Don was amazing! He was in constant contact from the first moment I contacted him. He found the source of the leak in approximately 20 minutes and had it repaired in under an hour. The best part- he charged me about 1/2 of what the plumber my condo association sent the night before. I hope I never have the need to use Don again, but if I do, I won't hesitate to call. One of the best contractors I've had in my home!

Don on time and replaced shutoff valve and then replaced toilet. Some hiccup found when existing flange on floor was partially broken but Don was able to fix it so able to use without having expensive replacement of entire flange. No leaks as of this writing, so very satisfied.

Don's Plumbing Service did an excellent job and charged a very fair price! I called Mr. Don Ashby on the evening of the 18th of February and asked him if he could come over to fix my sink the next day. He moved some appointments around for me and we scheduled an appointment for 5:00pm the next day. Unfortunately, I was the one late for the appointment because of rush hour traffic, but he waited for me, even though I was 20 minutes late. He was very professional and polite. He examined the problem and gave me a very fair quote. He went to work immediately and fixed the problem within an hour. He left the work area clean and the drain working perfectly. I will definitely use his company in the future and I highly recommend his company to anyone who needs the services of a plumber who does great work and charges a very fair price.

Don's showed up disheveled with torn and ragged closing. I do understand coming from a work site, however a clean and neat looking hoodie would have been better than what he presented. Don did not ask a lot of questions however he did go into the attic to see if a run could be placed up there. Don did show up when he said and he was professional in demeanor but not dress. Don said he would get me an estimate within the day thought i have yet to receive anything from him or the company. I will not recommend him based on the above. I cannot comment to his work

I could not use my washing machine because the drain was plugged and the waste water was flooding the washing machine area. I called Don. We scheduled the appointment promptly. Don came when he said he would. He came with the tools and men to perform the job. The job entailed going up on my roof and snaking the drain from the roof. Heavy machinery had to be used. Don came with everything necessary to perform the job in a quick and efficient manner. Don was professional. The price was more than fair. The service was excellent. I've used Don before. I wouldn't use anyone else for my plumbing problems. He's great.

I called Don on the 29th about a leaking shower valve I wanted replaced, and he made time to see me the next day. He was professional but friendly, happily addressing my thoughts and concerns both on the phone and in person. Don and his partner were punctual and efficient, calling me to let me know when they were on their way. The replacement went smoothly, until we were doing a quality check and found the new valve's bypass feature for the bath wasn't working properly. Without question or complaint, Don and his partner started troubleshooting, and eventually took the valve back to the supplier and swapped it out a second time. There was no extra charge, so Don basically did the same job twice, for the cost of doing it once. These men are professionals, who clearly care about doing a quality job and keeping a positive attitude with their customers. I have no qualms recommending them to anyone looking for plumbing services in Hampton Roads.

Not bad at all good work. Completely happy with the work done... I'm not sure about the date but still good work!

He came in and replace the bolts on a wobbly toilet that had pulled loose from the flange. Reinforced the bolts with extra nuts to prevent them from coming loose. Caulk around the toilert and did a good clean up of the area. He was very polite and courteous and finished the job professionally.

I noticed a puddle of water on the downstairs floor below my bathtub after I showered. I called Don's because of the good reviews on Angie's List. He arrived (with an assistant) 30 minutes past the scheduled time, but called to let me know they were delayed. I have an opening in the wall to access the area behind the tub so he was able to look for the leak. He could see water stains on the wood on one side of the tub and thinks the leak is coming from an accumulation of water. His recommendation is that I re-caulk around the tub or maybe get a splash guard to prevent water from getting on the floor. They didn't actually have to do anything (and I am very fortunate for that!) I don't mind paying for a house call and assessment of the situation. I appreciate his honesty and would use him again.

