When we first met with Glenn Stagg we were impressed with his background, knowledge and professionalism. Based on prior research, we had already decided on the deck composition and size. Glenn made several recommendations and quickly came back with a proposed contract. Scott Hart was Glenn's employee who actually built the deck. Scott worked in 95 degree weather and was very meticulous and professional and explained everything thoroughly during the construction process. Glenn kept us informed as well. Both Glenn and Scott really knew their craft. The result was exactly the high quality, beautiful deck that we had envisioned. We definitely recommend Decked Out Builders.

They did an excellent job. They are very flexible with a couple things that I wanted changed after they completed the job. Also , they did additional things that were not in the original plans to make the deck look even better. I highly recommend them.

We couldn't have been more pleased. Knowledgeable and professional, they are all expert craftsmen. The work was done in our backyard and everyday they made sure our dogs had a route from the backdoor to the grass. We were kept informed of when each stage of work would take place and about how long it would take. If we think of any more home improvements we want, we will definitely use them again.

Glenn is a great guy, very professional and knowledgeable. Mike, the person who did most of the actual building, is a master craftsman and did amazing work. He was always polite and respectful on the job site, and left the job site cleaned up every single time he was there. The job did take nearly 12 weeks to complete, and Glenn estimated it would take 6-7 weeks, but we had some weather and holidays. And if I have to pick between "fast work" and "fantastic work" I'll take "fantastic work" every time.

Glenn designed the decks with a little flair, and supervised the construction of them by Mike, who is a master builder and perfectionist at his trade. He built 2 backyard decks (one large (16x28) and one small (6x8)) using Wolf decking, vinyl and aluminum railings, and a decorative lattice below the deck floor. All work was under permit and inspected at the appropriate stages by the city. They even suggested and had sand delivered and spread it under the decks to prevent rain from pooling. Mike went the extra mile and repositioned a downspout and replaced some vinyl siding at no additional charge. He cleaned up the work site each day when finished. Both Glenn and Mike were very flexible and amenable to a couple of minor changes to the design that I requested as the project progressed. A neighbor recently told me that he watched the decks being built. He laughed and said "the builder was slow, but did excellent work". The process took a little longer than originally estimated, but we had snow and lots of rain through the month of February. Time was not a major concern for me, as I just wanted the job done right, and it truly was. I interviewed 5 contractors for this project and Glenn's estimate was right in the middle. Other than the expense of the sand (which we hadn't anticipated needing), there were no additional charges. He was always quickly and courteously responsive with answers to my inquiries via email, text, or phone. I would highly recommend Glenn Stagg and Decked Out to any homeowner planning to build a deck onto their house.

Glenn's response to my estimate/proposal request was fast. He listened to my requirements and ideas. I thought I might need a ramp installed and the original design proposal included a ramp. After some discussion Glenn proposed wider/elongated steps to accomplish my needs. His estimate was not the cheapest nor the most expensive. I am of the mind that you get what you pay for, so I took the mid price to avoid addons in the middle of construction. During removal of the existing deck extensive wood rot was found and addressed. Glenn and the construction angels really looked out for me. Repairs were performed at minimal additional expense and the new deck was underway. Rick and his team of "decksperts" were on the job punctually every day the weather didn't interfere. Glenn kept me apprised of progress almost daily. My wife and I are thrilled with the construction and appearance of the deck, overall a great experience.

We could not have picked a better company to do business with. The workers were very nice and did an awesome job. Every time I had a question, it was answered promptly. I would not hesitate to do business with them again and I would recommend them to all.

I reached out to 5 companies before selecting Decked Out Builders. They were not the cheapest nor the most expensive. I selected Decked Out Builders after meeting with Glenn because he was professional and appeared to be fair. Working with Glenn and Rick was a great experience. Rick built the deck so I met with him daily. He was detailed oriented and wanted to make sure the deck design was exactly what I wanted. They were very easy to do business with. When we ran into some minor issues with the existing structure, Rick and Glenn resolved quickly. Communication was great and all my needs were met. I ended up changing a bannister design just before the project finished and Glenn and Rick were able to accommodate the change.

The work started on time as agreed. All railings were capped. Finished project had all edges routed and entire deck was sanded as the final step. Mike must be a perfectionist in the work he does. We have a fantastic, QUALITY job. We don't know how the finished project could be better. On a scale of 1 to 10 our deck is an 11. Our previous deck was just a deck; that's all that can be said for it. Neighbors and friends say this one is "an amazing job." We've posted pictures on Facebook because we were so impressed (and we don't post that often).. We will most assuredly call this company for any future projects.

