Geek Squad - Best Buy

They broke our computer that we brought in to get a hard drive swap. They offered a very cheap no name computer as a replacement that was worth hundreds less than our broken one. They wouldn’t tell us how our computer was broken, wouldn’t let us see it or have it back. I suspect they dropped it and won’t admit to it. They never apologized for the whole ordeal and were very rude and unhelpful. If I could give them zero stars I would. Don’t have Desiree help you she was awful to work with. Very rude, unhelpful, refused to answer any questions or be honest or apologize for the situation. The phone call to tell us was just awful, we had to ask what happened five times before they clarified and admitted to breaking our computer.

Once he started doing th installation he was great. We were very satisfied overall.

Everything works, execpte the surround sound does not always turn on with the remote due to its location. The two gentlemen who did the work were very neat, and very courteous.

Some issues remained & Geek Squad returned on a timely basis to address issues.at no additional cost.

It went well. They went about their business of installing my system and informing me of how it works. They knew how to do their job. They were polite and told me if I needed help in the future to call them.

I tried to get the delivery date changed to accomidate my needs, they were unable to move the date up to accomidate my needs. So now i'm stuck with an underperforming tv and no recourse but to wait. Don't use these guys unless you want to wait over a week to get your new tv delivered and set up.

Ronnie is an awesome person and a great employee of Best Buy. He takes tremendous pride in his work.

I originally brought my new computer to the Geek Squad in March to get the memory up graded. I brought the chip needed to do this With me which I got from from HP. However the Geek Squad told me I had the wrong chip and sold me one of theirs but when I got it home my computer started to crash. I had memory problems and I thought it was a virus since the memory chip was brand new. After many tries to repair it myself I contacted The Geek SquadBest in July and asked them to remove the virus. After I brought it in the Geek Squad told me that the memory chip I had purchased from Best Buy was bad and that I needed a new hard drive on top of this. Since it was under warrantee I requested that a diagnostic be run to verify what was wrong with the hard drive and which of the two memory chips was not working. I was called twice by the same technician during a 2 week period to tell me he was working on the diagnosis and would get back with me that day but he never did get back with me. Also during these calls he stated he had a lot of other jobs to work on first. I am very disappointed in the service and lack of response from the Geek Squad. He never returned my calls and after 2 weeks I had to go to the Geek Squad (Best Buy) and get my computer and finish the repair elsewhere.I had purchased a service contract for senior citizens and I believe he let my work go til last because of the senior citizen contract.. To me this is obvious descrimination. Also it appears to me that the Geek Squad tried to sell me a memory chip I didn't need which caused the original problem. Although I am extremely disappointed in this service I must say in all fairness that the Geek Squad did stand back of this error by replacing the defective memory chip. However I can't afford to waste time and money correcting these mistakes as I'm starting a new business. Two weeks is far too long to wait for repair service that is advertised to be completed in 3-5 days.

I spent $7000 for the whole system. There were components in the ceiling installation and it was a whole deal and I think I spent about $1500 on the Geed Squad. They were great. They knew what they were doing and they showed up on time. The way they did the installation was first quality and they were really helpful. They were very technically competent people. They did the TV mounting and they put the speakers in the ceiling and so they look really nice and they are not sticking out of the wall. They knew what they were doing. They came and looked at the room, measured it and it was first grade.

They were able to diagnose our problem with our computer right away. They did give us an estimate on the parts and labor before starting the work. They did the installation of our new hard drive quickly and it runs great. The repair technicians were very knowledgeable and explained everything in great detail to us. I was very satisfied with their service.

The quality of work was unsatisfactory. It ended up breaking again after they repaired it. They were very professional and polite when they came. They answered all of my questions, but didn't fix the problem completely. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone in the area.

THE DELIVERY WAS ON TIME AND THE INSTALLATION WAS EXCELLENT. IT WAS A HARD DELIVERY TO THE UPSTAIRS. THE SURROUND SOUND WAS ALSO INSTALLED AND AN EXCELLENT JOB.
