How many of us the best price for the time was to sell it if I hesitated people who were done do not worry, rough me with units and some transform three times done right?

NEGATIVE 20 stars. This company is the biggest rip off. I spent almost 2,000$ for them to assess my unit and tell me the blower needed to be replaced. The blower was replace; however, the problem was not solved so they came back and said I had to replace the whole unit (hvac & ac unit), which would be 6,000$. So I asked what about the 2,000$ I just spent on the old system. They said there was nothing they could do for me and they wouldn't have been able to tell that the entire system needed to be replaced had they not replaced the blower. Kellam mechanical proceeded to gaslight me, saying I didn't understand how hvacs work. Point blank - I don't need to understand how hvacs work because I understand how business works. And you don't charge someone thousands of dollars to then turn around and say that was for nothing and now we have to redo everything, and you can't get that moneyback. Not to mention they spoke to me and treated me completely different than how they treated my dad, who owns businesses in the area and uses them for his work. I want to say we were speaking to a Mike and he was a manager of some sorts.

We have been using Kellam Mechanical services for over 20 years. Recently , we had Kellam Mechanical come out to flush our hot water heater and to give us an estimate for replacement of sink faucets, tub faucets and new toilets. The representative from Kellam Mechanical was Ben Roberts. From the moment he introduced himself, we felt totally comfortable with his work ethics and his recommendations to the replacement of faucets and toilets. He was most thorough in explaining the flushing of the hot water heater and was most informative in explaining what type of faucets and toilets that he would recommend. Not only was he strait forward with his explanations, we felt a genuine concern from him to make sure our needs and desires were met. Ben Roberts was warm, friendly and information. Kellam Mechanical should be very proud to have Ben representing their company. It is employees like Ben that keep us loyal customers of Kellam Mechanical. A+++++

One day before our home inspection in preparation for selling our house, our old water heater began leaking. My wife asked Kellam for a quote for replacing the direct vent heater with a similar system. They told her $2800 and we agreed to that price. When they arrived at the house, they said the price would actually be $6200 because we needed some sort of special system (despite the fact that the old system was a standard builder grade 50-gallon tank heater). With just hours left in the work day and not enough time to find another company to do the work, we agreed to it. We asked for an itemized invoice, which the installation tech said we would get from the managers. Now they are saying the managers are not at work and they only have “flat rate billing.” So they knew we were stuck and with no time to find another company before our inspection and they raised the price by 220%. Yes we agreed to it but it seems pretty clear that they knew we were in a tight spot and took advantage of us. I recommend avoiding them if you possibly can.

Kellam has impressed us in the past and continues to impress us with this project. Not only was the work high quality, they were on time, and this particular project required a good amount of carpentry to replace a fence area. Again, impressed with the whole project with special attention to the fencing work! The fence replacement work rivaled any professional fence installer! Of special note we John Owens and David Page who were here for both full days and saw the project to its full completion. Their oversight and the work of all of the installation teams members was great!

All I can say is MORGAN is the very very best! He came earlier today for the maintenance and around 6pm I noticed one unit was not working. I call Morgan and he came within 30 minutes and fixed the problem! Best customer service from a great Technican! I always request Morgan!!!

Excellent. Kellum has always had the best techs, and Timothy Vlahos was excellent. Very personable and professional, and he detected a problem with the capacitor on the HVAC that I would never have known. He was in and out very quickly, and he obviously cares about his customers. He was very thorough. Another shining star from Kellum!

