From start to finish, these folks wanted to ensure we were happy. Any issues were handled promptly and professionally. We could not be happier with the product, installation, customer service. In an age where customer service is a lost art, it was refreshing to deal with a contractor that went the extra mile to ensure we were happy.

Bill was prompt and responsive in getting the estimate done in a timely manner after I contacted him. He listed to what I wanted done and provided a good estimate that I thought was a fair price. Because he was fully booked when I contacted him, I had to wait two months until the work could be done. Once Bill and his team finally started working, everything went smoothly. The project got done on time, there was no unpleasant surprise, and I am very pleased with the finished product. I would definitely recommend Bill and his company to anyone looking to do a new driveway for their home.

I mange 56 home improvement stores in the Northeast and had the follow experience with Bill Watson the owner of VA. Beach Hardscapes replacing my mothers driveway. Good Communicator , returned calls, picked up the phone, text, clean concise quote. Bill was very pleasant to deal with. Timely, showed up for quote, deposit, started work, completed work .. all on time. Crew, arrived early, got right to work, respectful of property and people, worked very hard with attention to detail. Scope, Bill and his team executed the design & material specs as contract stated with little or no supervision or question. Quality, crew was experienced in doing things the right way, Bill had no worries when he was off the job. Value, cost verses quality... excellent.

The start date was right around the time that Bill gave us when he did the estimate. The crew arrived at the time they stated and got right to work. It was amazing that they could get all the work done in one day! The results are beautiful! We are planning to have them do our driveway in the next few months. I would highly recommend them! A great team!

At the time the work was completed by VB Hardscapes, it appeared to be quality work. However, in less than 3 years, the steps and stoop began to crumble and crack. In addition, when we tried to contact them recently about repairing the work, we received no response, even after multiple messages were left. Mistakes can be made in workmanship and we were prepared to give VB Hardscapes a second chance to correct their previous work; however, to completely ignore a client is unprofessional and disappointing. We do not recommend Virginia Beach Hardscapes as a contractor.

Exceptional service, on time every day. Cleaned up after every phase, including a huge amount of old concrete. Workers were very responsive to all my questions. I am very please with the result. I was a bit surprised by the upfront cost estimate, but given the amount of work they did, the price seemed reasonable in the end. A solid job by a great bunch of guys. I will use them again for additional work.

They were really good. They did a good clean-up. They finished pretty much on time. We get a lot of compliments on the driveway. So, we are very pleased with them. We probably would use them again in the future.

I highly recommend Bill Watson and Virginia Beach Hardscapes! Bill responded to my inquiry immediately with a date and time to provide a free estimate. Bill's estimate was considerably less than two other offers. After rereading VBH's reviews on Angie's List my husband and I decided to move forward. Bill required $100 down, half at the start of the project and the half at the end of the project. The scope of the project included removing bushes, stone boarder and a brick pathway prior to pouring the concrete. VBH is a very professional organization that I would work with in the future and recommend without hesitation. I truly believe customer satisfaction is a priority with Bill and it was exemplified when he arrived 15 minutes prior to day one to move my husband's trailer from our driveway (husband was out of town), was present during the majority of the project and explained what was going on during each phase and sent our family a thank you card with a gift card to Starbucks!

Bill Watson gave me an excellent price and a very accurate estimation of when the work would be done. He and his crew arrived when they said they would and immediately went to work. My old driveway was thicker than most. It was a whole lot more work than anyone can imagine. They made the forms so that the new concrete could be poured the next day. I called Bill and asked him to delay pouring the concrete as it was Halloween. I was afraid children would walk through the wet concrete. Bill agreed and rescheduled for Monday. Again, his crew was on time and waiting for the concrete to be delivered Monday morning. They did a wonderful job finishing, came back the next day to take out the forms and replaced soil around the new concrete. The icing came when I found a Thank You card with a Starbucks gift card under my windshield wiper! I can't say enough good things about Virginia Beach Hardscapes! One thing to note: Bill divides the driveway down the middle as well as before the apron. He pointed out that every driveway in my neighborhood was broken down the middle. He was exactly right. This way my driveway can't actually crack in the middle since it has a divider there already.

I have only great things to say about this company. They were professional, on time, well priced and cleaned up after themselves. The entire experience went smoothly. My neighbors have all come over to let me know how great the driveway looks. I needed to have several of my sprinkler heads moved and the person who did the work let me know that he is going to start recommending Virginia Beach Hardscapes to his customers. This is my first experience with Angie's list and I am a very happy customer.

We received 2 additional quotes for a new driveway. Both were more expensive, one considerably, and neither company followed up with us after their quotes were submitted. We chose Bill because he not only had the best price but he also seemed both interested in the work and in customer satisfaction as his reviews on Angie's List will attest to. We couldn't be more pleased with our new driveway and we have asked for another quote for additonal work from Virginia Beach Hardscapes. Neighbors walking by and other contractors we have had at our home have commented on what a great job Virginia Beach Hardscapes has done. Virginia Beach Hardscapes gets all A's again for quality of work, attention to detail and having a great crew that was a pleasure to work with.

