Description of Work: Went just great. Had a complete bathroom remodel done down to the studs. Bill and crew did a super job and kept the site clean even though we had walls and ceilings removed. |Bill's plumber, plaster crew and electrician were all very talented and have now done other work for me. |The fixtures Bill recommended are the very top quality and the materials they used are beautiful. |The price was more than fair and I was especially please with their attention to details. |Overall wonderful experience. The cost was worth it and the company is easy to work with. We went on vacation during the remodel and the crew locked up each day and kept everything secure. Very trustworthy company.

All the work done was of the highest quality. Bill and his helper arrived promptly in the morning and were very careful to clean up any mess by the end of the day. Progress was constant until the job was completed. Bill was very up front about his cost with a very specific contract. He required progress payments along the way but probably a third was left as the final payment after everything was completed to my satisfaction. I can't say enough about the integrity of Bill Bailey. I have gone on to have him do additional work in my home and every time my wife and I have been very pleased. I would recommend him and his work without stipulation. As a former Chief Warrant Officer (W4) in the US Navy, Bill definitely has a "can do" attitude and very good relationship with his subcontractors. They seem to like and respect him and all have worked for him for years. For example, like all projects sometimes accidents happen. During the plaster work in the attic a 5 gallon bucket of water got spilled. It was cleaned up hastily but resulted in some plaster damage in the room below. My wife and I noticed this in the evening and called Bill. I immediately got a call from the plasterer, apologizing profusely and promising to be there first thing the next day and that whatever the problem he would make it right. And of course he did. The plaster in the room was repaired and repainted within two days. What could have been a sore point was dealt with in a very professional manner. As we speak Bill is here working on another project, porch railing repair/replacement. I was cabinetmaker earlier in life, and have done a number of projects on this old house, downstairs bath, and kitchen. Now at 63 I pick and choose the projects I want to attempt and am glad to have Bill to create the dreams I have for the restoration of this lifelong project/house. One thing I should note. He prices are not cheap, of course neither is his work. His work is "hand crafted" and he charges a fair price for the quality he delivers. That being said you may not think you can afford to pay for such quality. There are certainly less expensive contractors and they may serve you well. All I can say is I have never regretted paying him for what I have received. The old expression "What's cheap is often dear" in other words you (often) get what you pay for. Call me if you would like more details or to come see his work. Norman 757-289-6476
Description of Work: Bill Bailey, Handcrafted by Bill, had done a number of jobs for friends and he came very highly recommended. Initially hired him to convert a walkin closet at the top of stairs to a stairway to the attic. Not a easy job. He did an excellent job, beautiful oak treads, handrails, and comfortable rise over run with landing. All in a very confined space. Trim details and craftsmanship make it look like an original part of our 100 year old house in Norfolk, Va. The stairway project was sort of a test. I knew I had a lot of work to be done but I wanted to find out how he would handle this project first. Satisfied with his ability to "hand craft" the remodeling work himself along with a helper or two and a good stable of subcontractors to handle details like plaster work (important in old houses), electrical, plumbing, flooring, etc. I decided to include the next phase of renovation, the attic. Now that we could get up to attic by stairs, formerly we had to use the original pull down folding stairway. That stairway and whole house fan had to be removed and plastered over. (You would never guess anything had ever been there now.) The attic had been a dirty, dusty, mess with fiberglass batts falling down and massive heat loss/gain apparent. I had the underside of the slate roof sprayed with 3 inches of closed cell foam which resulted in a very tight well insulated, heatable and air conditionable space. I had the AC company move the air handler behind a knee wall Bill built after they moved duct to below floor level. Bill refloored attic after his electrician rewired existing wiring bringing it up to code before burying it. Knee walls had pocket doors to access storage areas, sheetrock and plaster finish, new larger windows at one end, a small closet, a window bench seat along one end to cover large duct work, recessed lighting, and carpeted floor. All of these details and more turned this unusable space into a very nice comfortable room the length of the house. This room now doubles as an extra bedroom (inflatable mattress), home gym/yoga room, alternative tv/video room.

It started in April and will probably finish here in another couple of weeks. He gave me an outstanding estimate about what it would cost and so far we are three quarters way done and he has been right on what he said. He is excellent. The quality of work is superior. I would use them again if needed to.
