Let me start at the beginning. I did check here on Angie's List to try to find a company that would come to my house, and take away my wall-to-wall carpets, a very heavy sofa from the 60's, two wood and upholstered chairs, and one bulky club chair. No luck finding anyone here. So. I googled "Virginia Beach Yellow Pages" and got YP.com, which gave me a list of several companies whose primary function is supposed to be hauling away garbage. At random, I chose Brown's Hauling. I called and talked with Carol Brown, one of the owners. I told her what I needed and she got quiet and then told me their primary business is dropping off and picking up dumpsters. She was INCREDIBLY nice about this, and even tried to apologize to me. I told her this wasn't her or her company's fault, they had been miscategorized by the on-line Yellow Pages. She then asked me to tell her in detail what I needed. I told her and she asked if she could call me back. She did so within 10 minutes and told me that she, personally, would come out and haul all my carpets and furniture away she then quoted me a price that staggered me $150.00. I wasn't expecting to pay that little, especiallywhen this isn't a service her company provides. I agreed to the price and she told me she would call me when she was on her way. Again, less than 10 minutes later I received the call. Approximately 15 minutes later she arrived and immediately started removing my carpets and chairs. The sofa was problematic and I was getting ready to offer to help her, and she told me that her husband who was on his DAY OFF was on his way to help her with the sofa. He arrived about 10 minutes later. They got the sofa out, and then offered to take some boxes that I had been dreading breaking down, along with the load already in the dumpster. They offered to take my regular garbage that's picked up by the city. All together this transaction took about an hour. So,why am I writing this review when their primary business is dropping off and picking up dumpsters? Imagine how they'll treat YOU when you just need what they are in business to provide. I have another house that will need probably several dumpsters while my family and I clear it out of decades worth of furniture, knick-knacks, rugs, etc. I will be calling Browns Hauling and only Brown's Hauling to handle the dumpsters.
