We have been with MSCO for years and they are always reliable and reasonable. We have a contract with them and they come out twice a year to inspect our system. It is money well spent. Our technician, Rick Schoop, has been our go to person and he is extremely knowlegable, timely, and very professional

Little expensive but they are very good and always doing a great job.

They completed the job on time when scheduled, and their price was better than other quotes for Trane.

Hired this company September 2018 to service my HVAC because my heat stopped working. They're a lot on the pricier side of things which would be okay if value and customer appreciation were included. They replaced my capacitor which failed 4 months later. Before their return to service the same issue as before I asked if they provide a warranty. I was told that they do provide a 1 year warranty so I proceeded to re-hire the. ONLY because of the warranty they claimed they have. After all was said and done, I got charged ANOTHER trip charge for $80 which is utterly ludicrous to me. I don't understand why I had to pay a trip charge for services rendered for work that was "warrantied". Well after speaking to the manager he informed me that I am a "Non... (something)" which basically means my service request isn't a routine maintenance issue so at most all there is, is a 30 day warranty. Granted they did "waive" the charge for the part itself which I appreciate but even that was a slight issue in itself. They could've also waived the trip charge due to the fact that I was told there is a warranty and obviously you cannot get service/repair done without someone coming to provide work in the first place. At the vet least they could've cut the trip charge in half in an attempt to work this matter out as I was told by the manager that I was given incorrect information based off his employee's lack of knowledge which resulted in me having to literally pay for their mistake. They also do not apply their trip charge to the overall bill upon completion. In the end I could have hired a less expensive company that actually guarantees their work and applies/includes the trip charge to the bill. For this reason I will not hire them again nor provide a recommendation. The actual overall cost would've been $556 but they lowered it only because I spoke up and complained first.

After 15 years my relative needed a new A/C system, and MSCO, with whom she had been a customer for 10 years, installed a new air handler and a new outside unit. All went well so when I needed a new system the following year to replace my 13 year old unit which had never even needed repair, I chose MSCO with whom I had been a customer for 10 years. After only 3 years, my relative's Trane system outside mysteriously needed a new coil for $600. Then my system needed a new board for the air handler the following year. I could not deny the huge coincidence and the probability of something like this occurring so we have both discontinued our business forever.

Technician Rob Schoop did a very good job in assessing our system and needs in a very professional manner. He checked our condition system, flushed the system and replace the capacitor on furnace as we had an old system.

They were servicing a unit they installed and the cost of the unit was a lot higher than the cost and they tried to deny that they were not the company that installed the unit.

We've been very happy with them. That's why we keep using them.

They followed up about VNG coming for an inspection. I just hope the system will perform well. And last for at least 10 yrs. considering these Trane systems are expensive. I guess I can go to Home Depot and get a programmable thermostat. I feel that though they sent a letter about the service they did not return my calls about the thermostat. I don't think they communicated to the installation team about my wish to leave the concrete base.

Another company had to put in wells at first thru MSCo. You are taking the heat out of the earth. You don't find out until after you get them to do the work. They didn't do some of the things they should have. I ran into some problems this last year. We had a northeaster come thru and we had water under the house. In Norfolk, VA you have water, and my husband had put in a sump pump prior to the heating system. It worked very well. When they put the geo thermal in, they took out the sump pump and didn't put anything in to take care of that. I was not aware of this. They didn't tell me they had taken out the sump pump and I was not aware of it until last year. They had put in 3 wells. The company then went out of business, and as time went on it was said to me that possibly we should have put in an additional well. This ran into more money. I didn't have heat the way I wanted for 2 winters. I asked them to try to fix this and no one has gotten back to me. You have a guarantee with the company for parts and labor and I am within the 10 years but I am not a happy camper. You have to trust the company but later on, I've done different things. I had somebody else come in and check out the system after the flooding I had no heating whatsoever because of the flooding under the house. I found another company that knows geothermal and I found out that the parts were guaranteed. It was one thing after another with this company. I had the owner of the company at my house, I told him that you told me this would reduce the power usage and it hasn't.I gave him the paperwork to prove it and when I got this other guy to come out, I called the owner back to ask him for the paperwork back and he never gave it back to me. I think he just threw it away instead of taking care of it and doing what was right or wrong. It's just little things like that, that you should get satisfaction with a company but you don't. I was brought up that if they say that is what they're gonna do, I take them at their word. I have another guy fixing it now because they wanted to charge me $4000 to fix it even though it was under warranty. Come to find out with the flooding business, I had another company come in and put plastic down and I found out they had left piles and holes under the house, cut up pipes, they didn't clean up after putting the system in. The quality of the job was not like it should have been. They should have cleaned up and even though it was under the house, it should have been cleaned up.

