Clean Across Town, L.L.C.

Mary, the owner was very nice and responsive throughout the process. However, her employee Anne, seemed very nice initially, but came out to do the initial assessment and even though we had had someone else doing the cleaning up to that point, still charged us $130 for the "initial" cleaning, which was less than the typical $180. The first cleaning was a disaster. Toilets weren't cleaned. The floors in two rooms weren't cleaned. The whole house didn't look good for a regular cleaning, let alone a more expensive cleaning. My wife called Mary and sent her some pictures. She was very responsive and apologetic. Anne came back again several days later to fix the issues and did a satisfactory job. However, she was very standoffish and never once apologized. From there, things stabilized somewhat as far as the cleaning went. It was never great, but it was good enough that my wife and I hoped that it might get better with familiarity. My wife, as is her nature, even tried to encourage Anne in hopes that she would do a better job. However, Anne was never friendly, when my wife would speak to her, she would only respond with a giggle, or some other noise, she almost never responded verbally which made my wife uncomfortable to be around her. The final straw came when my wife was trying to encourage Anne. The whole reason we need a cleaning person is that my wife has several physical ailments that preclude her from doing housework. She told Anne that she appreciated her cleaning out the crock-pots we use the night before she comes as those really tend to hurt her neck when she has to lift them. Anne didn't say, "You're welcome." or anything to that effect, instead, she said, "You need to make sure you leave water in them the night before." First of all, there was water in them. Second, if she could lift them to put water in them we wouldn't need you and thirdly, it's your job to clean. My wife walked away from that encounter to find the bathroom she'd already "cleaned" had urine on the seat and all of the beds were made very poorly, with shoes kicked under the bed. We let Mary know and she was very apologetic and tried to make things right, but didn't have anyone else to send. Throughout, Mary was great and it may have been that Fridays were a day they were trying to squeeze too much into or Anne just wanted to be off for the weekend. So while I wouldn't recommend them, I really liked Mary.

I was not able to receive services discussed by this company, but I need to relay the experience I had with them:I needed a full house cleaning after moving out of a rental house in VA Beach area. I had multiple issues trying to complete my move out process which caused me to reschedule and ultimately cancel my appointments with her. Mary had worked with me extensively to try and make it work well above and beyond my expectations. She had massaged other client's appointments to try and accomodate me in my military move, but it just didn't work out on my end. I have heard WONDERFUL things about their sevice and wish it would have worked out. She was very professional and is very pleasant. Kudos to her! From my limited experience in scheduling/rescheduling, I highly recommend this company if its anything like dealing with Mary.

I was having my HVAC system replaced with new larger vents in the kitchen tiled floor. Unfortunately they sent someone who had never cut tile and he used a grinder with no vacuum, no protection of the kitchen contents and no closing of doors. I came home on a friday night to the enormous mess. I cleaned for 3 hours and realizing the enormity of the project thinking it would take about 30 hours I contacted the HVAC company: the supervisor came immediately and upon seeing the catastrophe, took responsibilty and gave permission for me to secure a cleaning company.Tthis was no easy chore. i left numerous calls over the weekend including the larger and more commonly known cleaning companies.Three responded on monday, one said problem too big for their company at christmas, another company wanted an outrageous price and CLEAN ACROSS TOWN resppnded with EMPATHY, professionalism and promptness. (Did I mention I had to cancel a large dinner party the previous weekend because of the mess?). A complete assessment of the job was done immediately, a price given and work started immediately utilizing a number of employees fitting it in and onto their very hectic holiday schedule. THE JOB WAS FANTASTIC. It was accomplished in two days and attention to detail and Christmas decor was superb. AND THEY REDUCED THEIR INITIAL estimate as they had to do no cleannig or scrubbing-- just dust removal. I cannot say enough about their professionalism, their thoroughness. They checked with me at the end of each cleaning session to assess my satisfaction and if needs were being met--they would not even submit a bill to me until I had waited another 24 hours to make sure more tile dust had not settled that might need more attention. I have a professional housekeeper-but if i ever need services of their company-I would not hesitate to use them, nor to recommend them with accolades. I just started with them and I am very pleased with them. They do an excellent job. They are on time. They clean the house better than anyone ever has. They are nice people. They do the job and they do it right. The price was very good and very reasonable. I plan on keeping them.

Mary was prompt and accurate with her estimate and returned within a week to do my first cleaning with Sherry. They dusted and cleaned places others had never attempted to clean and the apartment was truly clean when they were done. They broke a light bulb while they were cleaning, brought it to my attention and ordered a replacement for me. They are very conscientious, honest and I trust them with my home.

First, I must say Mary is one of the most professional people I've met. When I first contacted her and left her a voicemail, she called me back the same day. I couldn't say the same for other people I'd tried to contact, and that was the first sign of a great business! Then, she came to my house, after having a conversation about scheduling a "move-out" clean, approx 10 days prior to my appt. instead of giving me a price over the phone. She surveyed the home, and then called me that evening with a quote. We then scheduled a clean, and she and one of her employees showed up to my home and cleaned my home from top to bottom. My house wasn't dirty, but just needed the big things cleaned-bathroom, kitchen, etc. Mary was also kind enough to give me a call when they were just about through, so I could come home in time for them to be finishing up. I got to inspect the house and let her know if anything extra needed to be done before they left. Mary was also so kind as to take some of my trash with her to get rid of for me, as I was moving. The price (in my opinion) is a little on the steep side, but I believe you get what you pay for-excellent customer service, quality work, and even a little bit more. I trusted Mary with my home, and she delivered. Thanks Mary!

Interviewed three businesses. Of those, this busniess owner took the most time with me, asking questions, and making suggestions to insure my satisfaction. During the time the two ladies were there they stayed busy, and the owner stated that if there was something I wanted to re-do... to just let her know while they were there. Would ask for them again!

I'm quite pleased with the attention to detail and the willingness to go above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction. It's nice walking in to a clean house that actually smells and looks clean!! Well worth the money spent!!

Clean Across Town does a fantastic job on a consistent basis. The owner and employees are polite, respectful, flexible, trustworthy, and professional. They recently did an out-of-the-ordinary job for me by doing a move-out cleaning for my father's house. There was a lot to do. The owner and her employee went above and beyond what was asked for.
