CENTEX HOMES

This project was a catastrophe from the start. The entire house was like a sieve, allowing rainwater to come in, in several different locations. It was so bad in the kitchen that the floor was damaged by the water. It came in through the doors, windows, and roof. The vinyl siding was so loose it was flapping against the house when it got windy. There were plumbing problems as well. We called them at least a dozen times in the first six months and now matter how many times they came over, the majority of these problems were not solved by them. We ended up doing a lot of the work ourselves and hiring out for it.

They were just okay, but nothing spectacular. There was a whole list of little things that I had to fix myself. I just wasn t overly satisfied with their job. You don t expect to have to fix a bunch of stuff when you buy a new home.

We are very happy with the results of the construction. We wanted a roomy home, but not an oversized home, that would be difficult to manage. That is exactly what they built for us. The lines of communication were kept open during the process, and there was even some room to move on price negotiation. The few problems there were, after we moved in, were repaired right away.

The house was built in about five months, and it seemed as if the structure was built solidly. After living right on the ocean for a while, I have realized that it is not a very strong structure. The wind is very noisy, and if any type of severe storm hit, I am not entirely sure the house would withstand it. I like the design, but I wish they would have built it with stronger material.

Our home is the worst home we have ever seen. We had to postpone the closing three times before we finally had to do it. There were big holes in the walls where someone went crazy with a nail gun. The floors are not level. We found 2 x 4's in both the plumbing pipes and the air ducts. The trim that was supposed to be wood was composite. In my opinion, the worst thing they did was that they never fixed any of the problems.

We had a few minor problems with Centex, but nothing really to complain about. I was very happy with the home this company built for us and the reason I gave them B's instead of A's was because I felt that everyone had room for improvements.

The first thing that comes to my mind is perfect. There were absolutely no problems what so ever. This company has very skilled workers. They built my home exactly like I wanted and their price was lower than any other home builder in town.
