it was there other than Overall it was fast, well done and I was quite happy with the result. I rubbed in some stain to blend the coloration myself, then sanded the whole area and refinished. You wouldn't know it was there other than the straight ends of the new flooring strips, but you have to look close to notice. The price would have been even less if I had found an old bundle of redwood flooring in the garage before I had this done, heh heh. But I didn't, so he had to find some at the shop and put them in, which added a couple hundred. I'm not complaining, I just didn't know I had some material in the garage. Excellent work.

We called Mr. Stafford and set up an appointment. He worked with us on the timing and was prompt once we set up the day and time. We were impressed with his knowledge of how to re-configure our appliances to make our kitchen more efficient and flow better. Once we approved the design they set us up to look at tiles and backsplashes and we found the process much less stressful than we thought it was going to be. The entire process went very well and we are very happy with the overall job. Mr. Stafford showed us ways to lower some of the expense while still achieving the look we wanted. It was nice to have a contractor we could trust from start to finish and guided us through the process.

Stafford kept a calendar that included start and finish dates for each aspect of the project. He was able to stick to the schedule throughout the entire project, with few minor alterations. There were no surprises, and the job was finished on time. He even returned to personally install a ceiling fan that wasn't working properly.

Their services are fabulous and they are doing a fantastic job. They are constantly in contact with me letting me know about the services being done.

The end result was exactly what I was looking for. Tom Stafford gave me a detailed estimate including materials list and schedule. There were no surprises. He gave detailed instructions to his workers and checked their progress frequently. The job was done in short order. I plan to use Stafford and Son for my next house renovation.

Called to set up initial meeting for renovation bid. He informed me that he would be on vacation the week that we were set to close on the house and that he may not be able to start on time with the project. Then, called again to let me know that he really felt like he wasn't going to be able to devote the man hours to the project to get us in the house in our projected time frame and that he apologized and to please call him if we needed him in the future or if our closing got pushed back. I really appreciated the communication and the honesty.

Mr Stafford Jr. responded to my request for an initial meeting concerning a home addition. He came on-time, looked at the site and discussed options. The price per square foot figures he mentioned were significantly higher than others I had gotten from other contractors. I told him that I would still like to get more details on his plan for the job. Although he said he would work something up, I never heard from him again

A truly hassle free remodel experience. Tom Jr. was exceptional from the early quote/bid phase until final completion of our project. Tom arrived at our home every morning at 8:00 am to discuss what was to take place that day and his subcontractors would always arrive within the next fifteen minutes (if not already there). The subcontractors were courteous, performed quality work and cleaned up after themselves daily. Tom acted as a consultant on several design issues and was a great sounding board on any ideas we had. He was as responsive as homeowner could want and I cannot say enough positive things about our experience. I highly, highly recommend him.

We did not see the house until it was finished so by that time everything was already in place.Overall the house is great, but there have been a few minor hiccups: celing fan in the family room with a 20 ft ceiling did not come with a remote control, but the celing fan in the MBR has a remote control. That is another expense we have to incur as the only speed the family room fan operateson is FAST!! Back door to the deck was installed without painting it - reported to builder and still waiting on a remedy. In the builder's defense, the door looked like it had been painted as it is white. Several interior doors are too low to the floor making it difficult to open the doors if there is a runner or throw rug in front of it. That will be added to the list to be corrected at the one year point.

Called us back within reasonable amount of time to schedule a time to come out and review what we were interested in having completed. He came when promised. Gave us good feedback on his thoughts on what we desired. He wanted to make sure he could do what we wanted without it looking like he was there at all. He called us back around a week later and told us he was unable to take a job this small. He gave us some tips and suggestions. I would consider him for larger projects as he seemed to care about what he does and the quality of it.

After talking with several different contractors with several different ideas, we decided to go with Stafford and Son on our master bathroom remodel. Tom Jr supervised the job on a daily basis and let us know exactly what would be happening when. He worked within our budget and discussed different ways to stay within the budget without losing the look we wanted. Every person who came into the house was professional and courteous. Even though we were not at home most days, it was obvious that each crew worked hard every day and did an outstanding job. The tile guys were amazing. It was very obvious they took a lot of pride in their work-as they should have. After several days of tiling, the shower and floor looked beautiful! On a Friday afternoon they sealed the travertine. Through no fault of their own, the sealant was the wrong one. It gave the tile a wet look and completely changed the look of the room. We hoped that the sealant would dry and go back to the natural look but by Sat morning it was obvious that it wasn't going to happen. Dwayne (one of the tilers) came in Saturday and worked all day removing and adding individual tiles to try to improve the look of the shower but to no avail. Tom Jr came over Sunday morning, took one look at the tile, and said he would tear out the entire shower and start again. No questions asked. He simply said that it was no longer the look we had asked for. He went Monday morning and ordered all new tile. As soon as the new tile came in they were back and spent one day completely removing all the sealed tile and backerboard. For the next two and a half days, they put the new tile in. I don't know how but somehow the second tile job looked even better than the first! Absolutely beautiful! We could not be more pleased with everyone associated with this company. On a personal note, my husband was scheduled to deploy within days of our scheduled completion date. Tom Jr and everyone went above and beyond to make sure he saw the new bathroom before he deployed. Even with the tile setback, they all worked hard and rearranged their scheduling to make sure they met the completion date and my husband got to see the finished job. We have one more bathroom and a kitchen that we will be remodeling and I would never consider using anyone but Stafford and Son. I know they will do a quality job at a very reasonable price. If something unexpected happens I know they will not simply look for an excuse or try to blame someone else, they will work to fix the issue. Integrity is important to this company and they work to maintain a strong impressive reputation. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking to update or remodel.

