My insurance company sent a plumber from Drain Masters and it literally was the worst experience I've ever had with a contractor. The job should have been simple for a trained professional (fix leaking hot water heater). The "plumber" had NO IDEA what he was doing. The water heater was over 11 years old and the plumber said it was a 2011. When he was supposedly fixing the leak he was not strong enough to turn the wrench so I had to do it for him. After he was finished I asked if he was sure it was fixed, he said yes and I signed a paper saying they guaranteed their service and paid $125. The next morning the same leak was much worse coming from the same area where he "fixed" it less then a day earlier. Several days and many phone calls later the owner came out with the plumber and tried to say the first leak was fixed, but fixing it, it caused another leak which wasn't their fault. He said he would only refund my money if I paid him A LOT more money to replace the entire hot water heater. The owner could not accept the fact that his plumber was not qualified and did not fix the leak in the first place. His utter lack of professionalism and integrity was overwhelming and his ego prevented him from admitting the job was not done properly. I ended up calling another plumber who did an outstanding job with zero issues.
Description of Work: My hot water heater was leaking at the top of the heater where the pipes entered the tank. The tank was obviously older but he thought is was only a little over a year old since he couldn't understand how to read the date on the tank. It was a 2001 and he assured me it was a 2011. Instead of really understanding where the leak was and how to fix it, he did something to the pipes that actually made the leak worse. Unfortunately I had to take his word the leak was fixed since the tank was drained and could not wait until it refilled to confirm. The next morning my den floor was flooded with more water then it had before and the water coming from the exact same location. After several days and phone calls to Drain Master, the owner came out and tried scamming more money out of me to replace the heater instead of fixing the poor work previously performed. My overall experience with them was absolutely horrible.

Mr. John did not come back himself to do the work after the weekend, but sent one of his helpers. The work was done, but he ran later than was promised which made us miss an appointment of which the plumber had been informed ahead of time. He came one hour later than he would be. He had also forgotten to bring a part and asked us to look up the company Ferguson, on the computer where he needed to go to and did not know to find the shop. On top of that he asked the directions to be printed out, most unprofessional! Quite a mess was made, but the cleaning up afterwards was not good. We needed to spend quite a bit of time, cleaning up the floor and the space under the sink after the plumber had left. When the final bill was presented it added up to $1196.22. The charge for the Delta Model 4353-DST alone was $498.72. That seems an unreasonable price for a faucet since they are available on Amazon for less than $200. This was not a good experience for us coming from abroad and just moving into a newly bought 15 year old house. We wonder if we were taken advantage of because the charges seem much too high. Was it because of an accent in the spoken English language? or because we were people new on the scene? or because we are two female seniors? I made a call to Mr. John to complain and was told that a discount of $42.50 could be applied which made that we paid totally for the check up and the completed service still $1196.22, which is much more than the $1050 that was quoted.
Description of Work: The plumber and owner, Mr. John came last Friday, November 16, 2012 because we called to ask if he could check our leaking kitchen sink. We were warned that it would cost $89 for the inspection and an additional if work needed to be done. A neighbor had looked at the sink and said that the sprayer and faucet were the cause of the leak, so we had bought a new faucet and sprayer. When Mr. John saw it he was disgusted with the quality, albeit willing to put it in, but telling us that the payment for the work would not be worth it. He also concluded that we needed a new disposal. We asked the price. He informed us that the total of the faucet, a Delta Model 4353-DST and a garbage disposal of an unknown brand, was going to be $1050 including the $275 for the work that was charged in addition to the $89. Nothing had been mentioned about a $20 Fuel Charge. The plumber would buy the parts and quarantee his work and it all would be done for $1050. Since we are new to the neighborhood and do not know much about this place, we agreed. One of us is an elderly retired female living on Social Security while the other is about to retire as a teacher.

I don’t remember what the cost was. Working with them always goes well with this company. I would recommend them to others. I would tell others that they respond back immediately, they are efficient and they give a discount to repeat users. They are always good.

The repairman was on time and very professional. Quickly completed the repair. He noticed the toilet was making a strange noise. He asked permission to look inside the tank. Found the problem and made the adjustment - no charge.
Description of Work: The bathroom shower wasn't working properly. When the shower was turned on more water ran out of the faucet than the shower head.
