I moved into the area of Virginia Beach a year ago and bought a home built in 1966. There was a pump in the garage for an existing well outside somewhere. I wanted to know what, where, why and how from C & G Well Drillilng. My plan was to hopefully use the well for a soaker systerm that I am putting around all sides of my house. Phoned him, returned my call in good time and set up an a time for his visit His first remark was "That thing is older than I am" and he'd never seen any pump like it. But, he did get it running and actually got water coming out of one of the outlets. We discussed putting a new pump in and that was not cheap. After weighing the pros and cons, the expense, etc. I decided not to spend the $ on a new pump. He was very, very informative. After a long talk with him in regards to using the well he discouraged me from using it for a soaker system. 1) No way to know what condiion the well was in and whether the screen was even going to do its job 2) with all the iron in the water he felt eventually my soakers would begin to clog. He was very honest. He did not get a sale and that's because he informed me of the cons! I doubt there are many of you looking for this kind of info but if you're in need of some help in reference to a well (he digs them also) he is your man.

We called Criss late Friday night because our pump stopped working. We were panicked thinking no one would come out till Monday. Criss came out early Saturday morning and assessed the problem. He informed us that the pipe was rusted and come apart from the pump. He was VERY honest and said that he could just change out the pipe and our old pump was still functioning and may continue to work for another 15 years which was a minimal fee or he could install a new pump. We opted to go with a new pump since the old one must have been running constantly to get us any water at all. It was installed within minutes and we again had water!! He left the old pump for my husband in case he wanted to use it for something else. We were very impressed with him and his honesty!! He could have easily just told us that we needed a new pump right at the get go and gone with more expensive option but told us exactly what was wrong with it. If you are looking for someone to fix your pump, well, etc. LOOK NO FURTHER!!!!!

This well is for our geothermo heating/cooling system. When the system stopped working our geothermo technician diagnosed it appeared the well was either plugged or dry. So I called Chriss at C & G Well Drilling. After testing he determined it wasn't dry but a valve at the well was stuck -- a $250 repair as opposed to $1100 new well. However when he tried to follow the water line it went under a cement porch so he couldn't determine where it was. So I started a search to try to find the location of the well. It was not on my abstract, the Water Authority's records, or VB City records. I contacted a company that finds leaks underground, or in our case water in a well, but eventually determined it would not work. Another method was to run a line in the plumbing but after exploring it was decided this too likely wouldn't work. All of this needed to be in consultation with C & G. Eventually our only choice ended up being for C& G to drill a new well anyways. Getting a hold of him throughout this process was very frustrating. I could never reach him or anyone else directly. I had to leave a voicemail which he did not listen to until the evening. He did not want me to use his cell phone. I tried calling all hours of the day to see if I would have better luck but did not. He usually did not respond until the next day and sometimes two days. His replys were usually extremely short or vague. I would then need to text or call to ask for more info and hope for his reply the next day. The whole process went on for two weeks with no AC, of which I estimate about a week was waiting for replys. Yet this was the only problem with working with him. I was very pleased with his knowledge, work and pricing. He even let me work with him on payment. I would recommend him as long as you're aware of the above. In most cases you likely would not need to have as much communication as I did.

All pump lines and the check valve were replaced. A new tank was also installed. It worked fine for a week and then I had the same problem. Chris came back out, found a cracked fitting and repaired it at no cost. Totally happy with the work and the price. Highly recommended.

Previous estimates called for new well drilling, with outrageous costs included. Called C & G Drilling based on their excellent ratings. He told me what was probably wrong, but I requested his visit anyway. They came the very next day! What a blessing, he repaired the system in no time, and working beautifully! No need for new well, and no lies!! Call them if you need an honest and great service!

Before Criss came I was very apprehensive about the potential problems and cost. He properly diagnosed the problems, solved them, and made repairs to prevent future problems. I really expected the cost to be more considering all that he did and the parts he replaced.

overall, the well works but spews rust even at .05 % as he claimed it was delivering. He said that I should not have "Much" of a problem with rust. He was wrong and besides I didn't want to have any problem with rust which I do.So,get your objectives in writing before you sign the dotted line. Chris was right about the problem. He located the well and found where a tree root had broken the pipe. He replaced the pipe, checked out the water and hooked up our pump all within two hours.

return well failed. got prompt response and substantially lower than anticipated bid (compared to cost from previous company). Drilling and plumbing were arranged and performed on time. Received an informal education on W/A heatpumps and a lead to a hvac company I am now using. very satisfied.

It went well overall - they were only at the house for a short period of time.

