I took the car 2 weeks ago to have it fixed so that I could sell it. They took the engine mounts off of the car as they needed replaced. They said they looked at the junk yard and online for the part, but couldn't find it a week and a half later. My son, who is a certified automotive technician but is currently injured and can't work, went to the shop and told them that they could find the part at the local part store. They wanted to get it at a junk yard so I offered to go to the part store, order it, and deliver it to them. I am picking up the part today to take to them, but when I call no one is at the shop. I had a buyer that offered me $500 extra if I would just get the car fixed and now have lost this deal because it is taking so long. I just want my car back now so that hopefully I can find a seller.

Response from R J MAX
Our company has been trying to reach member to resolve issue without prevail. We have been in contact with member since February 27, 2013. On this date member was informed along with her son, that the work on car was completed to the best of our abilities due to other underlying issues. Member was upset that her bill was $498.41 and cried to us that she couldn’t afford bill so our company cut the bill to $200.00 still with no pick up of vehicle. Member brought her vehicle in around the 19th of February. She complained of a noise and rattle in car. We then put car on lift. We found flex plate was missing all but one bolt. We replaced all bolts and also called member to explain we had found that the motor mounts on vehicle were bad. Later investigating issue further realized that the mounts were installed upside down and the K-frame was not correct. When our mechanics tried placing the OEM parts, we had taken off of same year and model car, the parts didn’t fit correct. When explaining this to member and her son they then explained, “Oh well we forgot to tell you, the car had been in an accident, and had a new motor put in it.” They then explained they knew something was funny at the other shop. After hours of effortless struggle we managed to resecure the mounts to K-frame. Our shop also changed both of her sun visors out and filled all the vehicles fluids and tire pressure. Member was contacted on February 27, 2013, that her vehicle was ready to pick up and the amount of bill. She then stated that she became ill and could not make it to shop. On March 1st, we called member to check in on how she was feeling and to see if she could pick up her car. Member then started becoming irate and complaining that bill was too much and she was not going to pay us. We then told member that we would settle on $200.00 just as long as she could/would pick her vehicle up. We are now going on two weeks of storing her vehicle and she still has not picked up. Our company has a storage policy, that after 3 days of work being completed a fee of $25 a day will be applied. As of today March 15, 2013, member’s bill would have been at a total of $698.41, However our company is willing to settle with member for a total of $200.00, as long as she comes and gets her car from the shop. Member was supposed to get a taxi to our company today and pick up the vehicle. As of 3pm, today, she still has not shown to pick up vehicle or called to let us know what is happening. As the Manager here, I, feel as if member was trying to take advantage of the fact that the shop owner had just had a massive heart attack and she is trying to have someone fix her vehicle for free.
