Bust-A-Move

Johnny was very punctual for all of our meetings. He was friendly and when our client was in town he was attentive to her needs and took notes regarding what she wanted to be packed and shipped to her and what could be discarded. He always returned my calls when I reached out to him and kept me updated through out the entire process, including the day of packing/discarding items. I did stop by on the day of the move and his entire team was friendly, polite and were all extremely focused to push through the job to keep with the given time frame. They emptied the house and were able to have it ready to put on the market. I would recommend Johnny and his team more of my clients because they did such a wonderful job!

When I booked (last minute, due to foolishly booking other flaky company) Johnny warned that my requested arrival time (9-10) might be problematic, as traffic is unpredictable from the southside, but Nick and Paul couldn't have been prompter, arriving just before 9. (I very much appreciated the expectation management on Johnny's part though.) My spouse met them at our old apartment while I was relocating our cat to the new house, and sent me repeated texts about how efficient and helpful the guys were, and I found that to be the case when they arrived to unpack our truck at the new house - cheerful, good-humored gentlemen with a sense of urgency about the whole thing. I had done nearly all of the prep work so I hired Bust-A-Move mostly for the heavy lifting, but considering the care with which the guys treated furniture and surroundings, I would consider hiring them to help with the pack as well in the future. They were observant and made a point to bring pre-existing damage to our attention (our kitchen table has seen better days!) They packed the truck carefully and came prepared with ratchet straps and packing film, we rented blankets with the truck and had them on hand.

I called and was told they could do it at 5 pm. Told them some boxes would be necessary but most everything was boxed. They were on time. while they were loading the truck I stayed out of there way. I thought they were professionals and didn't need to be told how to do their job, besides I was paying by the hour. I was wrong on all counts !!!!! They were nothing more than Trashmen !! No common sense or respect for my things. They literally Threw my things into my apartment sideways, stereo upside down, baskets on the bottom with heavy boxes on top so many glass items broken into smithereens. Absolutely Horrendous. Did not bring even 1 box, carried baske6and small things by themselves all the big heavy things piled on top and in the front. Their name fits!!

Awesome. These guys were very professional. They communicated well before, during and after the move. The guys hustled, but genuinely enjoyed working with each other. They were courteous and respectful of my wife and I, and they took the time to wrap, and pack well. I am retired Navy and moved many, many times. This is the best moving experience I've ever had.

The move went very well especially considering that we had so much stuff! The truck and movers showed up right on time even though the weather was awful (pouring rain). The movers handled all of our belongs with care, wrapped everything and delivered it in the same condition that they found it. We even had an extensive amount of computer equipment and other electronics that arrived safely at our new destination. At our new house they took the time to lay down furniture blankets and plastic to help protect the carpets. If we ever have to move again I will be contacting Bust-A-Move.

The move was quick and painless for me. Until, that is, I turned my 65" television on to use it. That's when I noticed damage had occurred to my tv. When I submitted my form for the service department I received an email stating that the following items were not covered under insurance “The following items are excluded from moving and storage liability due to our inability to assess the conditions of these items prior to handling. If these items are transported loosely, they are excluded from moving and storage liability. These items include, but are not limited to: electronic components, appliances, televisions, stereos, DVD players, CD/MP3 players, sewing machines, typewriters, computers, laptops and etc.” I'm not sure if this is typical of movers to not cover damages they may cause to items during a move but I will never use this company again!!!

Everything went well. They were on time, started right away and didn't stop. They moved all furniture and loaded up the truck with all the boxes i had prepared. I hired them for 2 hours, and it took just a little longer. Once you start packing, you realize how much stuff you have,.

The guys at bustamove were amazing! They called and showed up on time, with 5 guys instead of the three I had requested. I was moving from a third floor apartment, and the guys got right to work, moved fast, and didn't complain at all. Cody, Noah, Kelvin, Larry and Casper were all very friendly and super positive, very professional! The owner dropped me off boxes a few days before so I could pack everything up, and the guys took the time to wrap everything with padding that needed to so none of my items would get scratched up. The unloading was even quicker and they put everything in each room that I asked. I've already recommended them to a friend who's doing a local move, and if I ever had to move again I would definitely request these guys by name and use this company again - great job and made my move stress-free! Thank you!