Let me start by saying that I'm a very picky customer. I think I know more than everyone I hire because I've "done research on the internet". In fact, most of the time I wind up getting estimates and then doing it myself. This was the exception. Glenn and his AMAZING team at Decked Out proved me wrong.....and I've never been so happy to say that. He came out to do the estimate...ON TIME...and he listened....really listened to what we wanted. He took some measurements and told me that he'd have an estimate to me before the end of the week. As promised, he delivered an estimate before the end of the week and it was WAY more than I was planning on spending....but it was WAY nicer than anything I had imagined! So, I had another company quote the same job and they came in $10k more for a lesser quality product. We reluctantly hired Decked Out to remove our current deck and replace it with a beautiful 2-toned Azek deck with curved edges and a hip roof. He started exactly when they said they would and finished a bit late, but only because of the weather and his attention to detail. What his team delivered is nothing short of extraordinary! I thought we were adding a new deck and they gave us a whole new outdoor living space, which had increased the value of our home by WAY more than what we paid! Glenn and his team are a true class act. The kind of business that I hope everyone supports....honest, hard-working, creative, and true to their word. I am a raving fan! Since the completion of my new outdoor space, everyone who comes over wants to know who did my deck. I've never been more proud than to refer them to Glenn Stag at Decked Out.

I am extremely pleased with my 16x25 deck from Decked Out. Glenn, the owner, gave me a great estimate, not the lowest of the five estimates I received, but it was more than competitive. The deck was built over a 2 week period, because of rain delays, by Mike, who does outstanding carpentry work. I wanted to make sure my deck boards did not have any knots, Glenn was the only contractor who assured this would be the case. He chose the boards for the deck and it is beautiful, not a knot in sight on the decking. The quality of the workmanship is matched by the quality of the people. Glenn was great to work with and took care of all our needs. Mike did a great job building the deck and answering all of my questions along the way. I wholeheartedly recommend Decked Out if you need a new deck or any type of deck work. They are great people and a great company to work with.

The whole experience was great. The crew removed all the flooring and carted it off the the dump, rebuiltssome of the footings and did a timely and efficent job. We are most pleased with the results. The crew and owner were here on time and kept the process moving right along. Yes, if we needed more work done on our deck we would not hesitate to have this company do our work.

After the holiday's we began planning for a new deck and screen porch extension. After a lot of research using Angie's List and other means I contacted five reputable (by reputation and reviews) contractors. Decked Out Builders in Virginia Beach touted their many awards in their advertising and their Angie's List reviews were mostly first class. I heard from all the contacted (email with rough plan attachment) EXCEPT Decked Out Builders. Obviously they were not interested in new work and could not afford me the courtesy of a reply. From me they get a big fat F for lack of business manners and courtesy.

This review comes with high recommendation for Decked Out builders. On our first interview Glenn met with us and listened to what we thought we would like to have. He went outside to take measurements and get a look at the the deck location. He shared his thoughts and let us know he would get back to us with a drawing idea by the next evening. As promised we received his email and the drawing which was exactly what we were looking for. It utilized the space perfectly. The design was excellent. We signed the agreement and in a week the material arrived and shortly after they started their work. The builders were very professional and i cannot say enough about the attention to detail. It was excellent. You could see the expertise in the framing. I never had a concern as the job progressed. Any questions i had were answered to satisfaction. The timing of the job was excellent. When the weather permitted they were there working to completion. There was a need to add an additional stair string and a rail. It was added no questions asked and at no extra cost to us. An unexpected pleasure presented to us on the last day. We were more than pleased with the outcome and know this quality deck will give us great enjoyment for years to come. Do hire Decked Out builders and their professional mechanics. I know you will be as pleased as we are!

Glenn was extremely professional as he listened to my plans and then drew up a full scale drawing of the proposed project. He was very accommodating as we went through several revisions due to PUD restrictions on location of various buildings. He sent his best person, Mike to oversee the project and do most of the layout, framing and construction himself. Mike was a protectionist and built me a two tier deck with railing, gazebo and garden shed built better than most new home construction. When the inspector came to do final. Heck, he couldn't believe what care and detail had gone into every aspect from poured footings with hurricane tie downs to the addition of a cupola to accent the top of the roofline. I am very pleased with the choice of materials for the deck being AZEK "Caribbean " with custom boarders in two tone accents and custom benches that added additional seating area without compromising deck space. The prone t also included 500 square feet of herringbone paver to connect the gazebo with the garden shed. The whole project exceeded all expectations.

Glenn and the whole crew of Decked Out were amazing! We had a lot of rain this summer but when we didn't they were always there even with out a full crew working on the project. There were three or four revisions to the design. Even in the very middle of construction when the stairs were not looking good, Glen came out and added to the design. Glenn always listened to my input/concerns (I can be fairly picky) and has a great depth of experience and a really good eye and concepts. He always responded to e-mails in a timely manner. It was a small but very difficult project. The existing deck was large but poorly designed. The concrete pad which had been there 30 years was complicating existing drainage problems. The new deck is smaller but we went with the composite. Glen helped picking the color too. It looks amazing and has added great value to the house. Easy to maintain and will last forever.We are so happy. Thank you so much, to all of Decked Out!

