Sears contracts out its installations. DLD is one of two companies that do it for them in the area Purchased dishwasher on Saturday. Asked for Wednesday delivery and installation Received call on Monday afternoon. DLD Plumbing was assigned. They actually offered to install that afternoon. I declined due to my schedule. They told me they would call between 7:00 and 9:00 am on the day of delivery to confirm and provide a window. Wednesday, they called around 8:15; I was fourth on their list, told to expect arrival after 1:00 pm. The installer would call first. At 2:30, received call that "installer was on his way." He arrived 20 min later. Removed old dishwasher; installed new one in about an hour. He appeared professional and competent. He did not seem to mind me watching him work, and he even responded to my dumb questions. No trace of him being there, except for the new washer.
Description of Work: Delivered and installed a new dishwasher purchased at Sears Notes: 1) This was a routine task. I am submitting this report mainly because the only other review was let’s say, somewhat negative. I came close to asking Sears for another company due to that report, so I am glad that I gave them a chance. We had a different experience with DLD. 2) “B” on price is based on $99 quote from Lowes on dishwasher installations.

This was so horrible!! The nightmare started with a phone call from DLD PLumbing at 730 in the morning. Of course they woke me up and that was the first offense. It was obvious they woke me up and certainly did not apologize. She called twice in fact. Very nasty about telling me that they would be out after 200 pm. It was 245 pm so I called the DLD office to find out where they were. I was chewed out for calling (?) I thought they were pretty nasty on the phone and one would expect that you would get a phone call prior to them arriving. NOT DLD! If your wondering where they are and you happen to call you get hit over the head for doing so. Of course they explained they were running behind and he would be there soon. He had to help another guy in Smithfield of all places!WHAT!- their people can not function on their own. I began to worry!! They had one other person in front of me. So I thought maybe 430 pm I would see them. Not even a phone call! So I called and Lynn scolded me and told me that they still were working on getting out of the home they were at at 245!! So DARE I try to call them again! It got to be after 700 pm and I thought for SURE they were not coming. He showed up at 735! So we had a discussion on how long it would take him to complete the installation of my microwave he estimated 45 - 60 minutes. He walked out of my condo at 1015 pm!! He got the microwave installed but only because of me demanding that he remove two screws on the older one's front panel. He would have destroyed it if I would have not been there telling him repeatively to remove the screws. Low and behold-it came out! If I would have not been right there telling him what to do it would have been gutted. I planned on selling the old microwave on craigslist! So when he finally got it in my cabinet he had arranged the outlet inside to occupy most of the back area of the cabinet which caused me to completely re-arrange everything in there. not happy about that. He was writing up his receipt and apparently he thought he was done. So I looked around and the kitchen was a disaster. There was "oatmeal" ALL OVER my countertops, parts, screws, boxes, and all the items he used scattered over my entire kitchen and dining room. In addition there was sawdust all over EVERYTHING in my kitchen. I was furious. Made him clean it up?? amazingly he of course did not accomplish that. I spent an hour cleaning my kitchen after he left!!! I contacted the store manager at Sears and basically they did nothing for me.
Description of Work: This is a Contractor that contracts with Sears for their Appliance Installations and other services. I have had the misfortune prior to this date to experience their services. You would expect it to be a pleasant service and a positive experience since your getting a NEW APPLIANCE in your home. Not so. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I used this company several years ago to install my dishwasher and that went bad. They had to get another dishwasher ordered and came back at least twice each time I had to deal with Lynn of which was extremely unpleasant. Like I say, you expect to have a pleasant experience when it is nothing more than a situation where you are verbally abused by the girls on the phone-Lynn and Debbie.