I have just recently moved into the area (Sept 2020) and purchased an older home that needs lots of updating. Not having experience with any vendors in the area, I called Kellam based on a referral. When I bought the home it had an ancient hot water radiator, a tempermental incorrectly installed geothermal system, a water heater from 1991, and lots of Harry Homeowner electrical "fixes". I asked Kellam for an estimate to remove all the old systems, install new gas/AC systems and a tankless hot water heater and clean up the electrical issues. I received a price that was competitive and gave them the work. Kellam did an excellent job with all of the work that I gave them. All through the process, I felt that they were here to solve my problems with whatever it takes instead of maximizing their bottom line. I'm the kind of guy that asks a million questions and in every case the techs were very patient with me and explained all of my questions to my satisfaction. My HVAC system works great, my home is comfortable and I have plenty of hot water. My wife and I are very pleased. In addition to a great installation, one other thing that I want to point out is the way they took care of my electrical issues. Lots of companies don't want to handle jobs like that because they can be difficult to properly correct. Kellam did not hesitate and they not only fixed the issues that I had found but also some others that I didn't know about. In summary if you want a company who acts more like your very competent friend than a soulless vendor, Kellam is your company. The owner, Scott Kellam, actively manages the business, is an old school stand up honest guy and he trains his staff to be the same way. If you use them, I think that you will be pleased.

Fantastic! This is one amazing company, they do not ever disappoint! Their techs always give 100%, and today I had a planned replacement part installed by Gerald Kearney. He is so knowledgeable, he had excellent tips that will potentially save us thousands of dollars protecting our outdoor hvac system. He went above and beyond, and we are so grateful. We always have amazing service with Kellam!

Never followed thru to schedule appointment -- Kellam notified me they would schedule work but did not.

I've worked with other HVAC companies in the 20 years I've lived in Hampton Roads. Kellam is the best I've worked with in this time. Their service workers are very competent, pleasant and always explain things well and answer all my many questions. They have good advice for problems that arise in my systems. Recently I had my seasonal service check. The most recent service engineer I had, Tim Baker was prompt (even on the 2nd visit when he was going to be delayed he called and explained when he would get here), pleasant and great at explaining options for the item I needed to fix. I'd highly recommend Kellam!

It has gone very well. Multiple problems caused by water have been resolved.

The installation of the gas line and the hot water heater went well. The problem is that no one knew how to solder joints and they left a mess that has required that I hire a professional plumber to come in and totally redo the pipes to and from the hot water heater. They were contracted to put in cut off valves, verbally on the inside of the house, but they used the valves in the heater as the point of the contract. The solderless joints they used CANNOT be home repaired. They put in a water filter that weighs 10-15 pounds suspended from the 3/4" pipes and not secured. In general, they do not have professional plumbers. If you use them, identify every part, corner, turn, connection, and inch you want because the work will look nothing like you imagined.

Kellam Mechanical has amazing customer service and punctual response time. I called them on one of the hottest days yet this summer and a technician arrived within two hours. Other companies had told me it would be a week or more before they could come out! The technician was very professional and I was impressed by his knowledge and willingness to thoroughly explain the problem and repair process. I would highly recommend this company for all your HVAC needs!

Gerald was at my house about 2-3 hrs after I called Kellam. He had the system repaired within an hour. He was knowledgeable and insightful and just absolutely took care of the job. I even signed a maintenance contract with Kellam. Can’t tell you how happy I am with them right now!

They were very responsive (same day) and completed the work while they were here. The technician was very professional and tidy. In dealing with other plumbing companies, Kellam stands head and shoulders above the rest. I would recommend them.

Excellent service from beginning to end. Trustworthy and reliable work performed by technician Joe Baker. Had annual maintenance done with some repairs.

The company said they do not do that and needed to contact another company. I did have the plumber fix my emergency shut off valve in the house. The only down fall is when you turn the emergency valve off water still runs out of the faucets.

I was able to get same day service. my technician replaced the wax ring with another kind that solved the problem and no leaking since. Service was prompt, and every thing was explained to me.

Joe Baker was amazing, very friendly, professional, and helpful. My smoke detector went off because my heating unit had melted wires. They called me back in less than 30 minutes and was out by 930 am and able to replace my entire unit the next day! I called other places and they were not as responsive! I could not be more impressed with Joes friendliness and willingness to walk me through everything step by step as I was clueless. I can’t thank him enough for making sure my family was safe and warm!

I got a discount due to making the technician's job easier so I'm happy. :)
