JES Foundation Repair

5 push poles were inserted under the crawl space and a support pillar was placed in the basement. These 2 jobs were performed well as far as I can tell. During the discussion of the work, I was promised that the brick work would be repointed and that the cinder blocks would receive new grout where they separated from the original brick foundation, which is the reason that I went with this company. However, the brickwork was never repointed, nor was the other foundational work completed. When I asked why, I was told that it was not in the job description, even though I have an email saying that the company would take care of the work. This work was completed 2 months ago. I have called and emailed multiple times and I never get a response. Once the company has your money, they stop communication. I would not recommend this company.

I specifically asked for crawl space vent installation and some superficial brick repair on the foundation - an hour later, after a completely unrelated sales pitch, I am told that you all do not in fact do the work I specifically requested and scheduled an estimate for. They sell you product you dont need, all while iterating over and over that their product is based on "science"...there's no science to it - its all business ($8,000-12,000 per house). Trust me, its a scam. If you hire JES, you're paying the owner's big salary, an army of slick salesmen, and paying for a bunch of TV ads.

All went as planned. I would use them again.

I was horrified! I called for an appointment and a very nice woman called me back. She said they couldn't schedule an appointment for almost 2 months. I was actually okay with that since it wasn't an emergency and I thought they must be good to be that busy. She then told me I needed to schedule 90 minutes for the "inspection". I figured it would be a 20 minute inspection and a 70 minute sales pitch. Then she asked if my husband would be home. When I told her, "No", she said, "The appointment is almost 2 months away. Can't he change his schedule?" I've had contractors before who only want to deal with "the man of the house" and I have refused to do business with them, as I have now with JES. This is 2018 NOT 1918. I needed a solution and to be treated respectfully. I got neither from JES.

I was extremely impressed with the JES certified field inspector, Todd Simmons. He was prompt and professional in addressing my concerns with the structural integrity and foundation of our home. Most impressive was the level of integrity that Todd displayed when providing an honest assessment. Admittedly, I was reluctant to request an estimate fearing the results (costly repair). Todd reassured me that he was salaried and not working on commission, which enables him to give honest assessments versus trying to secure a sale. This put me at ease and made me feel that I could trust Todd and JES. Overall, Todd was trustworthy in providing an honest assessment and recommendation. I would most definitely recommend JES (especially Todd Simmons) for foundation or structural repairs.

The estimator, Roy Burks, was on time and was courteous and well prepared. He took time to explain the work to be performed. The quote received was more than double than that of a competitor. The estimator asked for an opportunity to review their quote and, if possible, match their price or at least reduce his quote. Once provided with a copy of the competitor's quote, the estimator disappeared. I have not heard back from him even after sending an inquiry about the status of the review of the quote. This is very disappointing seeing as I received several recommendations for JES from realtors that work in the DC area. I will be sure to pass along my experience with JES to them. My impression is that JES doesn't need the work and therefore gave a very high estimate, hoping I would just go away.

I would recommend JES to anyone looking for an A+ company for foundation work. Roberto, Fausto and Camilo were the best guys JES could have on their staff. They were on time everyday. They explained the work step by step. These guys never disrupted my life at all. They sealed my crawl space, put in a sub pump and raised the house using a laser level with a steel beam w/ 3 jacks as described before the work was started. They never did anything that was not explained first and thoroughly. With three days of work, they were in and out. Now my home is more comfortable that it was before the work started. The commercials are real. I will call JES again when I need their services. You should too!

Christian Distler-Caravetta is a consummate professional. I had a foundation problem and e was very helpful in making sure I had the details of what the problem was and fully explained the solution. Christian is easy to talk to and ensures there are questions on how and when he can have a crew fix the problem. I would highly recommend him and JES to solve any water or structure issues. He represents JES with a high degree of honesty and professional knowledge

Rep was personable enough, but tried to sell me thousands of dollars in products and services that I did not need, and used his advanced diagnostic system to try to convince me that my home was in imminent danger. I had 2 other companies well-rated on Angie's List come out and assess the cracks, and was told each time that they were minor settling cracks, and not an issue structurally. JES called to follow up, and I asked them if their reps are paid by commission, to which they responded in the affirmative. I told him that I didn't appreciate the high-pressure sales tactics (I was told that, when they gave me a quote, I had to respond before the rep left in order to get the quoted price, etc.) I told the calling rep that, if we needed their product (foundation jacks) in the future, I would call them because it was the best tool for the job, not because I was pressured and scared into purchasing it.

Very well. Bryan Lara Martinez and his crew were very professional. Called and let me know when they would arrive. Bryan showed me the intellijack stabilizers and explained how they would be used. Kept me apprised of all the steps that had to be taken. They cleaned up every day before leaving. Very pleased with the job performed. No more sagging walls and creaking floors. Very courteous. Would definitely hire again. Also showed me pictures of the work done.

