POOLS BY BAXTER

We contacted Pools by Baxter to install an in ground pool in 2007. The person quoted us a price and dates to install the pool. They were very quick to come out and dig a giant hole in our yard, but it sat there for several weeks before any further work was done. We had surprise costs come up that were not discussed fully (ground water, etc). The salesperson recommended against a saltwater pool, because it "eats away" at the pool. We later realized the reason they recommend against this is because they want you to spend $1,000 or more a season for chemicals. They also recommended against the pool cover we wanted (the strong cover that you can walk across), and we realized that was because they sell you a pool cover that is impossible to install, so you get frustrated enough to call them and pay them to install it for you. The pool did not pass inspection in June because Pools by Baxter neglected to install the necessary electrical outlet within 20 feet of the pool perimeter.

I needed a very dirty pool cleaned and maintained. I am a real estate broker who sells bank repos, some of which have neglected swimming pools I stopped by and spoke with a young lady there named Jennifer. I explained my situation and told her it was crucial that I get a estimate to clean and maintain the pool on a regular basis. I had to get this into an asset manager as quickly as possible. She gave me her business card and told me that would not be a problem, however it would take until the following week on Thursday before they could get out there. The following week on Wednesday I called to confirm they were going out to the property and get that estimate for me. Jennifer informed me this week or week and a half later that they would not be able to do that kind of service. I asked why she did not bother to contact me and let me know that since I made it clear that it was imperative I get this estimate. She informed me she gave my card to her boss and just doesn't know what happened from there. Please reach your own conclusion regarding service.

Our pool is fabulous. They did a great job on it. They were priced fairly, and they were able to meet the deadline we had agreed upon. I really liked that they stuck to their original estimate. They even included a diving board. Our pool has a vinyl lining, and we haven t had any problems with the up keep of the pool, which makes it nice.

Our pool is 40x20. They would come out to our home and open and close the pool. They would blow the water out on the lines, take the filter apart and clean it and drain the pool. The service person was excellent, but we were not real happy with the office people.
