+ -1 moreThey were on time, professional and fast! The clean/inspect cost was $69.00. When they went up on roof they found that my handyman had put tar on crown (fire hazard) and mortar joints were missing causing damage inside the firebox. They took pictures to show me. We made an appointment for the next day, they were done in about a half hour. I could see the difference from the ground. VERY impressed. The cost was $550.00, but I got a 20% discount, so the cost was $440.00. Good Job Precision.

+ -1 moreWe called Precision to get a second quote and we're glad we did. The first provider wanted to resurface the entire chimney for $3K. The gentlemen from Precision came to do the work, which is fairly difficult, and then returned to repair part of the damper that was damaged during the job. Very professional and ethical team. I would recommend them over our first quote provider.

He also told that there were other things I might consider doing to the fire place but that was not something that I had to have done before I could use it. He thought that I might be happy if I had got it. I appreciated the fact that he did go ahead and do it because I told him that he had to do it urgently. He was courteous. I actually kind of liked him. I figured I use him again. The price was exactly as advertised. I had mentioned to him that I was on Angie’s List and he told me that it was the same price. I don’t think it was that much of a discount. It was Angie’s List and it was the price that was listed for anyway. I thought he did good quality work. He cleaned up after himself. He didn’t have a problem. Responsiveness was really good.
Description of Work: I used Precision Chimney Cleaners because I had a fire in the setback of the chimney.

+ 2 moreDale, Eddie, "Porkchop" and the rest of the guys from Precision Chimney/Remodeling were a joy to deal with from start to finish. I've dubbed them our construction supermen. Dale and the guys came out and worked with us to get the results we wanted in the most economical fashion. They were always on time if not early. What I loved most about them is that they over communicated with us. Letting us know every step of the job what they were doing, why and what all our options were. The experience was a fully collaborative process. The other statement that stood out in my mind was Dale's payment process. He takes a deposit at the beginning of the job and then says: I'll collect the balance only when you are 100% satisfied. Needless to say, we paid them every time at the conclusion of the job because we were 1000% satisfied. I highly recommend Dale and Precision Chimney to anyone in Hampton Roads. We are grateful to them for everything.

+ 1 moreWow, this is the best, quickest, and most professional service you can ask for.... Precision Chimney came out within about a hour after we contacted them early Saturday morning. We had a fly problem we noticed coming from the chimney. Once Precision arrived they quickly located a dead squirrel in the chimney, removed it, fixed the cap at the top so no more squirrels could fall down the chimney again, and cleared out the chimney all within about 30 minutes. Wow, now I get to enjoy the rest of my Saturday because of the great job done by Precision. Man you can't beat the price only 149* 30% off= 105. I have used other chimney services in the past but I will not make that mistake again. Precision is the chimney service I will use as long as I am a homeowner. GREAT JOB and I highly recommend them to anyone.

Most important he gave us a break AND discovered an additional problem, which he added to the service at no extra charge. He went out of his way to handle it. I am an out of state owner and this was the best experience for us as John took pictures and communicated with us the whole time. I would highly recommend this company, even if we had not gotten a break we got the best deal with his company. Thanks again John.

+ 0 moreThis actually covers two separate visits they were only a few days apart. I contacted Precision about doing a sweep and inspection. I had a 30% off coupon from Angie's List. While talking with their scheduler I mentioned the coupon and she pointed out that there current special would cost less. The techs came out and performed admirably, quick, thorough and clean all told less then 20 minutes. They showed me were some cracks in the mortar around the chimney cap were allowing water into the fireplace. I called to schedule the repair and then used the 30% off coupon. The techs came and fixed the mortar in about 1/2 an hour. I really like these guys.

