Kroll Enterprises built our home which we closed on June 1, 2012. We had twin infants and could not buy a used home and make it our own so we decided to construct a new home. In the beginning, the experience was proving to be fun, inviting, and the people involved were helpful, kind, and professional. Then a multitude of issues arose: Paint throughout the home had to be re accomplished Plastering was substandard throughout home and had to be redone Plaster and painter disagreed on responsibility so some items are still not correct. Shower door guide had to be fixed Island counter top had to be replaced due to gouge Leaking drain under kitchen sink had to be repaired Drainage in back yard was incorrect leaving a pull of water 6 inches deep for up to 7-10 days Backyard has already received additional soil placed in an effort to prevent pooling of water Air vent in foyer had duct tape 'ticking' sound (after three visits) Thermostats were not programmable when installed (after two visits) Media room did not work for 3 weeks until home theatre tech installed new cabling Carpet tack strips caused sharp points to protrude through carpet and hurt people walking across throughout home. Shower in main bathroom had to be readjusted to allow for hot showers Kitchen sink installed incorrectly allowing water to leak into cabinet space Upstairs toilet was adjusted improperly which caused the toilet to run continuously after flushing Front door was not installed properly which prevent tight seal (light could be seen around door through weatherstripping) Garage was to be insulated but missed until I contacted builders superintendent. Insulation installed improperly until I contacted builders superintendent Nails throughout back yard after final grading and cleanup During preliminary planning, surveyor did not properly survey property requiring me to point out errors Fire hydrant, that was represented to be on the corner of the property, was dead center of the front yard. The major problem is, at any one time, Kroll is building multiple (12-15) homes on the property with only one person over seeing the operation. Kroll has minimal oversight of contractors working in your home. The issues listed above have all been resolved after hours of time, phone calls, and subcontractors simply not showing up at times. During a conversation, the owner of the company and I discussed the concerns my wife and I were having and his final words to me were "I'm sorry you aren't happy with your home. Have a good day.". Completely less than professional for someone building homes in this market. Because this is a new subdivision every home is new and multiple conversations have taken place between homeowners adjacent to my property stating the dissatisfaction felt with the quality of work and with the customer service after completion.
