Generation Tile and Stone is a family owned business with over 30 years in the trade, and it shows. The estimate was provided within 3 days of my initial call. They directed me to Mosaic Tile for new tile selection - this company was also very professional and easy to work with. The tile work began on time and took 4 days to complete - demolition work was completed, the old tile remoived, and the existing subfloor resealed. The new tile was firt installed on the shower wall, then the floor. This took 3 days, with the final step being the re-grouting. Lynn did the work, and often stayed late to make sure the job was completed on time and correctly. I would use this company again, they did excellent professional work.

Although I would probably use this company again because of their very good price (as compared to other companies that gave us quotes) and the high quality of the end result, I would only recommend them for someone who didn't have a strict time line. It was a little tough getting in touch with them. The job took longer than they originally projected and they were definitely a bit disorganized as to when the job would be done/who would be doing the actual work. We weren't on a strict schedule, so it wasn't a huge deal for us but I can see where it might be a problem for someone else. They ended up having us finish caulking the shower ourselves, which seemed a little unprofessional (but wasn't difficult). That being said, the actual tile work looks FANTASTIC and everyone who has seen it has been very impressed. They paid attention to small details (they even lined up the seams of the tiled walls with the seams in the floor so that it creates a seamless, continuous look) and the materials they used were high quality.

Three contractors bid off the same punch list. The bids came in at $4500 (this one not addressing all items on the list), $2200 (Generation), and $1850. We picked Generation Tile because I felt Nathan (owner) had the type of personality I could work with and seemed like he really cared about how the finished product would look. We bought all the tile and supplies, but Nathan kindly picked it all up (from two different tile stores) and unloaded it all in the garage. Nathan was our advisor on how much of what we needed. We conferred throughout the job bouncing suggestions off of each other. He and his "sidekick" were always on time, showed up when they said they would, always left the bathroom clean between steps, approachable and friendly. He painstaking searched multiple times for the threshold until HE was happy with it. When the shower glass people went to install the shower door, they drilled the holes on the wrong side of the shower wall. Nathan came out and replaced those shower tiles without charge! From beginning to end working with Nathan and his crew (the Generation name is true as his dad was here from time to time) was a delight and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. The bathroom truly is a showplace now. Nathan made me feel like he was doing HIS OWN bathroom. That's how much pride he has in his work. By the end of the job, he felt more like a friend than my hired tiler. We will be gutting the hall bathroom this fall and Nathan will be my tiler for that job as well. His wife Ali is his right hand gal and is also a delight to work with. Calls always were either answered or returned in a timely fashion. E-mails were also answered almost immediately. This is the only company I'll ever use again for my tile work!! They went above and beyond our expectations. If you decide to go with Generation Tile, Nathan and Ali, you will NOT be disappointed and most likely overly impressed.
