Great experience. From the initial phone call, to an unexpected day-of appt, I had a great experience. I'm sure I could've found someone cheaper, but the whole "one hour" in the name of the company led me to choose them. The technician knew immediately what the problem was, and fixed the capacitor within about 10 min of his arrival. He wore shoe coverings in the house, and was professional the entire time. Great customer service, and an impressive 3 hours went by from the time I called to the time of arrival. The only draw-back was the price-$131 for the call, and $84 for the capacitor.

FANTASTIC! They were able to give me a time table of between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm and I was surprised when the technician, Mike showed up exactly at 2:00 pm. I appreciate that the company respects my time and can give me a block to work with instead of sitting here all day missing work. The technician, Mike was very professional and represented his company well. I signed up for the maintenance plan, they come and service your AC and Heat so that you will hopefully avoid surprises during the hot or cold days. If something does happen, then you are placed as a priority on their service schedule and will not have to wait for days to have your heating or cooling fixed.
Description of Work: Air conditioning was not blowing cold air, technician came out checked the vents and thermostat inside the house and then checked the two units outside. After inspection he let us know that our freon level was good but that the reason we were having problems was because both units were very dirty (We had just moved in here a few months ago and do not know the last time Maintenance had been performed on the units). Mike, our technician cleaned the coils, checked on our heater and went over the service plans that they offer to prevent problems in the future.

Brent (the service technician) arrived promptly at the 9:00 AM appointment time. He was very professional, identified himself and his company and spent a few moments discussing with me what I believed the problem to be (reduced cooling in the home). He then checked the compressor unit outside in the backyard and informed me that the unit was clogged with dirt and leaf debris (13 various trees surround our property). He removed the compressor cover and proceeded to clean the entire unit using a water hose I provided. He removed about 4 pounds of leaf material from the bottom of the unit and discovered that most of the buildup on the outside cooling fins was due to a dryer vent installed too close to the cooling unit. When finished, he showed me the label tag on the unit with it's manufacturing date (9 years old) and informed me that the unit would reach life expectancy in the next few years (or sooner as maintenance had not been performed well by the previous owner). He recommended an annual service contract, but did not push it or become overly forceful about it's requirement. After two other bad experiences with alternate companies, this one will definitely get word of mouth and repeat business from us when it comes time to replace the system.

I called on a Thursday afternoon but they were not able to send someone out until Monday. I did receive calls when they had earlier openings over the weekend and although I was not able to take the earlier appointments, I really appreciated it. On Monday before Matt arrived, I received a courtesy call that he was on his way and he was right on time. Matt was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, thorough, completely pleasant and it was obvious that he really enjoyed his job. He explained and showed the repairs to me to make sure I had a good understanding of what the issues were. The pricing was also upfront and straightforward with no hidden costs. I did receive a discount on the evaluation fee for being a member of Angie's List and they also have an optional service called the "Comfort Club" which for a small monthly fee, you can receive discounted repairs, special offers, as well as maintenance depending on the level you choose. I elected to join this service and received another generous discount for the work done that day. It is my hope that I don't have to use it in the future, but I thought it was a smart deal. Within the hour after Matt left, the house was back to being comfortably cool.
Description of Work: Our a/c was running but the house was not cooling down. Matt came out and looked over the whole system and discovered a leak on the suction line valve of our outdoor unit which he was able to fix and added freon. The $340 cost included the evaluation fee, repair, and 1st two months of Comfort Club.

The appointment was scheduled for a 4 hour window. I got a call that morning to verify the appointment, then another call to say the repairman was on his way. Matt showed up about a half hour later. He put on booties before setting foot inside the house. He was professional, didn't mind being hovered over. He explained what he was doing as he went along. The final bill was higher than the estimate because he found some burnt wiring, showed them to me and got the OK to replace. As we settled, he explained the Comfort Club costs and benefits. I bought it because it basically pays for an annual service, with discounts on any repairs.

We called Classic Air on Tuesday morning (5/11/10). Mr. Barry Derr arrived as scheduled at 1400 Tuesday afternoon for an estimate. He was professional, courteous, and knowledgable. After explaining the advantages and disadvantages of several types of systems we selected the high efficiency heat pump system. Mr. Derr then scheduled installation for Friday (5/14/10) at 0900. Friday morning at 0905 the installation team, Ralph Rogers and Reggie, arrived and started work. Again both of them were professional and courteous. They neatly removed the old system and had the new system installed and running smoothly by 1630 that afternoon. In short all the personnel at Classic Air did exactly what the said they would do, on time and expertly. I will certainly use them again for all my heating and air conditioning needs.