They come twice a year, we have been using them for ten years. When they redid our heat and a/c, it was a little pricey. They have provided 10 years of good quality support; they are professional and timely.

I would continue using them because they do my maintenance on my other systems.

The staff was extremely friendly and worked around my hectic schedule. The house was over 88 degrees upstairs and everyone home was miserable. The Technician was able to get my air conditioner up and running.

Service call went well. I have a Energy Saving Agreement (ESA) with Mechanical Service Company and they come out twice a year to make sure my HVAC system is running at peak performance.

They basically looked at my system and told me they couldn't do anything. The second company I called were much more informative.

From the very first contact with Travis at MSCO the service was exceptional! Very professional, insightful and prompt at all steps of the estimate and installation process! Travis came to our rental property immediately to a**** a leaky hot water tank and 20+ year old Apollo heat/air system. It was decision time - do I replace the large, expensive hot water tank to service an Apollo system that's limping along beyond it's expected life cycle? Should I also replace the Apollo system as well? Or should I convert all to a Trane heat pump system with a standard water heater? ALL of the options were clearly considered with detailed estimates and excellent dialogue about the differences, advantages, disadvantages of all options. The decision was to replace everything a Trane XR14 Heat Pumpand standard 40gal water heater. The job began a few days later, was completed as expected and by the time the installation team left you'd never have known they were there! Excellent, professional service from ALL - thank you! It's refreshing to find a reliable service provider after dealing with multiple other HVAC installers who were subpar on many levels. First, I must tell you, that I joined Angie's List specifically to write this review. The gentleman that I date is a member, but since I wanted to be the one to submit the review, I joined. Please take the time to read my review, because this HVAC company is the finest example of excellence that I have encountered. I spent approximately $15,000 for two Trane units, for two residences, which were purchased and installed by a competing Trane Authorized Dealer in the Tidewater area. I severed ties with this company, due to unsatisfactory responsiveness. I decided to take my business to Mechanical Services. Words do not describe how happy I am, that I made this decision. Recently they diagnosed a solder joint leak at the air handler, of the unit which is 1 1/2 years old and reported to me that this was an installation problem. I had several conversations with Mechanical Services office staff, management staff and technicians to discuss the best way for me to address this problem, since it would not be an inexpensive fix. Their philosophy is to never speak poorly of a competitor, because that is unprofessional behavior. How refreshing. They guided me, in hopes that I would not be held responsible for another company's mistake. I contacted the company that installed the unit by email and certified mail. Finally when I got a response, I paid for a service call for them to inspect the problem, hoping that they would correct the problem. Although it was determined by the installation company, to be an install issue, they declined to make the repair at at their expense, since the unit was 1 1/2 years old. I recently retired from the City of Virginia Beach and am living off of half of my income. I was simply beside myself. I contacted Mechanical Services and spoke to the General Manager, who in turn spoke to the Service Manager about my problem. It is pretty amazing that the General Manager and Service Manager, took so much time to talk to me about a problem that they did not create, as did the office staff. What is even more amazing is that they opted to help me rectify the problem, by making the cost more manageable, that it brought tears to my eyes. They had compassion for me and they valued me as a person and a customer. I have so much respect for the company as a whole. If you are looking for a company with integrity, skilled technicians, friendly, prompt customer service, you need not look further. I have interacted with almost all of the office staff, Whenever I contact the office to schedule service, request a copy of an invoice I misplaced or ask questions, the ladies go above and beyond to promptly meet my needs, by attentively listening to me, displaying courteous, friendly and professional service. The technicians are knowledgeable, friendly and willing to take the time to answer any of my questions. They arrive on time, every time. The management staff, well, they have a thorough understanding of what makes the difference between good and excellence, in their field. They are the total package of what I desire from a company, in which I do business. You, as a customer, must decide what you looking for, but I suspect it is the same.
