McKown Pressure Wash & Painting

He did do a great job on the pressure washing. I did have some painting for this company but because of this I found another company that is much cheaper on the painting.

On Friday the 22nd i waited for the worker to arrive. I had never used McKown before, but i was optimistic because i had checked Angie's List, i saw the nice commercials on TV showing the professional looking workers witht heir shiny McKown trucks, the estimator who arrived to review the work was very professional and i received the estimate information very quicky, and even better - my next door neighbor, the same one who helped me move my heavy furniture in the yard - wound up having McKown pressure washing his house that thursday - while i was moving my items from the front of my yard i saw the shiny McKown truck arrive and i even spoke with the man who was doing the work - he was dressed appropriately for the work to be done, neat and clean, and he was at the house by about 0810 or so! My neighbor later reported being satisfied with the work. He was ony having the house done, not the drive and other work i was havng done. My experience was not as good. In the afternoon McKown called me to tell me the worker scheduled to do my house had a flat tire and no spare. It would take about two hours to fix the flat and by then it would be very late in the day. As i mentioned, it was VERY hot that day, and i really do understand that a large job like mine, started late in the day, would probably not go so well. And i did not want anyone suffering heat stroke! So when McKown asked to reschedule for early Monday the 25th, i agreed - even though it meant all my stuff had to remain out of place and my yard furniture could not be used over the weekend. Good thing i was not planning a pool party! But i am generally easy to get along with about these things. And i was told the worker would even be at my house very early monday around 0730 and that mine was his only job that day. Sounded fine to me, but was not to be. Monday i waited till after 1200 noon then called McKown. Was told worker would be ther with a half hour. An hour and a half later i was sitting on the porch when a small blue pickup truck entered my street. I was expecting the shiny McKown truck i had seen in the commercials and when my neighborhad his house done just thursday! This was a well-used little blue truck with some other tag on the side of the door. Turns out he was a sub-contractor, not a direct McKown employee. He said he had been working since early morning on preparations for another job scheduled for the next day. Regardless of first impressions being what they are, since my stuff had been out of place since thursday, and i really needed the house washed, i figured i would at least give him a chance and see how it went. Fortunately, he turned out to do a good job - so i did not make a big deal about it with McKown, and i think i got an extra $10 off my bill. I would consider using McKown again, but i would get some very definite assurances aout who, when, what, etc would be involved in my job. I do not know if the fact that i had the Angies List coupon had something to do with getting the subcontractor...it certainly came to my mind that way.

The person who answered the phone and did the scheduling was very professional and polite. They scheduled it right away and I received a 15% discount for having an Angis list coupon. As this was rental property, I requested a call before the work was done so I could be at the property. The technician called to let me know he was on his way to the property which I appreciated. The finished house looked great. I would use this company again.

These people did a reasonable good job overall. The staff was polite and courteous. I was a little disappointed in the cost. A few years ago I had the house pressure washed by a different company for $175 which included the front walk and driveway. Since I was unable to contact this same company, I decided to go with McKown because they were offering a "Big Deal" for $175. I was informed, however, that the "Big Deal" did not include the walkway and driveway and that those would be extra, but I wouldn't know how much extra until the technician could see them. Since I had last had the house pressure washed four or five years ago, I was prepared to pay another $30 or $40 on top of the $175 I had already paid. The original estimate for just the walkway and driveway came out to considerably more than that, but the technician did agree to reduce the price to $75. I noticed after the work was done, that several of the plants located close to the house were looking somewhat peaked. I wondered if that was due to the "environmentally friendly" chemicals they used on the house. I will report, however, that the plants do seem to be improving in health in the last few weeks, so I'm optimistic that any damage done was not permanent.

Coordinated easily. The service representative initiated contacted the following business day. Eager to get in and get the job done. Didn't need to be there. The service enhanced the curb appeal to the home. Great deal for the service provided. I need roofing and metal shed to be complete now. I will more than likely go with them again.

After contracting (& paying) two (that's 2) power-washing companies, I had to call a 3rd one to get the job done correctly. This time, I used Angie's List to confirm a reliable service company ... and it worked! "McKown Pressure Wash" arrived on schedule and performed "beyond" my expectations. They left the rental properties decks looking NEW. The McKown Team was efficient, professional and courteous. I could not have found a better experience. I have found a "Vendor For Life" ... Thank You "McKown" & "Angie's List" ... another win-win-win experience!pARTy On! ...