Bryan McRae was very prompt. He expeditiously inspected and recommended a solution to get operation back up and running. He went beyond the scope of repair and inspected the 2 other sump pumps and dehumidifier to ensure their proper operation. Bottom line: everything is now operating efficiently and ensuring our confidence we have a dry crawl space. We couldn't be happier with his work, his prompt and courteous service. Had some mold, insulation and humidity issues and decided it was time to end the drama once and for all. Work started within a week of signing the contract and was completed in three days (3,000+ square foot crawlspace). “Tiger” and his crew treated our home as if it were their own. Respect, professionalism and proactive communions were the hallmark throughout the process. Only regret, wished we had made this investment five years ago when we bought our home! They put new Joyce's under half of my house in about 30 or so hours. Pulled down all insulation left that laying under house. Had to play someone else to get that out. My floors are all unlevel. Then there were about 40 boards left over. They put them back on truck. I asked if I had played for them. They said yes so I told them take them back off truck. For 25,000.00. Dollars I feel screwed.

Went well. Got a quote, came the day they said they would; became a 2 day job, but you have to expect that for any work being done. They cleaned up and hauled away debris. I did have a small issue with ducting that got pinched/moved during encapsulation. When I discovered this; I called, they they saw it through and took care of it, no questions asked. A couple unexpected benefits to this product besides solving moisture problem. My downstairs room temperatures are much more even and comfortable; and seems to help with heating and AC bills. Also, I no longer have to worry about freezing pipes.... no more dripping faucets! (but I still shut off outside spigots from the inside for winter).

Tom T. did an excellent job, and even rewired one of the alarms where another contractor had recently cut the wires while doing some unrelated work. I trust JES to do excellent work. I am no longer concerned about the condition of the basic structure of my foundation and flooring. And I will have them back annually to keep it that way.

Troy Hofheimer of JES inspected our home's extensive foundation damage. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and punctual. He worked through a complicated situation, explained his proposal very clearly, gave us alternatives, and impressed us with the high quality of materials and workmanship JES provides. Had we not chosen to sell the house with full disclosure, we would have used JES. If we decide to do some minimal repairs, we will definitely choose JES. Troy and the company are exceptional.

The pilings were hydraulically driven into the ground until they reached solid strata. Steel saddles were tightened onto the concrete foundation and appears to have had some effect. Work has a lifetime transferrable guarantee. Time will tell how successful this repair was.

HOW TO LOSE A LOYAL CUSTOMER IN 10 MINUTES.long time customer of jes. in 13 had foundation work done, great job. follow up trip 6 months later just as good, now 5 years later , what a change.set app up to come out and check jacks and give estimate on chimney ,. 1st time was a no show, hey it can happen resched and got a voice mail stating tech would be out between 8 and 11 , well got here at 2 pm, well already had the day off so worked with him he diagnosed the chimney gave me an estimate , i agreed , we signed a contract and i gave him money, the time was set and as far as i knew all was good. 4 days later get a call from tech saying i need to talk to a david kidd.ok so this am get on the phone,he comes on and starts out he needs at least 2500.00 more to do the job, of course my reaction is sir, i have a signed contract for services provided, at which point he states jes plans to tear up that contract. i am taken aback and state that jes already has my money. he comes back with we'll get it to you. i say sir i dont understand , i spent an hour on the phone with your office and as far as i know we set an install date of dec 1.he then states no one is coming to my house on dec. 1. at this point i say sir it seems to me you dont want my bu...and the line goes dead. thats right the line goes dead.im in shock i go on with my day come home and nothing , like i have fallen off the face of the earth.now im looking to have to pay for a stop payment on my check unless they have cashed it already.. a seemingly pleasant 5 year relationship with jes down the tubes in 10 minutes. this morning the last thing i had planned to do was write this review today.

All went perfectly. I was met at the house where the work was explained to me and agreed upon. A few weeks later they came out and pumped some type of filler under the porch. Sealed it up perfectly. Would not hesitate to call again.

The entire crew-from sales to installation and follow-up were extremely professional. The salesperson provided me with excellent, well-researched material about crawl space encapsulation and was always available to answer my questions. The installation crew were extremely neat and efficient. They provided everything that they promised. I personally checked the installation and the quality of their work exceeded my expectations. The follow-up team made sure that all "loose ends" were addressed after completion of the job. I could not be more pleased with the results. This is a very capable and efficient team of professionals. My crawl space is now clean and dry. I would highly recommend JES to anyone considering crawl space encapsulation.

The repair was done within the estimated timeframe (2 days). The service technicians arrived on time, made the repair and cleaned up as well as they could since a large amount of dirt had to be excavated and distributed near the dig site. For the purpose of this review, I didn't seek other estimates for the work because the price quoted me seemed reasonable.

First the technician called to delay the appointment, and then the morning, an hour before the appointment, called to cancel. He was supposed to call me the next day to reschedule. Two weeks later I received an email from the office asking about rescheduling.

Excellent. Work was completed within 5 days of obtaining estimate. Very professional.