While here , he visually checked the sprinkler heads and thought I may have a leak somewhere underground as in his opinion, the water pressure should have been much greater. I have yet taken the time to investigate this issue as inclement weather has been consistently upon us. The guys who showed up were unable to provided an indepth diagnosis & repair estimate for the suspected leak but were willing to return at a later date.

Showed up when they said they would and got the job completed quickly and thoroughly.

I am so very impressed with C&G Well Drilling! I called Criss on Friday August 10th he set a appointment for Monday August 13th. He and his colleague Bert arrived on time and had quite a bit of work to do. They tackled the problem with the utmost professionalism and in such a timely manner. They were courteous and diligent in solving the problem. The problem was more involved than anticipated but the cost was barely more than the estimate he gave me on the phone. HE CHARGED NO LABOR!!! To me this is such an incredible thing to happen in this day and age. I doubt I will need his services in the future but should I have any problems he will be the first company I call. Most impressive is their knowledge of every aspect with the pump and well. There was no hesitation in what needed to be done to get a 17 year old pump up and running on it's own again.This company deserves so many accolades it would be impossible to put them all in writing. Professional, prompt, courteous, friendly, knowledgeable are only several words that describe his company.If you are having any difficulty with your pump or well you can't go wrong calling C&G Well Drilling. It's just amazing to receive such great service. In my book you would be hard pressed to find a better company than C&G Well Drilling.

Chris was very prompt in returning my phone call and explained in great detail what the different possibilities and options would be. He said it would be 2-5 business days before he could get to us, but he called back the next day and had a crew here that afternoon. His crew worked through the pump removal, piping, and new pump installation that day. Since they couldn't get water pumping, they came back the next day after lunch and diagnosed and repaired the suction pipe and had us up and running. The service was great and the price was far less than I expected to pay.

Criss came to our home first and told us right up front that he could get the well pumping again but that sooner or later we would need a whole new setup and pump. The pipe is collapsing since it is so old. But he got the pressure back and water was pumping. However it was leaking a lot. So we called them back and another person came out and repiped the pump and then it worked perfectly. No additonal charges were incurred. I would like to pass on a big "THANK YOU" to Criss at C&G Well Drilling. This past Saturday I had a lightning strike that blew a hole in my water line and froze the pump that supplied water to the house. On Sunday after reviewing Angie's List I decided to call C&G Well Drilling. To my surprise Criss answered the phone and tried to walk me through some steps to trouble shoot the problem. We got the well running and I quickly noticed water coming up out of the ground near the lightning strike. At that point there were no fixes I could make so Criss jumped in his truck and came over and made the repairs. He replaced the pressure switch and gage on the pump and fixed the hole in the water line. Service like that is rare today. I would highly recommend C&G Well Drilling. Thank you Chris!

Chris was very professional and responsive. I contacted three vendors and he was the only one who returned my call. Burt came out the next day assessed the problem and was able to replace the well pump on the spot. I cannot address cost, as I couldn't find another contractor to even price out a new pump. However, the customer service was excellent and the service charge was reasonable. I would definitely use C&G again.

Criss went above and beyond to take care of the issue with my well and pump. I made comment that not everyone would have done what he did, and he replied, "You didn't call everyone. You called me." How's that for outstanding service? My fingers are crossed that I won't need any more work on my well for a while, but if I do, I am calling Criss at C&G Well Drilling.

We were worried that we might need to get a new well drilled but when Criss came out, he explained to me that it could be as simple as an air leak in one of the connecting pipes. He replaced all of the old pipework that connected to the new pump, got the pump primed and soon it was pumping water. I greatly appreciated his honesty as I could have been told that we needed a new well and would not have known any different. He was efficient, professional and his charges for supplies and service were very reasonable.

My husband, Jack, tried for weeks to get someone out to give an estimate on our well problems. Other well and drilling companies would not return phone calls and when Jack did reach them they were not helpful and did not show interest in coming to give an estimate. When Jack called Criss at C&G Well Drilling, he was pleased that Criss showed good customer service and was very helpful answering questions. Criss came to the house in a timely manner and explained the problems and how to repair them. He took the job and completed it to our satisfaction and with caring customer service. Turned out the pump the previous home owners installed was not up to the job to pull water from the well. It was rated for about 18 ft. and was installed 3ft off the ground. Therefore it would not work for me in this situation. Bert was the well technician that came out, and he patiently answered all my questions, and got me up to speed on what I need to know to make smart decisions for my future well needs in relation to both irrigation and geothermal a/c. I can say for sure that when I do need future well work it will be from C&G Well Drilling.
