I was informed by a landscaper working in my back yard that I had no gutter on the back of my townhouse. He said that the job should not cost more than $300. Accordingly, I joined Angie's List and read several reviews and then contacted D.L. Hartmann, Inc. I spoke directly with Mr. Hartmann who said he would stop by the following day (Friday) to view the job and prepare an estimate. At 8:00 a.m. the next day Mr. Hartmann appeared at my door to let me know that he was there so as not to startle me by seeing a strange man in my back yard. Within 15 minutes he left an estimate in my door. I contacted him immediately and hired him for the job. He stated they would be out to my house the following week, would perform the work and leave a bill in my door. I came home from work on Monday, the work had been performed and an invoice for the amount provided in the estimate was left in my door. Aside from the work performed, I could not even tell than anyone had been in my back yard, no scraps, no garbage, etc. The work appeared to me, a lay person, as being well done and I paid the bill immediately. I could not have been happier when my landscaper called to ask who had done the job because he said it was great work. He asked what I was charged and I relayed the price. He again said that the work was well done at a very fair and reasonable price and stated that he, too would refer Mr. Hartmann to any of his clients that needed gutter work done on their homes. This is my first experience with Angie's List and I could not be happier!

The service was excellent. My Hartman came out and did the pricing himself. He was the lowest out of four competitors. The work done was excellent. I will be using him for any kind of other job that he is able to do. We talked about doing work on my gutters. He fixed my back sliding door. He noticed that the lock was broken. He just happened to have a lock and he replaced it for me which I thought was pretty incredible.

Mr. Hartman's crew were absolutely wonderful. They were prompt, polite and did an excellent job. I will use them again and highly recommend their service.

Mr. Hartman and his team were fantastic. The price for a new cracked gable vent was about $75 less than what other companies wanted to charge me. Also, I suspected we had a moisture issue on one wall of our house, so they tore all the siding down, took out the rotted plywood (luckily the studs were ok), replaced them and then put tyvek over top of the wood. They replaced the siding and cleaned up the mess. They also sprayed for ants, as they were coming in our house through the rotted wood! Love this team and will use them again.

I was very impressed with Mr. Hartmann during the estimate. Work began approximately two weeks later. There were some rough patches but overall very good work. We were told the work would start on a certain day and returned home to find materials dropped off and no work done. I contacted Mr. Hartmann and he was very responsive. The following morning, there was a full crew at the house before I left for work and I was told what work would be done that day. Returned from work at end of day to find that the back doors had been installed and 1/2 of the garage was sided (significantly less work that expected). Upon returning from work, the "crew" was gone and there were two gentleman working. They did not speak English so were unable to answer my questions. Oddly, they apparently did not have a way home, as they sat on buckets in my driveway until close to 8:00 pm that night, which was uncomfortable for us (and likely them as well). That being said, the overall end product was amazing. Great work done. Seemed to pay attention to detail. I like the end product.

Apart from the quote, he gave us some really good advice on what to do and what kinds to get. He was completely honest and said that he was not the right man for that job. We needed something different than what he had to offer. He proceeded to give us a quote on replacement windows at the back of our house. That was awesome. He is a great man. I cannot say enough. It has been a fantastic experience. He and all the guys that work with him are professional.

Mr. Hartmann personally oversees the operation and made sure that we were happy. After contacting several companies for estimates, Mr. Hartmann gave me exactly what I needed without tying up 2 hours of my time. My house actually only needed the Trim work for the Roof, Garage, & Windows but, I knew the gutters on my house were leaking. Mr. Hartmann noticed this also & suggested the gutters be replaced at the same time to save money. Everything went well & if in the future I need other services, I won't have to call around. Be sure to mention the Angies List discount as it did save me money.

Mr. Hartman was quick to give a fair and accurate estimate. He had the work scheduled to be completed within a couple days. He had a pleasant and professional crew at my home completing the work even sooner than promised despite the fact that Mr. Hartman himself was in the hospital. How many contractors would get the work done faster than promised, for the price promised, even with an unexpected emergency? He will be the first person I call next time. Excellent work!

Everything went perfectly. Mr Hartmann came the day after I called and provided a complete estimate. Besides the vinyl trim I wanted the Starling Leaf Guard gutters not just new gutters with covers. He arranged to have Starling come out the next day and gave me an estimate. He gave me his commercial price which was 20% lower than the retail price. Mr Hartmann's crew arrived on time every day, worked until 5pm, and finished in 3 days. They worked quietly, were courteous and cleaned up every day before they left. I couldn't be happier.

This contractor was excellent! Mr Hartmann estimates the work himself without any high pressure sales tactics. His work crews arrived on time and completed the work professionally. The overall experience was superb and I would use this contractor for any future work.

Some windstorms had loosened siding from my house - unfortunately it was about 15-20' off the ground, so no go for me. David and his crew were there the same day that I called, fixing the loose siding and leaving me a statement. Fast, easy, and affordable.

Dave's crew of two showed up on time every day and worked steadily until almost dark. They were very professional and it was obvious from the very beginning that they had a lot of experience in doing this type of trim work. I could not be happier with the quality of the work. It looks terrific and the corners and angles were measured and installed to fit perfectly. I could tell by the way these two fellows worked together that they knew what they were doing and took the extra time required to do the job right.

Recently purchased a home that had to have the front fascia repaired. Called a number of companies who: (a) said the job was too small, or (2) wanted to charge me an "arm and a leg". Looked online at Angie's List and came across Mr. Hartmann who came out and gave me a reasonable estimate. I phoned him to make an appt. to do the work and he actually came out earlier than anticipated--with a full crew and stayed to ensure the work was performed correctly. Not only that, he ended up repairing the WHOLE side at no additional charge! WOW! You don't find PROFESSIONALS like that anymore! I will definitely refer him to others and if I need work like this(siding/guttering), I will be calling DL HARTMANN!

Really well. He was the third quote we got and his was middle in price. The low ball estimate seemed sort of fly-by-night. He seemed very reliable, trustworthy, and experienced. He was also willing to do the work on our house in 2 stages, first two sides of the house, then the other two (which we haven't done yet, we're saving for it). We signed the contract on Saturday and his crew came the following week. I think it took about 4 days. I was really impressed with how the trim was cut and wrapped around some pretty odd-shaped corners. The house looks really different now, it turned out really nicely. It's a 1980 contemporary and some of the diagonally hung boards looked really dated, I am glad we got this work done.

Mr. Hartmann responded within 12 ours to a email I sent him and we set up an appointment for him to give us an estimate. His price was very good so I hired him. He came when he was supposed to did the job. After he left I noticed something and he was over within 24 hours to inspect it and noticed something else that he needed to do. He did the additional repairs at no additional expense. I was extremely pleased and would hire him again.

All of my other estimates were about $1000, and his was $460, and it is a beautiful window. The price included the labor. They did excellent work and came out early to do the work.

Mr. Hartman was very prompt. He went out of his way to repair things that needed repairing beside the shingles and siding. I think his fee was very reasonable for the work he did. He is also very courteous and I highly recommend him.

This company was highly recommended by friends and neighbors. We investigated them and found them to be very reputable. We were very pleased with the quality of materials and the quality of the work. They did a very good job of installing it and cleaning up after themselves. We have not had any reasons to call them back.
