accomplish the work. I liked the owner but would not use them again.

Description of Work: Had purchased 5 hours of carpentry work for 125.00. Emailed Mark Wolak on June 18, 2012 and made 2 follow up calls. Never got a response. Sent a 2nd email on Sept 25th, and Mark finally called me back. He came out a couple of days later to look at the work, and said he would call me the next day to schedule. At that time I alson showed him some interior and exterior painting I needed to have done, for which he would bill me the going rate. I went out that day and purchased all the materials he said he would need. He never did call the next day. About 2 weeks later he called and said he had lost his paperwork about my job and I had to go over it with him again, he said he would get back in touch to have the work done. He finally did call back about a week later and left me a message a carpenter could come out the next day, however I was out of town. I sent a 3rd email 3 days ago to which he has not responded to yet. I called Angies List today for a refund which they promptly submitted. I am very surprised, as WOLAK INTERIORS has many complimentary marks, and has a grade of A, and I don't understand why he didn't make an appt to have my work done the day he came out to survey my job. Due to my experience with this company, I can not recommend them in any way. I say find another company to do your work.

Description of Work: Overall they were good however one of the workmen was verbally rude to the other workman. My husband had to go back and fix a few areas, nothing critical. They did clean up well, were punctual.

Description of Work: Asked for no money until work completed. Still holding some $ for final touch-up. I paid for materials (paint), Mark took care of the rest. I'm impressed. Performed whole house interior paint job. Two colors and all trim.

Description of Work: Mark was professional and punctual. We felt that the estimate was fair, and Mark delivered on his promise. Our job was a challenge since the home had not been taken care of properly. We had wallpaper removed from two walls, one of which had a double layer; in addition he repaired holes which had been kicked or hammered into the drywall. There would be no hesitation to use his services again, and he deserves and gets our recommendation.