Based on other Angie's List reviews, I called Don to take a look at a shower that had a couple of different issues. I explained that this was not an emergency, and we set an appointment for two days later. He appeared on time. The first problem was a sewer gas smell emanating from the shower drain. After going under the house to look at the existing trap, he determined that there was a very slow leak which was responsible for the odor problem. He installed a new trap that day, with immediate relief from the odor. The other issue was a faucet in the shower that allowed hot water out, but not cold. After disassembling the unit, he said that there appeared to be some sort of blockage--perhaps in the manifold--that was causing the problem. Unfortunately, the only way to remedy that was to access it by cutting a hole in the wall. He said that would involve a substantial amount of time and that he wouldn't be able to complete that part of the job that day. He returned a week later (scheduling issues were mine, not his). As he was preparing to proceed with the work, he discovered there were stops on either side of the pipe and noted that sometimes those could become clogged with debris and he wanted to try working on those before knocking a hole in my wall. To my astonishment and considerable relief, 10 minutes later we had a fully functioning shower! What impressed us the most about Don was his willingness to try the simple solution before jumping to the more drastic measures. Because of that, he saved us several hundred dollars. His honesty in this day and age is not only refreshing, but highly commendable. We now consider him our plumbing guru!

Don was very punctual and professional on this very small job. He completed the job quicly and with little fuss at a very reasonable price. He will definitely be the plumber of choice for any future plumbing needs.

He gave me my options, told me the prices, got right to work and cleaned up afterwards. He even made sure I had everything I needed for when the fridge was delivered the following week and followed up following fridge installation when the installers said they couldn't actually attach the water line. I also asked for an estimate to have a garbage disposal installed and will be calling him back to schedule that work. I highly recommend Don's Plumbing, they were courteous, up front about scheduling and costs, and quick and clean.

I have an old tub and faucet with the faucet being an "all in one" kind of faucet. I had one previously repaired that took nearly 2 hours to fix. Don came and had it fixed within 30 min!

We got Don's name/number from Angie's list. We had called others but they didn't return our calls. We needed to repair the water heater at a property we own and are renting out. We met Don at the property at the designated time. He was prompt and curtious and very helpful. He researched to determine if there was a warranty. He examined the unit and detrmined the cause of the failure. He searched for sources and obtained the part and had it rush delivered. He installed it the next day. He also explained details about how the water heater worked that we did not know. We would/will definitely use Don in the future for our plumbing needs. We give him our very best rating.

Once again, Don's Plumbing provided excellent value ($99 for 2 hours of plumbing labor) and quality results. Don was very flexible in scheduling my appointment (he schedules Saturday morning appointments, which is always a plus in my book) and all of my interactions with him leading up to and during the appointment were professional and courteous. Don replaced all three toilets in my house in just under two hours and left the bathroom cleaner than it was when he arrived. I highly recommend Don's Plumbing for anyone in need of a reliable and quality plumber.

He needed to reschedule due to heath and weather which was no big deal but my nanny had to be there when he arrived the next week. He spent about 40 min walking around the house looking for a different access point to the crawl space despite the fact my nanny showed him ALL the options. He was told where the burst pipe was which was right by one of the access points. Once under the house he "repaired" the pipe and called it done. He then ran the kitchen sink for a while and declared there was no problem. He was there a little over the prepaid hour and asked for $12 which my nanny paid him. When I got home, the well pump was constantly running and I quickly realized that he NEVER CHECKED HIS WORK! The pipe was still broken! Plus the sink was just as bad as before, not a surprise since he did not do anything with it. When he came back to really fix the broken pipe, it took him exactly 11 minutes to fix it. It was broken just past his "repair". Then when asked to address the sink again, he declares it a major stoppage. While he thought there should be a clean out, based on the age of the house ,it would likely be under a deck, he refused to look for it a declared it would be well over $100 to cut the pipe clean it out and put on a boot. When I said no, he asked me what my options where since this was a" major stoppage " I told him I did not want him doing any more work for me and he left. I put some enzymes down the sink and the next morning it was clear with no problems since. I should have asked for a refund but just wanted him to leave. This was my first BAD experience with Angies list and boy was it a doozie.

Don did a very professional job and cleaned up everything afterwards. i am very pleased with the outcome and will be calling him again for any future plumbing needs.

All went well. Don called and arrived that afternoon. He access the problems in order to start work the following day. Today I have a new garbage disposal,one new red value,new inside toilet fixture and an unclogged sink. Thanks Don for your Patience ,Price and Professionalism.
