+ -1 moreFolks should be concerned with Angi reviews as I wrote one for this company about 7 weeks ago and now it's not visable. Guess Angi is not concerned about customer reviews, as it appears a company can have them taken down. Regardless, I paid this company to come and evaluate a problem wiht my AC. They found the problem and identified the solution. The next day they simply said they were too busy to help me and said to bad. I had to pay another company to come re-evaluate and fix the system.

+ -1 moreOur AC went out and this time we could not put a band-aid on the problem as we had been doing for years with our HVAC system. Mike Straddeck and team to the rescue! They sent out two techs just to be certain that it was not a problem that could be fixed without having to completely replace the unit. (Kevin and Glen were our techs) They came out within two days to replace our entire HVAC system. They were prompt, polite and did an excellent job. We already knew they were a good company as we have used them for years but this was such a pleasant experience, I wanted to share!

+ 0 moreAs always with anything they do, Mr. Straddeck and Doug came out promptly to evaluate what I needed. They told me what I needed to do to get VNG to bring gas to my house, once done, they could proceed. The day of install Kevin and Glenn showed up on time and got right to work. By the time I got home from my office, later that day, I had a completely new system in place. It was so nice to be able to turn on my heat and not be afraid of a huge oil bill! And! I now have no shortage of hot water! It is wonderful! Mr. Straddeck, Doug, Kevin, Glenn, Mike are all true professionals! Over the years, I have always been impressed with the young men that work for Mr. Straddeck who are polite, kind, courteous and always neat in appearance. He does not have a huge round around on employees which speaks volumes to me. The same guys have been around for some time now. The office staff, headed by Christine, is also the best. If you have had bad experiences with HVAC companies, this is the company to try! I have complete trust in this company!
Description of Work: I have been a very pleased customer of Mike Straddeck and Associates for many years! I have recommended this company to family and friends, as well, who have all continued as customers. They have always provided prompt service whether it be a service call or replacing an entire system. We have also used them on our rental properties. The most recent job for me at my home was to theyed switched my oil boiler system over to a gas boiler system. They also added, into the system, a gas hot water heater.

+ -1 moreThe job went well, just as planned, from start to completion. The company was very flexible and worked with us, to meet our needs. For example, we wanted to use our existing oil before the conversion, and we were getting very low on oil, it was still cold and we weren't scheduled to get the new burner in for another week. So, Doug Cashwell arranged for one of the workers to come and put some oil in the tank (at no charge), to keep us warm until the gas burner was installed. He worked around our schedule, our needs and I know it made things more difficult, but they were always accommodating. Overall, we found this company to possess integrity, have a fair payment schedule, professional workmanship and flexibility to meet the customer's needs. I would highly recommend this company, Mike Straddeck and Associates to anyone who needs a heating or AC contractor.
Description of Work: We had already spoken to a few contractors before we contacted Mike Straddeck and Associates. We had gotten a few high estimates, and some companies never even called back! We had an oil fired boiler that provided our baseboard heating, but with the rising price of oil, we were looking to switch to natural gas-and we were prepared to replace our entire heating system. Mike Straddeck and Doug Cashwell came to give us an estimate. They were the only contractor that we spoke to that gave us the option of using our existing boiler, which is fairly new and has been properly maintained, and switching out the oil burner for a gas burner-instead of changing out the whole system-we were able to keep the boiler. We were very impressed at the integrity and honesty displayed by Mike and Doug with this estimate. Virginia Natural Gas installed the gas meter to our home, then Doug Cashwell and his technicians from Mike Straddeck and Associates displayed excellent workmanship tapping the meter and very neatly and skillfully bringing the line through the attic to the boiler in the garage. We have a very tight attic to navigate, and they did an outstanding job of rearranging all of the insulation, etc, to the point it looked like it was never disturbed. They also ran a gas line to our side porch for our gas grill. We were very pleased at how they left the job site just as clean as it was when they arrived. The work crew was extremely polite, professional and knowledgeable.

+ -1 moreWe have used Mike Straddeck for many years now but they are always so great to work with. Our furnace was acting up. I called and they had a techinican out the next day. Kevin is always very pleasant and professional. He diagnosed the problem and said they would be back the next morning to install the part. They came first thing the next morning and installed the part. Great experience as always and I always recommend them to friends and neighbors when given the chance.

+ -1 moreI was satisfied with their service and I would give them an A plus, plus. I spent $3600 on that service. I would tell others that they were excellent. They seemed to be very honest and very professional. They were wonderful. My air-conditioner went out on one of the hottest days, but they came out like the next day and gave me new one. They had to lift up my furnace in the garage to get the air-conditioner coils from under it because that is where they were. They had to lift all that up and fix all that stuff and they did a great job with that. If I need a new furnace I am calling them.
Description of Work: I use Mike Straddeck & Associates for heating and air-conditioning service. The last time I used them was around the beginning of July and they replaced my air-conditioning system.

+ -1 moreThis is about the most unprofessional thing I have ever seen a business do. I am still shocked by this shoddy treatment. I would NEVER use or call this company again.
Description of Work: NO SERVICES WERE PERFORMED: I called to schedule repair service the week of December 14, 2009 for a problem with my elderly parents furnace based on 6 reports, all excellent on the list. My parents had heat, just not a lot of it. Kathy in the office said that they were still playing catch up from the Northeaster storm and it would be January 5 before someone could look at the problem. It was not a severe emergency for my parents so I said that would be OK. On January the 4th I called and made sure we were still on the schedule and Kathy assured me that we were. On the morning of the 5th she called and said that they could not do my parents house, that they were not regular customers and they didn't want any new ones. Also she said that my parents used to be one of their clients but that my parents had dropped them. I did not know this as my mother, who handled all their accounts before, now has Alzheimer's which I explained to Kathy. I was in shock - who would do this - cancel at the last minute - telling me the day before that they were coming when they had 3 weeks to call and cancel. Then Kathy said OK they would do it - I breathed a sigh of relief, thanked her profusely and hung up. Then the phone rang and a manager called back and said that no they would not be coming out. So, needless to say, not services were performed.

I scheduled a panel installation. Max, the technician, was prompt and professional. (See details of services performed.)
Description of Work: Inspected my HVAC system and determined that the first problem was an inop circuit panel. I scheduled a service call. Max, the technician was prompt and professional. He installed the circuit panel, tested the entire system, added coolant, and answered my questions. Since I had just purchased the home, I truly appreciated the time he took to go over the system and address my concerns.