+ 0 moreCalled the company fter seeing name in angie's magazine, recognized it was a family business, and decided to make appt and came out within week. Indicated on service report that lew PMP crown 10 yr warrenty would cost $375, parge coarses to be solid 165.00per courses x2 coarses; 2 holes in smoke chamber @ no charge; reseal flashing for 100.00 amounting to 804.00. After discount, costs was 723.00. I did not get any pictures of work before and after job was completed. I did not get an estimate from another company at that time and I know I should have gotten at least three for cost of repairs before starting each project. They were called out after hurricane sandy to fix leak on chimney where concrete had eroded. This was covered under warranty.
Description of Work: Precision service report said I had crown was severely cracked and leaking causing damage to the systems, also corbel courses are gapped and leaking.

Description of Work: I purchased a groupon for a chimney clean service. When the rep arrived for my appointment he inspected my chimney first and informed me that there were some repairs needed which were urgent due to safety reasons. He gave me a written estimate and let me know that I could use my groupon towards the repairs but there was no need for cleaning if it was going to be repaired. Since I had never done chimney repairs I chose to get some other estimates before proceeding. I received 2 other estimates that were significantly less so I decided with another company.

+ 0 moreThey gave me a quote, and then, they came back and it was more. I think because they found out I had Angie’s, so, that is really hard for me to say. I never had that kind of work. It was actually a work on my mother’s chimney because I never had a chimney myself, so, I do not know if the price was too much or not. I do not know if I would use them again in the future. The money thing kind of catches me on a little bit.

Description of Work: We originally called Precision Chimney for a price quote on a chimney sweep. When they came out to perform the chimney sweep (which was superb), it was discovered that our chimney cap/chase cover was faulty and needing replaced. Dale gave us an incredible deal on a new chimney cap/chase cover and it was professionally installed two days later. The cap, which is stainless, looks great and has a lifetime warranty. That next week when our home was undergoing some major repairs, we learned that in order to repair the wall around our fireplace, the fireplace would need to be removed. One issue that we ran into when attempting to remover the fireplace for the wall repairs, was that we learned that our fireplace was so old that they no longer manufactured parts for it. Again, Dale stepped up to the plate and offered us a great deal on a new fireplace. Less than a week later, we had a beautiful new fireplace for our family room. It was properly installed and we look forward to using it for years to come. Not long after having the fireplace replaced, hurricane Sandy blew through Virginia Beach. At 10 p.m., at the height of the storm, we realized that we had a major leak in our roof. I called Dale and he was out to our home not 30 minutes later. He and my neighbor climbed up onto our roof in hurricane force winds to attemot to repair the leak. Dale successfuly did a temporary repair so that we could make it through the storm without any further water damage. We plan on him coming out this week to make permanent repairs to our roof. We have no doubt that his uality of work will be outstanding and that we will have no further issues with our roof. What's better is that all of Precision's work is guranteed for 5 years! As you have probably already gathered from what I have written thus far, we have been completely 100% satisfied with everything that Precision has donw for us. They are honest, hard-working, trustworthy, and truly care about their customers - not to mention the fact that their inspections and repairs are top notch. Since moving to this area nearly 5 years ago, we have had a really bad run with dishonest repair men and service contractors. Precision Chimney is one of those companies that is hard to come by in today's society. They are the epitome of how every business in America should operate! Thank you so much for everything that you have done to ensure that our home is in perfect working order! We will continue to be loyal customers and will share your name wih everyone whom we come across needing chimney/roofing service! THANK YOU!

Description of Work: I used precision with online coupon......and found the the service to be very good. The no mess guarantee was just that...no mess... They explained the needed repairs in great detail and the price was 150 or so less than the other 2 estimates that I got. Inspection was reasonably priced after which they provided a complete assessment as to what was required to 1) make chimney operational, 2) add missing cap & damper system. They were able to get us on their schedule within days & finish the job in two short visits. They were prompt, professional, polite, forthright & cleaned up after themselves.

+ -1 moreI used a special email offer to get my chimney cleaned. That part was satisfactory. However, they found a lot of problems and offered to fix them, as they had several hours to the next appointment. I found that odd, as it had taken awhile to get an appointment because they were so booked up. They ended up fixing something that I was told was complex. What they did was basically caulk a few cracks. It took 20 minutes and cost $189. When I complained, nothing was done - they told me that was the going rate.