Great. These guys are the real deal! I got at least 5 other estimates. They were not the cheapest but they had the best Warranties for the price. The sales person was great, he set up the financing with one phone call back to his office. Next day install went without a hitch! City inspection was flawless! I can't say enough good things about Classic Air's service and support. When they went out to do the installation, they found major problems with the wiring, they called immediately, recommended an electrical company who was prompt and priced extremely fair. They knew who to call, and made it happen. I have to tell you, for many years my late husband and I had John's Brothers under contract, when they were purchased by Servistar the service went DOWN the tubes and that is when I started looking for a new company to service my rental home and my condo, I originally called Classic Air Care and changed my mind at the last moment for my condo, Classic was very professional and sent me a letter say they were sorry I had not chosen them. I decided to give them a try at my at my rental home and they are JUST THE BEST! They will also be installing a new gas furnace for me at my rental property in the next month. This company is just the Best!
Description of Work: Signed on for their yearly service agreement, when they performed it, they suggested I contact their "comfort advisor" because of the age of the a/c, 15 years old. The advisor was prompt, knowledgable and NOT pushy. I also contacted another company, it took a week to get back to me and was also more expensive.

Very well. One Hour Tech was very thorough in trouble shooting the problem with my gas pak heating and cooling system. He inspected my unit and scheduled a second tech to examine my heat exchanger when it was apparent that it was damaged. The 2nd tech was scheduled from my home, and I received a call within 10 minutes confirming that this technician was on his way. Further work is needed, but at least the problem was diagnosed and we can begin the process of repairing or replacing the system.
Description of Work: Inspection of heat exchanger, blower motor, and took readings of return air temp and heat register air for acceptable differential. Diagnosed that the motor was not the problem, but rather a bad return line.

They were great and provided good service. They seem to be very knowledgeable. I wasn't there so my husband dealt with them the first time. I used the coupons and such to pay them so it was good and reasonable. Their both visits were good and I really had good feeling with them. I would use them again, if needed.
Description of Work: The first time I called them because one of the heater units weren't working and I think he had to replace some parts. The second time it was a different unit, it wasn't broken but I simply didn't know where the switch was and he showed me that. He gave me kind of quick evaluation on my units.

They are great, have been very good. We have four heat pumps so I think we pay 35 dollars a month. They come out in the spring and the fall to do the maintenance work. You also get discounts if there are any repairs or that kind of things. I would continue to use them.

They were very professional about everything. They were up front and honest about the cost. The only surprise was that the thermostat wire wasn?t covered. Everything looked ten times better when they were done. When they did the installation they covered the carpet and wore shoe covers. Chris, the sales guy was absolutely wonderful. He was there step for step and explained everything to me. I?m not a mechanical person myself and he made me feel a lot easier about what was going on and happening. They gave me a $1,000.00 discount for being an Angie's List member as well. He didn?t try to push a larger unit on me to make the company more money. I would definitely hire the company again and I have recommended them to friends as well.
Description of Work: Originally they came out and did a testing on my air unit and handler upstairs. They found I had a Freon leak. They also did a leak check for the unit as well. They found 9 holes in the unit. My husband wanted to patch these, but that would actually cost more than to replace the unit. They were helpful in showing us this difference. I had actually requested a limited amount of information to send to my husband overseas, but was provided with more information than was expected which is what caused my husband to go with them. We purchased a brand new downstairs a/c unit and air handler for upstairs. After they replaced it, a week later my a/c was blowing heat and they found it was the thermostat wiring. They fixed this. When they replaced this wire they accidentally knocked a hole in my wall. They hired a company to fix this hole and they did a wonderful, professional job. A week after that my heater started blowing cold air and they came out and fixed it free of charge. They also gave me a new thermostat because there was a problem in the actual thermostat they had given me.

After the air conditioning broke down a couple of times we realized we needed to replace the heating and air conditioning system in a rental property. After checking with several companies I had Classic Air come out to inspect the unit and provide an estimate. The technician arrived the next day, on time. The paperwork was completed the following day and the work was scheduled for two days later. Again, the technicians arrived on time. They had to work both inside and outside and were careful about not tracking any dirt or mud into the house. All interactions with company personnel were professional, personable and courteous, from beginning to end. The person providing the estimate went over the scope of the work in detail and explained the warranties for parts and labor, the total cost, the company's $500 Property Protection and Client Respect Guarantee, and how long the workmen would probably be at the house. Our tenants reported a very pleasant experience and are very glad that the A/C now works beautifully. A person from the office called about a week later to make sure that we were satisfied, that there were no problems with the new system and that the work had gone smoothly.

I wanted to get a checkup done on my home air conditioning system before the summer got hot and stayed that way. I called this company because they rated well on this website. It was Friday afternoon when I called, and they were able to get me an appointment for Monday between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The technician showed up right at 8:30 on Monday, introduced himself, told me what he was going to do and got started. I noticed his van outside was clean and looked good, and his uniform was clean and professional looking. He was courteous and used the overshoes he brought each time he came in the house. He did the work he needed to do inside the house on the air handler (inspecting and cleaning) first and then moved outside. He did a very thorough job of checking just about everything in the system from an efficiency and safety point of view. He also answered every question I had for him about the system and what he was doing, and he was polite throughout. He did a good job of working with our old outdoor unit and explained all of the options we have with such an old system as far as keeping it running, replacing it or etc. He also explained how the systems have changed since ours was installed. In the end, the only reason the bill was what it was is because the age of our system and the fact that we decided to have the technician add a little refrigerant. Since the freon the old a/c unit uses is old and hard to come by, it's expensive. Otherwise, the visit and the work that he did is very reasonably priced. After he completed his work, the technician cleaned up (even a little mess that he didn't make) and got the paperwork done quickly. He gave us a detailed summary of what he found along with any suggestions he had for keeping the system running smoothly. I found that overall he was very professional, and I would recommend this company to anyone looking for like sevices and would call them again for my own system.