They packed it all in under 3 hours (I had everything disassembled). Nothing broken, missing, scratched or dented. They were pleasant, professional, and fast. Would hire them again in a heartbeat!

Mover's were great. Very professional. Business office was shady and unethical. In email correspondence requested 2 hours, 2 movers to move 6 pieces of furniture from house to garage then back in after floors resurfaced. Very clear about what I needed and what I was paying for. They directed me to their website where I purchased the package. The movers themselves were very professional in moving to the garage and had the work finished in an hour. I tipped both workers 10 dollars a piece because it was a small job. Then called the business office to arrange for them to come back in 10 days to move the pieces back into the house. They did not return my phone call and when I contacted them on Angies List the response was that there was a 2 hour minimum and to move the pieces back into the house would be another 170. Unethical business practice. Not in good faith with the consumer. To treat a military service members like this in a community where the military makes up a sizable portion of the work force, not only speaks to poor ethics, but also a poor business acumen. The business owners response will be that industry standard is two hour minimum and the workers need at least 2 hours of wages. That doesn't hold water because I communicated my needs, no mention of minimum hours in correspondence, and I tipped both workers what the second hour of wages would have been. Hope my extra 85 dollars was worth it to this local businessman.

I received an email the next day stating that they could easily accommodate us with a request to call them to get details. I called within a couple of hours of receiving the email and left a message - no response. My husband emailed - no response. Finally got in touch with someone who said none of our emails/messages had been received and they were no longer available to help us. The woman on the phone said that if there were proof that I had actually left a message, they would try to work with us for the agreed day. Not sure how or what kind of proof they would need but since I'm not in the habit of recording my phone calls, we are out of luck 2 days before our move.

They were late arriving to my appointment with them but they kept me well informed all the way up to the time they arrived. This was actually a good thing because I was running a little behind too. I brought the Angie's List special for $360 which gave me 4 hours and two guys for the price you would pay for 2 hours. As courtesy for running late they gave me three extra guys. So the move took less than two hours. The movers were very professional and courteous

These were the most professional movers I've ever met; they never slowed down and got everything done in much less time than we expected (or budgeted for).

I bought a coupon through Angie's List that provided 3 movers for 2 hours for $250. I rented a U-Haul for the transportation. The movers showed up on time and went right to work. They wrapped my bigger pieces of furniture in plastic to protect them and brought their own furniture blankets and equipment. They took their time to make sure nothing got bumped or scrapped. Everything was loaded in just under an hour. They followed me to my storage unit and unloaded everything and they were completely done in 1 1/2 hours. They were very friendly and professional and paid attention to what they were doing. Oh, leading up to the move, I was contacted by the company (Jessie I believe) to schedule my move time and again the day before (On Sunday) to make we were still on schedule. If you hire them for labor only, they provide blankets, plastic wrap etc. Make sure your address is right. My mailing address for Angie's List is different than the residential address.

The three man crew was very polite and was very careful with our items.

Outstanding customer service and communication from beginning to end. Johnny and his team handles our move and adjustments with the care you would give yourself. Everything was as specified in the contract and on time. Bust-a-Move is highly recommended for both local and long distance.

Really good, movers very professional and skilled. Because the work took such a short time, I would have wished the company would have offered some kind of discount, but I guess I understand that they must have a baseline price. Even so, a gesture of some amount would have been nice. I would definitely consider them for a large move if their price was competitive.