Bill Watson , the owner, came to my house in December to give me a price. He was the last one of three to give me a price. He was on time and was very professional. He gave a fair price and came up with some good ideas for the patio. He said he could not do the project until February, which was find with me. I don't spend much time in my backyard in the winter time. Bill called last week and he would be putting in the patio within the week and he would call me. On Sunday(2/9) he said he would have the crew come in to get the bricks up and stack them in the driveway. The crew staked out the new patio and put up the forms for the concrete. It was a cold and wet week and would call before they poured the concrete. On Sunday(2/16), he called and said he would be there at 8:00 to get ready to pour the concrete. They were a little late , but did some changes and were ready for the truck by 9:00. . The crew worked hard getting the concrete in. They worked until 2:00 or so. Bill Watson and crew were excellent. They stayed until the patio was perfect and clean up the site. They came back the next day to wash off the patio and take up the forms. I came home from work to see a beautiful patio. The color was great and they cut some nice lines in the concrete. Overall, the experience with Virginia Beach Hardscapes was excellent. I would recommend them to anyone looking for quality work. I got a number of quotes for the work. They were by far the most reasonable in price. The driveway still looks great. They did a great job. They also came up with some ideas to add some details to the sidewalks. I get compliments all of the time.

I called Bill and I was afraid it was too small of a job to get him to come to Hampton, but he offered to come and have a look and gave me an estimate. He always called me back and gave me a great estimate, I was doing some other work in my house so I pushed it to January, and I told him to call me with a date in January. We set up a date , his crew came out to prep the patio, they were all very nice and polite and answered all my questions . Bill was also very polite and professional. They had to wait to pour till the next week due to the weather. The patio came out better than I thought. I would hire them again if I have the need and would recommend them.

The patio and sidewalk is just beautiful. Bill and crew worked hard, even worked on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. The patio is exactly what we wanted. We could not be happier! What a pleasure to have a contractor that was professional,on time, great staff , first class work. They did a great job. Having more work done. They make it easy, Tell the them what you want you get a written estimate and that what you get, how easy is tthat.

After getting several estimates for replacing our existing concrete aggregate driveway and sidewalks, we chose to go with Bill Watson and Virginia Beach Hardscapes. Our choice was primarily based on the very favorable Angie's List ratings/review, and Bill's competitive bid. When Bill came out to do the estimate we told him that we wanted a "buff" aggregate driveway to replace the original which was badly cracked; we wanted the buff tone to coordinate with the buff mortar in our brick home and the original driveway was a buff-dyed concrete. During subsequent e-mail correspondence concerning the "brown-tone" sealer that Bill said would be applied to the concrete when initially cured, we again emphasized that we wanted the driveway to have a buff finish. When work commenced, everything went smoothly. Bill's crew was punctual, they cleaned up the job site as they went along, and were very meticulous when installing the concrete forms to ensure all surfaces had the necessary slope for drainage. When the concrete was poured, though, it was the standard Portland cement grey/pea gravel mix. After the concrete retardant was washed off and the surface worked to expose the pea gravel, it became obvious that we were not going to have a buff-toned finish. I asked the owner of the concrete supplier to take a look at the job and he said the contractor should have requested a buff dye, such as "Miami Buff," be added to the concrete mix, which he said is standard practice when a buff finish is desired. The buff dyed mix also helps compensate for irregularities in the finish, i.e., blotches in the aggregate finish where more concrete is showing than pea gravel. All in all Bill and his crew did a good job; the tool joint joint and expansion joints were neatly spaced and in the right places, and the sloping allows for rain runoff without any puddles forming. Bill even agreed to replace/redo one the sidewalks because the exposed aggregate didn't come out quite right. And, as I mentioned before, the crew kept the job site neat and cleaned up at the end of each day. Although we frequently receive compliments on our new driveway, it just isn't the color we had in mind, nor the one we had specified.

Bill and his team were very professional in every phase of the work provided. Bill was helpful up-front, provided us ideas for redesigning our walkways and helped us understand their price implications. Once we decided what we wanted, his price quote was very competetitive compared with other estimates I'd received. His team was polite, friendly and very attentive to detail in finishing the project. They were great! They did it over the span of four days. One day was rained out so it took three days. They were responsive, professional, and tremendous. I was able to use the Angie's List coupon. They sent me a gift after the work was complete. I dealt directly with the owner Bill Watson, such a great guy.

Love, love, love this company. They did an outstanding job! The estimate was more then fair and after getting several, they were the best price. Bill kept in contact as far as when the job would start and how things would go. His crew was punctual on framing day. They dug up the yard and framed out the driveway in a timely manner and even worked through a couple downpours to get it done. Due to bad weather it took longer then expected to get it poured but first chance of nice weather Bill and his guys were pouring the concrete. They were done in less then 4 hrs and left everything looking like it did before they got here. They even went as far as to sweep the street in front of the house! We are thrilled with the new driveway ! It is beautiful and well done. The best thing about Virginia Beach Hardscapes is that they treated us well. Sometimes because we live in Portsmouth in a small house we get treated like it is not worth some contractors time. Not Bill Watson and his crew.