SUPERB TRANSACTION IN ALL RESPECTS FROM START TO FINISH....EXCEPTIONAL DIALOGUE, OUTSTANDING PLANNING AND EXECUTION , HIGHEST PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS...

I called this company more than one week in advance and scheduled my service. There were no questions asked of me about special needs....I didn't think I had any, I just wanted my house pressure washed. I took time off work to be at the house between 8 AM and 3 PM. At 3 PM I called to check on the service. I was told that they would call the technician and let me know how long it would be. No response. At 6:45 PM the technician called and said he was on his way. WOW! When the technician arrived he looked at the rust stains on my house and said that he couldn't do the work because he didn't have the chemicals. He told me that he would be back around 1 PM the next day and made no mention of extra costs. The next day I called the office to find out what happened. Of course it was all my fault that I didn't tell them specifically what kind of stains I had or special needs, again, I didn't think I had any. The lady in the office tells me that she will pass my name and number to the owner for me so that I can discuss this with him. I plan to take the next afternoon off in addition to the time I've already taken and a different technician calls me at 10 AM. He is at my house and says that it will be an extra $200 to clean the rust in addition to what I was already quoted. I told him to do the regular pressure washing without the rust stain removal while I was waiting to talk to the owner. He left without providing any service. The company says that you do not have to be home but they also want coupons and payments at the job site. It has to be one way or the other. If you want to do business with this company make sure you ask all of the questions that these professionals are clearly not smart enough to ask in advance. Then make sure that you have plenty of time to wait around for them.

Once we worked around the weather issues the job was scheduled. The stain looks good there were a few over spray issues that were immediately corrected. They were very professional and courteous, we very much enjoyed doing business with them and would call them again.

Crew was on time and did a good job. There were a couple windowsills that I asked them to redo and they had no problem with making it right. Some areas of driveway and sidewalk were washed away a bit (partially due to condition of concrete) but overall a decent job. The one complaint I do have is that the cleaning solution ruined my Japanese maple tree by bleaching the leaves with white spots.

This was my first experience using Angie's List and it was a very pleasant experience. I never saw the contractor, but my wife did. They came to the house, pressure washed the house and the shed and did an excellent job. I couldn't be more pleased. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. Awesome experience!

They came when promised, did the job and cleaned up after themselves. When we telephoned to mention a single spot that had been missed, they promised to get to it day after tomorrow but actually got to it the next day. I would definitely recommend them again

John called ahead as requested and he was on time. John was very proffesional and polite. He pressured washed the house exactly as promised.

All aspects of the job went well! The person performing the work showed up on time and the end product was completed to my expiations. I have hired the for a second job!

Jimmy came on time and started right away. He did an Excellent job. I actually saw a HUGE difference in the look of the house when he was done. Great Customer Service. I used 15% coupon on Angie's List website.

Performed as advertised. Professional, on time and completed the work with minimum mess. Certainly would use them again.

The were prompt, conscientious, responsive to questions and did an excellent job.

Excellent experience. Called for info and cost about the job. Given a fair price and set up a date. Unable to do the job on the date set because of the weather. Frida called and we discussed new appt. time. Techs shows up on time and were finished in less than 1 hour. They did a fantastic job and my home looked like new!.

Signed up for house pressure wash service as a "big deal". They called back very quickly to set up service. I requested a quote to add deck pressure washing, and I was told I would get a call with an estimate when they came out to wash the house. Everything went as promised....they called on time with the estimate, and I had them take care of the deck as well. The important part for me.....quick call backs, everyone I talked to was very nice, and, most importantly they did what they said they would do when they said they would do it. I'll call them again.

McKown had to reschedule the pressure washing from the previous week and stated that they would call when on the way on the new date, but no call came. The crew simply arrived! But, they did a fine job on our vinyl siding. We had a lot of accumulated mildew on the north side and the rest was getting dull looking. After the pressure washing was complete, the siding was brighter and looking new. Although the truck and equipment were well worn, the crew did well and were courteous.

No complaints. They arrived on time. I left for work, did not have to be there since it was alll outside work. When I returned at lunch time, they were gone. Inspected the house, everything looked clean.

Excellent. Never knew they were there. Just came home and the house looked like it was new again.

The service guy came out on time and he called to say he was on his way. On next day after drying I noticed splitting wood on deck rails and I thought this was low pressure. My windows had been cleaned prior and after the washing, they were dirty from film from the wash., thats why my B rating. I did not inform the company.

They called before they came. They didn't have to come inside and the job was done with no interruption to my day. They finished quickly and efficiently and knew what they were doing.
