Technician arrived on time and was very professional. They have always come out in a timely matter. Would recommend them to anyone looking for pest service.

Fine for a little while, but the bugs were back within 2 months.

I purchased their Big Deal coupon. I had no problems with them and I have not seen termites since the past year. I do not remember disliking anything about the service. I am assuming they came out fairly quickly when I called and set up the appointment. I am going to call them again.

I was very pleased with the company's services. The company responded promptly in making an appointment to come out to our home. The technician arrived on time and did a thoroughly job of spraying inside and outside. I was particularly impressed when the technician took the time to clean and remove remnants of spiders and wasp nests from the brick mortar of our home and spray the area thoroughly. I would highly recommend using the company's services and would definitely use the company again.

On time...even follow-up problems were addressed. I would give them my strongest recommendation.

Service and product are great. My only problem is the apparent lack of communication between the service techs and their office admin. The very first visit in December the contract had to be written 3 times to get it right. First follow up visit in March the technician showed up unannounced and claimed that office made appointment with my wife... that did not happen, Prior to the most recent visit in June I received 3 calls from 3 different people wanting to make an appointment even though it was confirmed on the first call... very disorganized. The actual service and treatment are very good; have hardly seen a bug inside the house all year!!

The service was excellent. They arrived on time and completed the job in about 3 hours, Then they CLEANED UP COMPLETELY AND LEFT.

Ants, roaches, etc.... had been an issue in the past but we have not had a problem since starting the service. They are considerate and careful employees. They are thoughtful about my garden and areas where my young children and pets play in choosing which of their methods to use. The dispatcher calls to set up the quarterly appointment so I don't have to remember to do it.

Universal Pest & Termite Inc. I purchased a $54 general treatment. That was fine. It's been a while since. I used them but it was satisfactory. It was okay. I wasn't overly impressed by them, but it was alright.

We have received one quarterly treatment and one followup treatment about two weeks later so far. The exterminator both times (two different men) was very attentive to our needs. In addition, he identified bugs that we had kept in a ziploc bag and told us how he would treat for them. We had a sudden big problem with ants, which was the main reason we signed up. The second exterminator did a more extensive and comprehensive approach than the first one, and we have not seen an ant inside the house since the second treatment. I recommend other Angie's List customers to consider using Universal Pest for their homes. Keep in mind that you need to be specific about what is bugging you (pun intended), so that the exterminator can target that bug.

Upon trying to renew the contract, I was informed that the work I had paid for had not been done. In that case, my house has not been covered for termite protection. I have not been able to get anyone to take this seriously and have contacted managers at least 15 times. In addition to the initial termite coverage, I was up sold an additional pest coverage. I have a signed contract showing the original appointment as well as the additional pest service. I had purchased an Angie's List coupon and handed it to them upon arrival. They said the termite protection plan for 240 was still an outstanding balance. My guess is they failed to redeem the coupon on their end. In addition, I did have a roof rat in my attic which needed to be removed. They removed it for 700 dollars and I then I had additional problems a few months later. The wires they placed in the downspout kept coming out and could hear something in my walls. I could not get anyone to call me back on this matter as well.

They were excellent! They showed up right away and they were friendly and accommodating. The treatment included the inside and outside of my house, but he wasn't able to do the inside due to ongoing renovations. He agreed to come back at a later time and do the work then. I was pleased with the service and would highly recommend them!

They arrive when they say they will and will come back if necessary.

My experience to them was very good. I just paid the price for the deal and there is no extra charges. I actually had to leave and they got here a little bit later, they have given me a time frame but they are late until I had to leave so they agreed to come back at any time and finish the job which they did and it was very nice. They were very helpful and I would definitely use them again.

Good job. They will come back to retreat at no charge if I see any bugs in between treatments. That has only happened once.

I had the treatment and then I moved, so I don't know how effective the treatment was. I can tell you, in terms of responding to the call and coming out and doing the treatment, that was excellent.

