McKown Pressure Wash & Painting

Phone/emails were a bit slow to get the estimate. I was going to go with them until I noticed a $20 fuel surcharge on the estimate not previously discussed. We are only in Chesapeake so I find this a bit excessive. I ended up choosing J&M who was cheaper and didn't charge the fuel surcharge.

They returned my call immediately, were on time for the estimate and for the job itself. They promised that their chemical would not harm our foundation shrubs and plants and they were correct. Would definitely use them again.

On the first attempt to accomplish this work, there was a major misunderstanding as to the location of the property. I had mentioned one address and then immediately corrected myself. The person I spoke with at McKown noted the previous address. They returned the estimate for a different address; I failed to note the address, and the contractor accomplished the work, and I paid the invoice for the work at the WRONG address. Terrible misunderstanding by both parties. On top of this, the tenant at the wrong address was not expecting the contractor, and reported some water damage under the front door. Other than a major misunderstanding as to the location of the property, the work was finally completed at the correct address.

They arrived on time and explained what they would be doing. The job was completed on time I was very satisfied with McKown from start to finish and will use them again.

The crew arrived as scheduled and did a GREAT job. The house is sparkling clean, and I found absolutely no damage to any shrubs, etc. This is an outstanding provider. They were very professional and reliable in my experience.

I purchased that deal and I called him the same day and they came out the very next day at the time they said they were and they got started and knocked it all out in about an hour and hour and a half and they came and asked if everything was good and follows okay with the way they came out and it came out good. They did it a promptly fashion and I haven't had any discrepancy with their work or their timeliness. I would use them again in the future.

Great service from a great provider. They worked extra hard and went the extra mile, literally, to get the job done. What's more they drive-up costs when the size of my home fell outside the advertised deal. Thanks a lot guys.

The company painted trim on front of house fascia and two shutters color to match, caulked where needed. They searched and found the correct paint and did an excellent job. Thanks for the referral.

First of all the company was supposed to email the estimate and after 5 days I had to call and asked where it was and then it was sent. The day service was scheduled, Tuesday, August 20th. , I had to leave the house at 12:50 p.m. and the tech had not shown up yet ; when I returned at 3:15 p.m. he had just finished and was ready to leave, having supposedly done all of that work in a period of less than 2 hours. (I did see a voice message on the phone later where he had called about 1 p.m. and said he was on the way). The deck was totally wet and I asked if he had cleaned it and sealed it and done all of the other work in that period of time and he said "yes". The deck was not cleaned to my satisfaction as you could still see the discoloration where all of the potted plants had been. I called the office back and the tech returned the next day and I said he would have to re-do it and he said he would have to talk with Mr. McKowan as he had already sealed it. He came back on Friday and said he woould have to scrap off everything and would come back the day after Labor Day to re-seal it. That Tuesday he came by and heavy rain was forecast and it was understandable he could not do the seal. Unfortunately he was scheduled to leave on a week of vacation the next day and he said he would be back to do the work the following Tuesday. Finally I called the office on Wed. Sept. 11th to ask when the tech was coming and they said later that day and then the office called back later that afternoon and said the tech was stuck in Atlanta. Apparently the company only has one person to do this kind of work. I waited all the rest of the week and did not hear from anyone. I finally called the company on Monday, Sept. 16th and said I was through with them and she said , "Oh, he is scheduled to come tomorrow". I said forget it. All of this time my furniture has sat out in the middle of the yard and I had to reschedule my aerating and re-seeding twice during that period. I have contacted another person who had to come and re-sand the deck because it was so roughed up from removing the seal and he has now covered it with an acrylic seal---all of this done in the past 5 days. He will return in 2 days and replace all of my furniture on the deck. My overall experience was very distressing.

Very impressive. Called when he was held up. Great attitude...thorough...threw in cleaning the storage shed for free. My normal handy man service said they could not come close to his price. I would definitely use him again and recommend to others.

Punctual and good quality work, they even came back and cleaned up the over spray. I would use them again.

The man who did the job was a very hard worker, extremely diligent, and very accommodating. I'lll definitely use them next time.

First: I am a repeat customer. This is the third time McKown Pressure Washing has cleaned my property consisting of a brick house, brick detached building and cement walkways and two car wide 30 ft long driveway. Timely; Courteous; and, Professional is the reason for my repeat business. I requested a quote via e-mail on Saturday, 17 AUG 13 and received a phone call within 3 hours and set up an appointment for 2:30 P.M. on Monday, 19 AUG 13. The estimator, Betty, arrived on time for this appointment and I received an estimate via e-mail on 20 AUG 13. I requested an adjustment to the original scope of work to include the roof of the house as it was showing stains, and received the final estimate on 22 AUG 13 and set up an appointment for the work on Tuesday, 27 AUG 13. Tarps were placed over the flowers and shrubbery around the house to protect them during the pressure washing of the roof. Again, I am extremely pleased with the work performed. If you are looking for an excellent job for the price, look no further. All the staff I dealt with were exceptionally professional and courteous. I will call on them again in the future.

I dont recall the dates or times of the service due to my traveling home the day after. My wife was happy with the results... Enough said for me.

Showed up on time to give the estimate. Work was performed on time and they even cleaned a bit more that they originally estimated at no charge. I could not have been happier with the job they did. The crew was polite and worked hard. I highly recommend going to this service provider.

Their service is always good. They definitely pay attention to detail. The prices are reasonable and they are friendly. They don't use high pressure water but instead they use low pressure heated water. It doesn't cause any damage. I like their service.

He showed up on time, was polite and described what he was to do, then he did it. That was the good ... On the other hand, he left a white residue (from bleach?) on the dark paint and on the windows. I suspect these areas should have been rinsed, but were not.

Very pleased with service. Company very professional, responded very quickly to give an estimate and then schedule service. Very helpful in explaining what services would be provided and what I needed to do before they arrived. Service was performed on the day scheduled and they did a good job!

Price was the best of 3 quotes, very professional cleaner came exactly on time and did an outstanding job, even getting the tough mold growing in the corners of a second story dormer. Used a solution that didn't kill any of the many plants I have planted right against the side of the house. Would highly recommend.

They did a fabulous job. The deck, house, etc. had not been done in YEARS. The deck was nasty and now it looks brand new. The house looks great! Sparkling clean!!

Excellent service. A neighbor used McKown for their house washing and we decided to give them a try. After a quick call, we received an estimate, arranged the service, and the washing was done the next day. Very responsive. While the washer arrived a few hours late due to a delay at the previous job, they did show up the day scheduled and did a very thorough job. The nice thing about this service is that they do not use high pressure wash, their system uses lower pressures. The cleaners used did a good job and took off a couple of years of mildew without a problem. Even small spots on our white siding that I've tried to remove by hand came off. I was particularly impressed with McKown's responsiveness. I'd do business with them again.

Hose wand walks were great. Look new.. the deck I would like to have had a little better. But with low pressure if did not remove some of the green mold from the winter. It was a good job on the deck not great.. the rest of the work was great.