After an extensive search we chose Stafford and Sons for a multi-bathroom renovation project in an older home. The design of the project was to maintain some of the vintage aspects of the building while updating to more modern infrastructure. We had an emotional tie to the home which added an additional challenge. Tom and his teams were great partners in getting the project completed. This was the 3rd house we have renovated one of them in a different city so we were familiar with a lot of the challenges of working with contractors and subs. We were not living in the house during the project; a lot of the communication had to be done remotely. Tom was, is, an excellent businessman and contractor. He is prompt, his staff was trustworthy, he came up with ideas that made the project better and he went the extra mile to make sure the outcome was good. The project took a month more than quoted, but that was because we specified something where the project was waiting on the supplier. Having the materials and components together before starting the project makes it go much faster. If you have specific design ideas or materials Tom and his team will work with you to incorporate them. Quality of the work was between an A and B. The need for the contractors to finish a project when they had multiple projects sometimes led to decisions made weren't to our standards. Tom worked with us on solutions. Quality of his subcontractors was excellent: Tiling and masonry definitely an A ; in fact they were so good that it gave us confidence in another renovation that will further improve the house. Tom's trustworthiness cannot be underestimated. We opened our home to him and his team and they took good care of it, keeping it secure during the process. As with any project of this size and duration, there were a few bumps along the way, but Tom is the kind of contractor who minimizes challenges to make sure the project is completed. We have already recommended him to friends. We would definitely work with him again.

Tom Stafford Jr. was extremely responsive during our initial phone conversation and continued to be so until the last detail was completed in our remodel. He and his team were nothing short of professional, meticulous, timely, and trustworthy. He completely remodeled our kitchen, removed a load- bearing wall on the first floor, installed hardwood throughout the first floor, and enlarged and remodeled our master bathroom. Tom found quite a few problems in the existing framing, duct work, plumbing, etc., but he and his guys came up with a fix for every one of them. He was conscious of our budget at all times and stayed within (or below) budget even with all of the problems that arose due to the original build. His team left my house immaculate every day; some of the guys would even bring in my trash cans after the truck left! Tom was at the house every day and checked in with me by phone with every change in the schedule. He picked up a screwdriver or cleaning rag any time he saw a fine detail that needed adjustment. I cannot recommend this company highly enough.

Excellent! Gave them the keys to the condo, kept in touch, sent pictures of progress, performed clean up, performed walk through, minor touch ups, moved in. Would definitely use Stafford again!

Stafford and Son did an outstanding job and I was very pleased with my new master bathroom. They were very professional, reasonably priced, utilized very qualified contractors, utilized top of line materials and wanted me to be very satisfied with my new bathroom. They were very good at monitoring my project on a daily basis and followed through upon by fixing any concerns that occurred upon completion. I was very comfortable and confident that they had my best interest in mind throughout the project. They did a great job and took great care of my home. All of my friends and neighbors are commenting on how beautiful my bathroom looks and they outstanding craftsmanship! They are a great company to work with and it is my pleasure to recommend Stafford and Son to anyone that is looking for a top notch contractor.

Extremely well. We bought a very old 1909 home. This was not an easy renovation. It went very smoothly. There are 2 Toms. I worked with the younger one. I could not have asked for a more polite and responsive contractor. I interviewed several, and am SO happy that I went with Stafford and Sons. Extremely professional. Workmanship is fantastic. No mistakes. I promise that you will be happy if you work with him. I was initially worried about the cost, but he saved me money in countless ways. Did NOT go over budget. The project lasted longer than anticipated, but that was largely due to changes that my wife and I requested in the midst of the project.

Had a property that suffered storm damage from Isabel. The water damaged happened as an another roofer (less than a year ago), roofed the home, but did not do a good job.. the storm came the water found it's way in... the water settled in the bedroom ceiling and the ceiling fell in. A REAL MESS! ETC. I I found Stafford & Son Builders on Angie's List.. THANK THE LORD! They fixed everything.. NO fuss, NO problems. I called.. Tom got to the property quickly.. we got the estimate.. the work got done! In just a matter less than 2 weeks! Amazingly prompt. These guys are the BEST! Did not have to "babysit" .. Got started and finished on TIME! NO delays. Good to their word and very nice. TRUSTWORTHY! HONEST! I will be calling them again.

Requested contact through Angie's List. Received a call from one of the Stafford's the same day. I described the work to be done. When we tried to schedule a meeting at my home, he then went into a disertation about baby sitting and other personal scheduling conflicts. He stated he'd call me back on Friday, April 1 which he never did. My opinion is they are selective on what jobs they take which I guess is their perogative.

Tom Stafford Jr. was very attentive from the first meeting and listened to our ideas and goals. Tom's estimate was the most realistic and the most detailed of the three we got. Tom and his team were always on time, respectful and curtious. This was a major project that lasted several months and Tom always informed us of where we were in the time-line and what to expect. We both work and Tom made sure he was on site anytime there was inside work being done. We made some alterations during the project and Tom was able to work with us to make them all happen. Every individual project was completed on-time and within budget. Tom made follow-up visits and calls well after the project completion ensuring we were satisfied. Stafford and Son hires the best craftsment and uses top of the line materials. Hats off to Stafford and Son on an outstanding job.