I've moved numerous times during a long military career, including several moves in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area. Bust-A-Move was BY FAR THE BEST EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD WITH A MOVING COMPANY, EVER. Johnny and his team were absolute professionals and jumped through a number of hoops to make sure my needs were met. I contracted them on short notice to make a one-day move from a storage unit in Virginia Beach to an apartment at my new duty station in Washington, DC. They responded quickly to my inquiry and quoted me a price well below what I thought I would have to pay. When the day of the move came, they arrived on time and ready to work. They worked quickly but carefully, and Johnny (the owner) was personally on hand to supervise the move. Every member of the moving team was courteous, professional, and hard-working. Because I was arranging this as a "do it yourself" move through the military, I needed Johnny to have the truck weighed several times and provide me with the weight tickets so that I could be reimbursed for my moving expenses. Johnny went out of his way (literally, when several of the weigh stations were closed) to make sure that I had all the documentation I needed for my moving expense claim. At the end of the day, all my property was safely in my new apartment with zero damage and a couple of days later I had an itemized receipt from Johnny exactly as we had agreed. I had no trouble at all getting reimbursed for my moving expenses. I would absolutely recommend Johnny and Bust-A-Move to anyone looking to make a move within the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area, or within a few hours of it. They made this move easy for me, and I greatly appreciated that.

I scheduled for Bust-A-Move to have four movers for four hours move my entire life out of two storage units to my two story townhouse about three miles down the road. I provided the truck and it cost me less than $600. This move was a little unique because on this date I would be still be deployed and it would have to be handled by my mom and boyfriend. The days leading up to this move I e-mailed the company to make sure they had my Mom's contact information and that everything was in order. Each time they responded quickly and assured me that it would all be handled as I requested. On that day, the movers were punctual and contacted my mom to make arrangements to meet at my storage unit. I have enough furniture and stuff to fully furnish a three bedroom home and they were able to load it on to the truck I provided and unload it in my house in less than four hours. They were quick, didn't waste any time, and were careful with all of things. While I was not present for the move, my mom and boyfriend said it was a wonderful experience and the four movers were very professional. I would definitely use this company again and would recommend it to anyone in need of movers. The price was fair and even more so because they did they were so accommodating to my situation.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! I made an appointment online for two movers for two hours for that day. Only 4 hours of lead time and they were able to get me a 26 foot truck with two great movers. Very nice and knowledgeable. On time. Handled everything with care. It is hard to be impressed these days with most companies just doing the bare min. Not this company! Outstanding!. Will use again soon!

The workers arrived promptly both days and were professional and came ready to work. They asked questions to get an idea about the job and to understand my expectations. Both were knowledgeable, answered questions and were careful with my belongings. Couldn't have asked for 2 more personable or pleasant people to work with. The one miscommunication we had dealt with what equipment should have been brought to the job and was an issue between me and the front office and not a worker issue. No tie downs were brought for securing property as it was loaded and upon completion. They went to Lowe's, secured what was needed and completed the job. I was not charged for the time it took them to purchase the items. Felt I was charged fairly for the work that was done. The job was completed within the 2 hour window requested on the first day. I did not actually hire them for the 2nd day but they were contracted by the company I had hired before finding Bust A Move. I'm glad they returned. On the 2nd day they again worked efficiently and completed the packing and loading within the 2 hour window requested. Very efficient.

The movers were awesome! They were punctual, knowledgeable, efficient, polite. The move was one of the easiest moves I have ever experienced. I will call Bust -A-Move for any future moves.

Paul and Darrius were both strong and skilled movers. They were about 20 minutes late, but upon arrival got right to work and continued until the job was done, actually finishing in just over an hour. They were skilled in packing our truck in a manner that protected our items and secured them during transport---I was grateful for this as my approach would have been far less sound. Packing is a bit of an art. These guys big and strong. They lifted items that other movers (on the delivery end) struggled with. They were pleasant, polite and no-nonsense. For $150 for two hours, I feel this is a tremendous deal. I would use Bust A Move again.

I booked online but the crew didn't show up for the scheduled time. But i cant even be mad because I accidentally slept through the show time! Every time I called John was super nice and he immediately sent a new crew to my apartment. The guys were super friendly and seriously got my entire (one bedroom, second floor) move finished in 2 hours. I originally had 2 weeks scheduled to move into my new house but thanks to my bank I ended up with 4 days before going underway. I was seriously stressing it but they made it happen and fast!
