Kempsville Fence & Deck

Kempsville Fence, another great contractor with the best prices compared to their competitors (we know because we had five quotes!). They do very little advertising and their business comes mostly from word of mouth. We are definitely pleased with their quality, timeliness and integrity. They honored their quote to us even though a lot of time had passed before we could move forward with our fence. Our fence looks beautiful and we would definitely refer them to our friends!

they did a great job on my hard and my brothers. Showed up on time, crew was full of nice people. No problems, New gates work great- Price was fair and they did a great job cleaning up. Only downside I was trying to hire them to fix my dad's fence but no matter how I try and contact them phone, text, email, etc.. I never get a reply. I have been trying since last Oct. 2019... here were are almost a year later and still unable to get a replay back. We hired someone else to do part of the job, but would still love to hire them to fix the whole issue and get good working gates in place.

We were in need of a fence replacement and Kempsville Fence did a fantastic job. We received quotes from two other highly rated companies and Kempsville Fence beat their quote by 50%. They installed the fence within 5 days of site visit and were very professional the entire. The fence looks great and they cleaned up everything when they were finished. Highly recommend Kempsville Fence.

From initial contact to install... very good in all ways. Good price, timely instal and quality work. After the work was done, issues arose that resulted in a lower review. Kempsville fence cut two main electrical lines in my yard.. a neutral line and another which manifested after a rainstorm and. Lost power to half my house and resulted in all My surge protectors blowing and my upstairs is AC blowing too. Jim was responsive and referred me to his insurance which paid out. The issues arose when it came time to fix the sunken fence post in the back yard. The power company had to dig under it to fix the power lines and as a result the post sunk a couple of feet. I told him him this on September 4th and he said he would be by the next week to fix it ( my text records are proof) In the same time period it became evident my drain line had been cut during the fence install.. my landscape company showed me the cut line and how it would have been obvious to the fence company. The cut and blocked drain line resulted in my side yard being completely water logged and useless I let Jim know and he said sorry. From that moment (25 sep) he didn’t reply to my texts on Oct 10th, 11th and 17th asking when he would fix my sunken fence post. only when I contacted his insurance company Hartford saying I would have to open open a new claim and use another company to fix the post issue ( and have the insurance company at bill him) did he reply in 22 oct! He replied that same day amazingly and came and fixed the sunken post. 7 weeks to fix the issue he was responsible For! The work the did installing the fence was great... looks good now. My main issue is total Lack of communication from Jim For weeks after an issue... lack of professionalism in responding to clients after the work was done.

Jim and his team did an amazing job! We ended up getting our fence in installments (sides then back) and Jim was more than willing to accommodate us with timing. The price was also good in comparison to other companies in the area. I would definitely recommend again and again!

Excellent. Jim arrived at my home within a couple of hours after my initial contact. He wrote up a quote on the spot that covered exactly what I wanted. After getting 5 other quotes I decided to go with Kempsville Fence because they were the least expensive and I just liked dealing with Jim. The work was scheduled for about 2 weeks later. Jim and his crew arrived as scheduled and they don't mess around. They promptly removed the old fence and installed a new one in about a day and a half. I am very please with the final product and the cost. I highly recommend Kempsville Fence.

This was the most impeccable business transaction I have ever made. This company is 100% spot on in their ability to provide every single aspect that a customer would want and if I could possibly rate them higher than an A I would. i contacted Kempsville Fence because I had heard of them through a friend. I had been informed of the personal service they provide and being that I was in somewhat of a vulnerable predicament I wanted to go with a company I could depend on and trust. From the first contact by phone I could immediately tell this was the right choice. Jim contacted me. He was very patient with me, provided basic information to me without talking over my head, and set up a time in the evening to come out and measure and discuss my options. He showed up promptly with his wife who was equally personable and very wonderful to me. We chatted casually and it was a very nice meeting. My installation was scheduled, on time, perfectly completed, communication before, during, and after completion was perfect, and there is NO other fence company I would ever use. Several months later in May of the following year, my mowing company hit something extremely hard and put a small hole into the first layer of the vinyl on one panel. I contacted Jim by text to tell him what had occurred. True to form within seconds, he responded, asked for pictures, and unbelievably agreed to come out and fix it on his OWN time at NO charge! This is a perfect example of service after the sale. Of course I refused to allow him to do this work for free :-) If you want to use the absolute best company out there and have the BEST quality of work on your fence, then this is the company to use. Hands down, and despite this other stuff I read here, i stand behind Jim Womick and his wife and would never consider another company for fence or deck work. They came out and measured everything and made markings and never came back out to do the work. I contacted them 2 weeks ago and still have not gotten a reply. I would have to use this company in the future because they are the only ones that can match the fence.

I contacted Jim over a year ago for a price quote. He stopped by on a Sunday to meet with us and provided a written quote on the spot for us during his visit. We decided to wait on having the fence built until after we had our pool installed, figuring the pool build would not require the dismantling of the fence for access. When we contracted for our recent pool build and immediately reached back out to Jim and he stopped by to provide an updated estimate as we added the construction of a wind blind around our pool equipment. They showed up for the build and in less than a day has sunk all the posts and constructed the entire frame. They returned the next business day to finish the fence. It looks great and we are very happy with the results. If there were ratings better than "A," I would provide them in a heartbeat!

I contacted this company to provide a quote for one of my commercial properties. I reached out through their web site and did receive a response that they would be out the following day to look over the site. Never heard back, sent emails and left messages. Nothing.

The fence they installed is beautiful. They were on time. They cleaned up very well after themselves.

Overall, he came when he said he was going to come. He was very professional, very personable. He was very thorough in the backyard pointing out what was what and what needed to be done. He measured.

They were honest. They told me when they would be here. When the ramp they put in didn't work for me, they came back to replace it the next day. I expected to pay more than what I did pay.
