The men came out on the day we had agreed upon and placed sand in the crawl space and installed vapor barrier. I received a call that afternoon from the man that I had contracted to do the work and he informed me that the work was completed. He stated that all of the sand was in place and the mold treatment had to be done by hand, whatever that meant, and that all trash was cleaned up and everything looked good. I came home and did a walk around the house and picked up a couple of handfuls of trash that they had missed. I knew that they had removed my foundation vents to get the sand under the house so I checked all of them out. They had broken/damaged seven or eight of those and most of the vents were not secured back into the foundation. They were just sitting in the opening and if you touched them, they would fall out on the ground. I also noticed that a wrought iron trellis that had to be moved so that they could get to the foundation vent behind it, had been damaged. I had installed it originally by just pushing it into the soil in the flower bed, when they put it back in place, they used a hammer to beat it into the soil. When they had the sand delivered, they had it placed on my driveway adjacent to an enclosed utility trailer that I keep next to my garage. This trailer is fairly new and had no damage anywhere on it. I noticed that a dent had been knocked into the side that was across from where the sand pile had been. It appeared that someone possibly dropped a shovel and the end of the handle struck the side of the trailer, denting it and scratching the paint. In the rear of the house I keep a hundred foot garden hose on a storage hanger. they had used my hose and instead of coiling it up and placing it back like they found it, they just tossed it in that direction when they left. I called "Eric", the contractor, and expressed my displeasure with how things had been left. A few minutes later he came to my home and I showed him everything that I had found and he said that he would take care of the problems. The next day Eric came to my home with some foundation vents that he had purchased from Lowes or Home Depot and discovered that they were too small and would not work without adding something to fill in the gaps around them. I told him that I wanted the original vents like were there when the house was built and he said that those were no longer available. I told him not to do anything else and that I would get back with him. I went on line and found the original manufacturer of the vents and called them. They gave me the name and number of a local building supply and said that I could order them through that company. I called them the next day and ordered the vents and received them a few days later. In the mean time Eric sent me a text message stating that if I would pay for the vents and forget about the other damages, that they would reduce my bill by approximately 30%, and that they would come out and install the new vents once I had them. I replied that I was going to go under the house the next day and inspect what had been done and then i would get back with him. The next day I went under the house and as soon as I went into the crawl space I began seeing problems with the work they had done. The poly vapor barrier was not the thickness that I had requested, it was cut short by as much as foot in some places, not meeting the foundation wall as it should. I found places where it was only overlapped at seams by approximately one inch. It should have been overlapped by six inches. There are places where it is missing all together and a place where they had left it folded back on top of it's self and left bare soil. I found that a lot of the insulation that they were supposed to secure was still hanging down. There are places that instead of securing the insulation, they apparently just peeled off layers and disposed of it. There are places in the vapor barrier that when they were apparently cutting poly for another area, they cut through the poly that they had already placed, leaving slashes through to the soil. They had also knocked one of my flex ducts loose for the HVAC and the AC was blowing out into the crawl space. I saw no evidence of any treatment for mold as they were supposed to have treated all of my floor joists with a chemical spray . I reconnected the flex duct, I still have to install the replacement foundation vents. The vapor barrier needs work and I still have the damage to my trailer and trellis.
Description of Work: Sand needed to be added in crawl space, mold treatment, secure insulation, install new vapor barrier

Eliminator came out & checked out our yard for a termite swarm. Duke had determined that it was coming from the mulch next to our house. They took care of it for no charge. Eliminator has been taking care of our home & some of our rental properties for over 10 years. They our thorough and everyone that they have ever sent out has been very respectful of our property. I would highly recommend them!

Elimator Terminator is a Family owned Business. Lisa takes the phone calles to set up appointments and Eric "Duke" Trotter and his crew come out to do the Inspections and treatments Even if I found a Company who might charge a little less I would not switch! They are so Friendly and Personable and Trustworhy! I grew up in a small town in Kansas and they remind me of the people I knew from home. When you schedule a visit you know who's coming to your house and they know me by name when I call. I would highly recommend them! And I do all the time. But I think they deserve to be on Angies List!
Description of Work: I had a "Sworm" of Termites right after I purchased my Town Home in the Spring of 2010. I called Eliminator Terminator and scheduled an appointment. They came right on time and fixed the problem. I keep a contract with them which I renew yearly when they come out to inspect for recuring termite infestations. I have had none in 3 years. ( Town Home is attached to other town homes on either side.) The contract renewal is $85.00 each year. They come out and do a full inspection of any evidence of tirmites return. They Guarntee retreatment at no cost if reinfestation to my building.