We couldn't be happier with the results! Things went a little slower than anticipated due to weather and the challanges of dealing with existing walls that weren't square, but quality was was my main concern and Decked Out delivered. No corners were cut to keep on schedule, the attention to detail impressed me, our neighbors and even the building inspectors. Next year I hope to have Decked Out replace my existing deck with a larger one that that will be wothy of the roof they installed.

Glenn Stagg met with us to determine our general requirements for a multi-level deck with storage area below. He then provided us with an excellent design that made the best use of available space and handled sloping terrain very well. When Mr. Stagg determined that we had a larger than anticipated setback requirement along our rear lot line, he adjusted accordingly while maintaining the features that we wanted. Scott did most of the construction and his work was nothing short of outstanding. Construction details designed in by Mr. Stagg were executed with the highest level of craftsmanship by Scott and his helper. The finished deck is a functional and beautiful addition to our backyard. We are extremely pleased with Decked Out Builders and will not hesitate to use them in the future. Mr. Stagg explained every detail as we proceeded through the project and he ensured that we were 100% satisfied with the completed job.

The entire process went very smoothly, despite all the awful weather, which caused unavoidable delays. We got several estimates, and Glenn Stagg's at Decked Out was on the low end, but not the cheapest. We chose Decked Out primarily because of the reviews on Angie's List, and the recommendation from someone in our neighborhood who had used this company. (That person's contact info was provided by Glenn.) Glenn met with us and we gave him a general idea of what we wanted. He asked good questions and made some suggestions. Within a couple days, he emailed us a detailed drawing of his design and a detailed estimate. Once we signed the contract and paid a deposit, it was about 3 weeks before he started - again, the weather caused some delay. Glenn did not do the actual work, which was a little bit of a surprise for us, but he did stop by frequently. The deck was built by Mike, an employee of Decked Out, and we were more than satisfied with his work. Whenever he came to a point where something could be done a variety of ways, he consulted us and asked our preference. Mike's attention to detail was outstanding. (I think he actually improved on the original design in a couple instances.) If someone is looking for a deck to be built in record time, then Decked Out is probably not the best choice. But if you want something that is built to the highest standards, then Decked Out should be at the top of your list. One other thing that impressed us was the flexibility Glenn and Mike showed throughout this construction project. While this deck was being built, we had a generator installed right next to it, some landscape lighting installed, and various landscaping projects done - all of which required some coordination between Decked Out and the other contractors. While at times it was like a three ring circus in our small back yard, Mike and Glenn took it all in stride and worked around any inconveniences. The other thing that stands out to me is the excellent level of communication. We were never in the dark about what was going to happen next. We would highly recommend Decked Out.

After losing a lot of faith in the system - getting some outrageous quotes from 6 different contractors, we called Glenn Stagg because of his high ratings on Angie's list. We are so glad that we did! Absolutely one of the most professional contractors we have ever dealt with. Despite my missing our initial appointment Glenn was nice enough to go over the whole job on the phone with me while I was on my way to work! It sounds like a line I know - but no joke - he listened as I described what we wanted and I could tell that when he pictured it - he knew exactly what to do. Within a couple of days we had a quote and after discussing our budget - he was more than willing to work with us on achieving our goal and modifying a few things to come in where we wanted to be. Despite the extreme winter weather we had the job was completed in a very timely manner and the results are amazing. Any changes that we asked for were responded to with prompt 'no problems' and there was no doubt from day one that we would get a quality job. It was excellent. They worked with another contractor that was putting in a drain under the deck. The work was expensive. It was the best contractor support I've ever gotten of all the home improvements I've ever done. Mike was the guy who did the majority of the work and he was extremely meticulous. He was thinking four steps ahead so he never had to go back and rework anything because of not thinking about something in advance. It took a little while to get it done but it was done right the first time. I would use him again. As a matter of fact, he is down at one of my neighbor's right now.

Glenn met me on a Saturday morning to draw the plans and emailed a quote to me promptly. I had used Glenn and his staff for another property I owned in 2008 to build a deck. The work he and his staff perform is exceptional, pays particular attention to detail. They always keep the place clean at the end of each day. Any issues during the project, he contacts the owner to discuss. Glenn stops by to review the work of his staff throughout the project to see if any adjustments need to be made. He has an electrician he uses who also does exceptional work and is very reasonable.

It went very well. GLenn Stagg gave a fair and reasonable estimate, did a better job than other bidders i scoping out the job, and then performed the job according to specs. Richard Boyce, the lead tradesman did a super job and was always, on time, polite, cute outs and an extremely hard worker. The final product is one that we could not be happier with.

Nothing but fine things to say about Glenn Stagg and Decked Out. I have used them twice now--once around 2000 to build a deck and update the front porch and again recently when I moved into a new house for a deck and screened porch. Every aspect of the projects were handled with utmost professionalism--first class all the way at a competitive price. From the initial phone call, the estimate, the delivery of the materials to the ontime finished products, I could not have been more pleased and would definitely recommend them wholeheartedly without hesitation.