The technician, Dave H, explained that ductwork to my daughter's room was not connected to main duct. The other issue was the 90 degreee bend leading to my daughter's actual vent was not connected. He explained what was wrong and the fees associated with repairing the connections and resecuring the ductwork. Even though I found them on Angie's List, I had to print out the $25 coupon to recieve the discount. Also, he explained that the company is looking to build a clientale vice making one time repairs/visits. This lead into discussing th evarious levels of "clubs" the company offers. I declined to participate in the "clubs", and simply asked them to repiar the ductwork. When I originally set up this appointment, I was under th eimpression that the fee covered identifying the issue, and minor repirs. I was incorrect.

We were disheartened to see a negative overall rating from this member. However, we were glad to hear that after other companies had tried, we were actually able to fix the issue correctly and get her daughter's room comfortable. Additionally, we appreciate the 'A' rating for punctuality and professionalism. As for the 'C' in responsiveness: The client initially called us at 6:16pm on 4/20/09 and our technician knocked on her door at 8:30am on 4/21/09 (14 hours later) to begin his diagnostic. I believe most members would find that level of response to be remarkable. As for the 'D' in Quality: The issue was fixed right on our very first visit by a NATE certified technician. When we left the home, her daughter's room was comfortable again. So, it seems that perhaps the overall 'D' was due to the price and/or how the price was communicated. We sincerely apologize if the communication was not clear. However, the following may help to clarify: 1. We have a diagnostic fee which covers a thorough 24 point inspection of the entire system. This is a flat fee regardless of how long it takes to locate the problem. 2. After locating the issue or issues causing the problem, our technician will share that information with the client, discuss the options/costs and obtain permission before completing the repair. 3. The discussion of "clubs" mentioned by the member was a great opportunity for her to save money, as price seems to have been a major issue. Doug (our technician) was sharing that by becoming a member of our Comfort Club she could not only save money on that day's repairs but also on ALL future repairs. This membership also included free AC and heat tune ups, free filters, discounts on equipment replacement and head-of-the-line priority service. In fact, if she had become a member, she would have saved $66. Or, to put it another way, 25% of the repair costs (not including the $84 diagnostic). It was also a little frustrating and condescending for the member to refer to this service call as "minor work" and a "quick repair". Doug was in the home for 2 hours not only going over the ductwork and repairing it, but also checking out the entire system for other performance or safety issues. If this work was quick and minor, certainly the other HVAC professional she hired previously would have had no problems fixing it. Finally, our company called this member within hours of Doug leaving the home. We left a voicemail thanking her for allowing us to take care of her issue and asking her to call back with any comments or feedback. This call was never returned by the member. We have a written, 100% satisfaction guarantee that we live by each and every day. If she had simply communicated her concerns, I am confident that the issue would have been resolved to her satisfaction. We do appreciate the feedback, both good and bad, as it helps us to refine and perfect our customer service. We are mindful that we can't please everyone all the time, but that is our goal. Hopefully, the "rest of the story" helps other Angie's Members know what they will receive when they call One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning: prompt, courteous, professional and straight-forward customer service backed by our 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Customer service is not dead! Dan showed up on time. He took the time to find where the leak was in the refrigerant line of the one systems and repaired it (another company could not find the same leak last summer). He wore shoe covers in the house (I love that!). He tested both cooling systems to ensure they were working properly before he left. The next day I received a phone call from the company asking how my service was. I wish other companies did that! We signed up for their service plan. This company is a keeper!

This was an over all great experience. From the first phone call to the end of my entire system being replaced these guys where great. They came the night I called, very promptly. The tech at my house and the person on the phone where very curious and professional. After getting my system back up and running so I could have heat for the night they came out that Saturday to give me an estimate for a new system. Tim the comfort adviser was great; he designed 3 systems for me, explained everything in detail including guarantees, system design and several questions I had. I decided on a system I felt was right for me and they came out the following Monday and installed. I can't honestly say how the install went because they where finished by the time I got home from work! I had a nice new digital thermometer on my wall and a nice new heat pump on the side of my house. My last heat pump wasn't on a slab of concrete, they took care of that at no charge. Best customer service I could have hoped for, I was really impressed and I highly recommend classic air for your heating and cooling needs.

The two guys that came out were very nice and helpful. They put covers on their feet before they walked in the house. I never knew how much I would like that. They worked well into the dark trying to fix the motor and when they couldn't make it work that night, they brought us a heater so we wouldn't freeze.

Its been a month and a half now and everything is working great, it was positive experience. Very clean insulation, they put runners down on the carpet and booties on their shoes so they did not track mud through the house.
