Paul Does It All

Mark Wolak from Wolak Interiors provided an itemized quote (reasonably priced) and assigned Paul Basiak to do the renovations. Paul is was very professional. He met me at a hardware store to select supplies and started work on the following Monday. He and his helpers renovated both rooms at one time and completed the job in less than 2 and a half weeks. He did a terrific job. I will definitely hire them for future renovation needs and will recommend them to my friends.

I hired Paul Basiak to repair my bathroom walls due to water damage and finish the bathroom. The scope of work was to replace all damaged wall studs, insulate, sheet rock walls, install tub, install shower and floor tile, install molding, repair wall; ready to use. The initially estimated time and price was acceptable, but the actuals were much greater. The following is a brief list of the major issues we had with him. a. I was quoted 3 days and it took in total 3 weeks. He cancelled last minute on me at least 6 times after I had to leave work early. b. Even after completion I had to call him back over 3 additional times due to leaks and incomplete work c. left toilet and shower drainage pipes open without telling us, so we shouldn?t have used the toilets and showers, but were not warned, so our laundry room flooded significantly. I had to rush to home depot to seal up the drains myself at 8:30 pm so we could use water in the house. d. Used his saw in the house and had dust everywhere, by the time I figured out he was doing it the upstairs was a dust bowle. Broke the drainage connection for the toilet. By the time I figured it out he was gone for the day, my laundry room was flooded again and I ran to home depot again so we could use the water in the house. f. Broke the drain system in the other bathroom and said he never touched it, so I repaired it myself g. Left all trash and debris in my front yard every day and I ended up taking it to the dump when I had become fed up with his work. h. Left major scratches the down hallway walls, sink cabinet doors, and the tub. i. When he removed the toilet he never drained the water from it and it leaked all over the carpet. j. Around the window in the shower it leaked because he forgot to caulk around and in the joints k. He cracked the tile near the spout and just left it because it was hard to spot upon inspection. I am talking thumb size. l. Never installed a threshold and tried to sell me one and charge me more money at the end for him to install it m. Only replaced half the molding and had to be called back to replace all of the molding n. Measurements were always incorrect, so when I was purchasing material I constantly had to go get more or he just wouldn?t finish the work, since ?I didn?t get enough?. o. Left early constantly p. Left cigarette butts in the yard
