Matt and his assistant, Paul, re-did electrical in our newly purchased condo which we completely remodeled. HE DOES A SUPERB JOB IN EVERY WAY - AAAA++++ My experience in evaluating contractors: My experience in remodels doing electrical myself (5,000 square foot house entirely) and working with electricians is very extensive: I?ve completely done electrical on six major homes over the years. Thus, I have dealt with numerous paint contractors. Lee is one of the best I?ve ever worked with. Scope of Project: Notably, I hired every contractor remotely from San Francisco prior to moving out to Norfolk. Using Angie?s List and Better Business Bureau, I searched and evaluated numerous electricians. The job entailed installing four new fans, kitchen under counter lights, 20 new recessed halogen spot lights, track lights, new circuits, GFI circuits, moving outlets, etc. Bid Preparation: Getting estimates from a far, I had prepared an extremely detailed, line by line item list of every step that needed to be done. My real estate agent had keys to our condo and coordinated pick-up and return for inspection and estimates by contractors. I had identified every electrical item that would need to be purchased, specifying part number, location (spots / switches, etc). Each electrician got an identical email from me with no changes, thus ensuring comparability. I was searching for the best workers, at reasonable costs, and a good personality fit - most important. Numerous emails and phone call exchanges with these folks over two weeks it took to find the right painter. I chose Matt Lee as we determined approximate time frame he and his crew could begin. I had contract sent / signed, and initial deposits made for the work. Professionalism: He is very, very professional, super experienced in all facets of electrical work, helpful with suggestions and ideas. He is very reasonably priced (on the lower end but important, not the low end - you get what you pay for). Most important, he is attentive, very responsive (always a phone call response back to me generally within an hour and always within the day). I knew within the first day or two I had the right man for the job and needn?t worry about a thing. Not only was he an expert, he has an excellent way of dealing with other sub-contractors working their jobs (during the time frame he was there), who genuinely liked working with him, coordinating with them, their schedules, to keep things flowing smoothly. Work ethic. He is extremely detail conscious, everything needed to be perfect by him, always opted for the best look, never cut corners, even if cut into his profits. Always cleaning up everything at the end of the day, removing tools. Remodels, especially old homes, always run into problems not anticipated and not part of the original contract. Important: home owners always come up with new ideas, the job expands, change orders, etc. Therefore, I knew from my extensive remodeling experience I could run over budget. I can assure you that Matt was always more than fair with me, not a bean counter, while incurring additional work that needed to be done. Job Done: The condo lighting is absolutely beautiful (I?m an artist, lots of paintings hanging on walls), on time done to perfection at a reasonable cost, with an excellent working relationship, hassle free co-operative manner thanks to Matt and Paul. Summary: Having done five extensive home re-models, working with all the trades and at least 100 contractors, I CAN TRUTHFULLY SAY HE IS VERY GOOD. His work is top notch. HIS PRICES ARE VERY REASONABLE. His work ethic superb and honesty commendable. Scott and Nancy

Mr. Lee was very courteous, friendly and had a big smile. His performed his work in a very professional manner and the finished job was of the highest quality. Both he and his assistant did an inspection for any little detail of litter that they may have dropped and there was absolutely no mess.

As stated above, found these guys on Angie's list and called them based on reviews. I did not receive a single response to my three calls! Very unprofessional!

Lee was professional, genuine, unhurried, obviously knowledgeable and patient in educating me on a variety of unrelated electrical questions. He will be doing all of my future electrical work.

Pricing is fair and he's honest. I'm Florida and the properties are in Virgina Beach, I can text him and he will go out and get the work taken care of.

When Matt arrived, I explained to him what had been done previously by another company, that they'd had to come back to recheck an outlet because it kept sparking when I'd plug or unplug something intto that outlet, and thye'd found no problem with it, and that we noticed (after they'd gone) that the TV and lamp near that problematic outlet was not working, and that when I called them again about the TV and lamp, they'd suggested I contact someone else. Matt checked the breaker box, the outlets the TV and lamp were plugged into, and the outlet previously worked on that kept sparking. Matt found the problem quickly in the problematic outlet, removed the tape, stripped the wire back to the broken area, connected the wire to the outlet, and voila, the TV and lamp worked again immediately. Matt was a) quick: checked things out, found the problem, fixed the problem; b) precise: narrowed the problem to the problematic outlet and was done in about half an hour; and c) definitely knowledgeable: he explained what he did and why, and told me the reason why the TV and lamp didn't work is that while the problematic outlet may have worked, the broken and taped wire in it caused problems downline. Matt will be coming back to my house when I need more work done.

They were very good. It took them two days to complete the job. We liked them very much. They were very knowledgeable and very polite. They were timely. They did a really nice job as far as cleaning up afterwards. They had to dig a long trench. Everything was very good. Their price was fair.

I called Matt about an electrical problem with the dishwasher in our rental property. He said that he would contact our tenant and informed me upfront about his labor Matt contacted our tenant right away and set up an appointment the same day!! He arrived on time and was very professinal. We contacted him to repair the wiring on the dishwasher. While he was there our tenant asked if he could do some minor additional work. They contacted us for permission as well as to inform us of the parts prices before doing the work. His prices were reasonable and the tenant said the quality was good. When I followed up weeks later, I found the work to be top notch. Very happy with the whole process and I strongly recommend him.

Matt arrived promptly, and got right to work. I had purchased the supplies at a local store, so everything was on hand. He removed the old doorbell unit inside the house, installed a new transformer and two outside switches. Finally, he installed a doorbell extender for an upstairs room. We checked everything out, and all worked well. Matt cleaned up all the packaging, and I told him I would dispose of it. Matt is an extremely courteous, pleasant, professional young man, who is an excellent worker. He knows his business as he has been doing it for 16 years. I definitely will contact him in the future for any other electrical needs. Contact him with confidence. You will be very glad that you did.

Matt installed step lights for me on a new outdoor deck. This job was suppose to be performed by another Electrician (Thrifty Electrical-Kevin Waltman) who was completely irresponsible and incompetent. Matt was hired after the job was started by the the previous electrician and not only did Matt have to complete the job but he also had several mistakes made by the previous electrician to fix. Matt and his co-worker Paul were extremely professional and prompt in completing the job. I highly recommend this company and I intend to use Matt again for any future electrical work my spouse and I may need completed.

Matt is through and is great about explaining problems and offering affordable and safe solutions for restoring my electrical system. I have worked with other local electricians but Matt is the only one I'll trust to do electrical repairs on my house from now on. I recommend him for any job large or small.
