Description of Work: I used Different Strokes Painting Co to get interior painting done. They did one room. They did the den done.

Description of Work: I hired Craig Wynn on September 16, 2009 to pressure wash my house and replace some vinyl siding that had cracked (one vertical corner piece and one horizontal bottom piece). Craig pointed out a horizontal piece with a tiny rust spot approximately five feet up from the ground and said it was a nail pop and needed to be replaced. He quoted me a price of $425. I thought this was high and guessed that the high price was because of the piece five feet up, but I agreed to it. He asked for half the fee in advance. I was stupid enough to give it to him. It took over two weeks before he came to pressure wash my house, and he did a so-so job. After repeated calls to come to the siding job, he finally came on November 4, 2009. I went ahead and paid him for the job, but foolishly trusted that he completed the job and went ahead and paid him. I then noticed that the vertical corner piece of siding was put on incorrectly. He did not bother to tuck the piece in under the one above it, allowing water to leak down into it. Moreover, he sliced the piece vertically in an attempt to make it fit. Then I noticed that the horizontal piece of siding with the "nail pop" was still there. I called him back and asked him about it. He didn't seem to remember that it was supposed to be part of the job and I reminded him that he was the one who brought it to my attention and said it needed to be replaced. He said he would come back and fix it. I called him every week to see when he would fix it. Finally, he showed up the beginning of January 2010 put a small piece of siding OVER the old piece. I called him back to complain about the "patch job" and he said "You want me to take all that out again?' I told him he should have done it properly the first time and I was very disappointed that i paid him so much to slap on a patch job.

Description of Work: I agreed to have Craig Wynn with his employees come and perform work in my home. The contracted amount was for 2900.00 however he asked for 950.00 prior to starting the job which I gave him foolishly. He made a date to commence to work. He did not show in fact it took him 2 weeks to come over after repeated calls and him telling me he was coming. He was very inconsiderate, unreliable, untrustworthy and took my money and ran. He worked for one and a half hours to prime coat my ceiling in one of my rooms and then I never heard from him. He was supposed to plaster all my ceilings: living, dining, kitchen and 2 bedrooms along with painting my entire home. He did none of those things. I asked him to return my money and he did not. I had to take him to court which I got all except 250.00 for and hour and a half of work!! This person additionally does NOT have a contractors license (he told me he did) and no business license. Do not use him!! 04.27.11 Craig Wynn still has not complied with the state of Virginia. He did not learn "anything" from the experience he had with me. He was contacted by the state for non-compliance. He still has not complied with state law by getting a "State Contractors License either A or C. He is going against the law. Be sure to address any concerns with DPOR in Richmond and take him to court if you got taken advantage of.
