Additional DBA - Mark Carlson Well Drilling & Pump Service.
Services we offer
Residential and commercial closed-loop geothermal heat pump system, drinking water system, lawn irrigation and sprinkler system & submersible pump system.
Description of Work: Removed bad submersible pump (used for house)and replaced with new pump, piping, wiring, pitmen adapter, etc. This was a very, very difficult removal, the previous pump had been in the ground for approx. 20 years and the pitmen adapter was completely rusted and frozen in place. The metal release cable had completely rotted away, causing in part to the difficulty in it's removal. They spent a good 5 hours replacing this pump and Mark charged me the quoted price from over the phone. He originally had told me if they needed to dig up the pitman adapter that he would have to charge extra for the part and labor, he only charged me for the price, no additional labor. He also sold me a new bladder tank (I had asked him to pick up, wasn't sure if I was going to have him install or the water conditioner folks, had also purchased a new water conditioner unit from someone else). We decided since the water conditioner unit was going to be installed in 1 week, it would be best to have them install. Mark charged me less than the quoted price due to his initial quote included installation. I found Mark to be a very honest and professional person, if I were to have any other problems in the future I would definitely call him and I have recommended him to my neighbors, we all have wells where I live.

We had been searching for a reliable well/pump repairman for a while. Each time we believed we had found someone, they were not able to fix the issues we were having. I am so glad we found this company on Angie's List. A truly reliable expert professional who knew exactly how to repair our well. The repairs made were extensive compared to the quick-fixes the other repairman attempted, and the total repairs took less time and money as well. Our pump has been working perfectly! I am so thankful to have found Mark Carlson Well & Pump. Now we have a reliable expert we can count on.

I had a geothermal HVAC system replaced (for upstairs in my 2 story house) and the installers were doing they're final hook up to my well pump so that they could begin testing. However, they determined that my well pump was seized. After checking on Angie's List, I decided to go with Mark Carlson Well and Pump. I called him that same day around 4PM and he came over the next morning promptly at 8:30AM. Mr. Carlson and his assistant 1) verified that my well was still providing water 2) tested my well pump, and in the end 3) replaced my 1/2 hp well pump with a 3/4 well pump with a 10 gal WATER WORK accumulator. My last pump didn't have an accumulator. They also removed the 2 old relays that were controlling my old well pump and my irrigation sprinkler well pump with solenoids. Additionally, they reinstalled and zoned the new well pump to both my HVAC units (one for the downstairs and one for the upstairs). Before, it wasn't zoned. Mr. Carlson and his assistant pretty much did everything that was mentioned in the 5 Mar 2015 review, ie. after the new pump was installed, they showed my how to drain and pressurize the accumulator. They answered all my questions I had during their installation and educated me on how the well pump worked and in how to keep the accumulator pressurized each year. In hindsight, I should have personally verified asked Mr. Carlson what size pump he was going to replace my old well pump with. After re-reading the first review on his service on 5 Mar 2015 and after doing some research on the internet, it looks like the price difference between a PENTAIR STA-RITE 1/2 hp and 3/4 well pump is about $265. That said, I marked fair for price on the review because the price with the 3/4 well pump replacement of $1250 seemed about right when compared to the 1/2 well pump replacement of approximate $985 mentioned in the first review for his company. He and his assistant were very respectful and professional. I marked NO in using him in the future because as of today, I wonder if I will be getting something more than what I need i.e. getting a 3/4 hp pump when all I needed was a 1/2 hp pump. With that in mind, I also want professionalism and quality from the vendors which I received from Mr. Carlson and his assistant. Who knows, I may still use him in the future.

Mark arrived with a helper to test run the original pump, test pump the well, and make repairs as needed. The test pumping revealed that the well was still serviceable. The legacy pump had seized and required replacement. Mark and his assistant installed a new 1/2 HP shallow well pump and accumulator, and demonstrated the proper operation and care of the pump including checking accumulator air pressure, priming procedures and end of season drain down. The pump supplied was robustly made and suitable for continuous service. All plumbing was neatly arranged allowing use of a compact cover to be purchased later. Mark recommended a supplier for covers.

Mark was a very professional installer taking one day to drill the new well and then came back the next working day to do the installation. Communications were good throughout the planning and execution, but Mark does not have an email address - we communicated by phone and exchanged emails through his wife's business. Both Mark and Brian, his assistant, worked continuously until the job was completed. The water lines and power had to go through a trench that Mark dug with ditch witch - he had all the tools required for the job at hand. He had to run the lines under the crawl space and a return line for the untreated / agricultural water line. The submersible pump is more expensive, but since it operates from within the well itself we no longer hear the obnoxious sound of the other well pump in our garage. All in all I am very happy with the service provided and would recommend Mark to any of my friends and neighbors.
Description of Work: Mark drilled a second 40 foot, 4 inch well on our property, installed a submersible pump, connected the entire system to the existing line in the house, plumbed the valves so I could run my second well through the softener as a backup and untreated water for lawn use, and provided a hand pump as a tertiary backup.

My former well lost pressure so Mr. Carlson installed the new one. He did no damage at all to my lawn, which was very important to me I could not tell he was there after the job was done. The water pressure is excellent with the new well.
Description of Work: He installed a new well beside where the old well was and connected all the pipes.