On 15 April 2013 my entrance hall and living room was full of swarming termites. Pursuant to my call, two employees showed up to inspect my complaint. They informed me that the termites were coming from inside my hallway wall, and made an appointment for the next day to re-treat. He proceeded to drill holes in the wall and baseboards. Big surprise: one of the baseboards was totally eaten up by the termites and I was told by the technician that the previous treatment had not been done correctly or thoroughly. A phone call to the service manager, Doug Taylor, went unanswered. After numerous calls I finally got to speak to Doug Taylor who told me he never got my messages. He came to my house to take a look at the damage and said that they would send another technician to drill in the floor and inject more poison and replace the baseboard. The tech came, did the job and took the old decayed baseboard with him to find a replacement. And then the waiting started!!! Luckily I had gotten Doug's cell phone number. Every single time, I had to initiate the call to find out the progress of the search for the baseboard. It is a very unique baseboard, but I personally found it at Kempsville Lumber, so I don't understand why they could not. I was put off and off by Doug Taylor until I was finally told they had found the baseboard. Three weeks later I had to call again and Dough words were "what, they did not come to finish the job?" Any Service Manager worth his salt should know what his people are up to. We then made another appointment to have the baseboard installed. This one time Doug called to reschedule, he did not have enough people! The date was set for May 30. That morning a handyman shows up, takes a look at my existing baseboard and states that this is not the baseboard he has. He was told to go to Home Depot THAT SAME MORNING to buy a baseboard, as it seems the one they had for me was stolen (yea!). Obviously, Home Depot does not carry the baseboard that matches the rest of my house. I cannot understand what Mr. Taylor was thinking. He talked to me a day earlier and was well aware that they did not have the baseboard. Did he think that after all this time I would be happy with just about anything? I have l lived with a torn up wall, holes in the floor and a 10 ft trim with nails leaning against my living room wall. He never called to apologize or explain, he left this poor handyman take the brunt of my anger and we were unable to reach him. This company is the epitome of an inferior business and its Service Manager a lousy, cowardly employee. I wish I had done my research and read the reviews at Angie's before hiring this company, even though I don't understand why they receive an "A" rating. Their large and expensive jobs all have received bad ratings. Maybe they should stick with treating for ants and spiders. I am also very sorry to have recommended them to a friend, who has just had a full termite treatment performed. I am now very leery of their six months inspections, and possible future infestation. Therefore I will hire another pest control company to re-check my house for infestation.

Treated for termites which they gave us the old "bait and switch" which we fell for and bought. Bought the contract that kills ants, roaches,rats also. Can't get them to come back and they set traps for rats. I was told just give them a call and they would come right out and remove anything (rats) caught in the traps right away. Well, I guess they caught something in a trap under my kitchen because My whole kitchen smells like death . I called and they said they will TRY to get the tech to give me a call sometime maybe next week. I won't be able to stand to eat or cook in my kitchen! Not a good experience at all so far! Very very poor responsiveness. Got hung up (accidently I guess) on a couple of times too :(

Universal Pest & Termite is probably the cheapest company locally. However, you might say you get what you pay for. The techs seemed less experienced and as a result I had to have repeated service calls during my yearly agreement. After my agreement expired, I switched to another local Pest Control Company and after two visits my house is ant free and my wife and I are much happier. I'm paying a bit more but getting the Pest Control service I was seeking.

BEWARE!!!!! YOU KNOW HOW HEY SAY YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! I WOULD NEVER USE NOR REFER THIS COMPANY TO ANYBODY I KNOW! TTHE TECHNICIAN WAS NICE BUT THE COMPANY IS SO CHEAP THEY WILL BARELY DO THE BARE MINIMUM TO FIX YOUR PROBLEM. TRY TO CANCEL AND THEY WILL TELL YOU IT IS THEN SEND PEOPLE TO YOUR HOUSE WHO CALL IN AND CONFIRM ITS CANCELLED ONLY TO DO A SURPRISE SPRAY AT YOUR PROPERTY THEN THREATEN TO SUE YOU...PLEASE SAVE YOUSELF TIME ND MONEY GO WITH TERMINIX OR H*** ANY COMPANY BESIDES THIS ONE...PLEASE.

Angie had a special on a bug spraying, so I bought the special. The man from the company that came to spray was very unprofessional and informative. I would definitely use this company again.

They charge me quarterly. They are courteous and they are punctual. They always ask if I have an issue or if there was anything going on. They ask if I have seen droppings, this or that. They go up on my attic and check on the outside of the house. They have answered a lot of questions I have had. I have woods behind us and then I have 2 dogs. I am always really particular about rats, mice and whatever else that can get into my attic. I really had them check my attic outside a bit. I don’t know what everybody else is charging. I am satisfied with the quality of the work. I use them all the time.

We used them through the big deal and they provided absolutely fantastic service. We liked the promptness of service; they followed the exact schedule they said they would follow and the technician Mike came back and had no problems whatsoever. We have had no problems since then.

Very nice, professional worker. All areas were treated. My only question was that when I finished I was asked for payment of $89 so I explained that I had already used an Angie's List deal for payment. That was not the issue, the issue was to me it seemed that the "deal" was the same price as a regular treatment. The worker did not know I had pre-purchased a deal and so he assumed I was going to pay and it happened to be the same price as the "deal". It just made me think I didn't actually get a deal. I didn't question it, it was over and done.

The ONLY professional thing this company did was give me my money back. The inspector/sales rep (Wayne) was completely dishonest. I was put in a tough spot to get the work done before holidays and my wedding and I regret jumping the gun and not getting other estimates. I picked Universal because of their high reviews on this site (bad idea). I know for a fact that Wayne lied to me about mold and fungus issues under my house and probably lied about other issues as well. The quality control rep (don't remember name) was extremely hard to get a hold of and highly unreliable once I could get a hold of him. Two weeks after service was done my garage was filled with more droppings from rodents. Eventaully I asked for a return on the pest portion which the owner granted. If you are going to use this company be VERY skeptical of their recommendations on what needs to be done. I would not recommend or use this company in the future.
