 + -1 moreGreat. Our tree limb was blown down from the remnants of a recent hurricane, so there were downed trees everywhere. Finding a tree service was difficult, and the service I had originally arranged to do the work was backlogged by about a week. I finally tried Beach Tree and Stump. Sam arrived within an hour of our call, gave us a fair price, and was able to fit us in an hour or two later. He was very amiable and friendly, and his crew did a great job cleaning up. I was very impressed. We will definitely use his service again!

 + -1 moreWe had a cedar tree leaning over and resting on another tree in our yard threatening our driveway and cars. The tree had a slight lean for a little while and became a big problem almost overnight. I called six different tree companies in Virginia Beach over a 3 day period. Beech Tree and Stump was the only company that actually answered the phone! I called on a weekend. We were quoted a very reasonable price and the tree was gone within two days including stump grind and clean up. It was all done while I was at work. We were very pleased with the prompt professional service from this company. We will never use anyone else to maintain our trees.

 + 0 moreIt was OK. Providers did not come on time. Did damage my sprinkle system's water pipe during the root removal process. I have to spend another 50 bucks to repair it. In addition, their truck damaged my front yard landscaping. The did a good job on tree cutting, but not on other part.

 + -1 moreOnly company to call back on same day. Needed to remove tree damage after a storm. A large truck and a crew of 4 came a few hours after agreeing on the estimate. They were in and out in an hour and did an amazing job. Highly recommend!

Being in this home since 1964 has afforded many opportunities for working with repair people, landscapers, other service people and more than one Tree Service. This is the first time I have really been satisfied with a Tree Service as I am with Beach Tree and Stump LLC. My husband left most of the decisions to me concerning this job. He was very pleased with the end result. After being widowed for 10 years and then marrying into the Navy where long separations are a norm, I had to learn to make major decisions on many issues..I based many of my choices on: How was I, a woman, treated by this company, how did they perform and would I hire this company again. Mr. Harmon and his men treated me with utmost respect, they did a fantastic job and I will, without doubt, ask them again when needed. One of my neighbors has hired his company to remove several major sized trees from her yard - he told her that before he began cutting, he would meet with the neighbors behind her to let them know that he and his crew would clean up all the debris that might fall in their yard. . This company really cares How unusual, hmmm?
Description of Work: Rec'd several estimates from Tree Removal companies..Beach Tree was best. Due to inclimate weather we had to postpone the work several days..Mr. Harmon kept in touch w/me; yesterday he and his crew arrived on time, began working immediately.Completely professional but friendly and respectful as they dealt with me. No cursing, no loud music, took a very short break for lunch, worked extremely well with each other; it was obvious safety was their main concern followed by meeting my expectations-in fact, more than meeting my expectations!! They listened to me, patiently explained why something was being done a certain way. During the day I requested a couple of items I had missed during the estimate-they took care of them willingly and did not charge me extra. They removed two very tall 39 yr old Elms, topped one 42 yr old Maple (damaged by lightening) and trimmed 2 very large 42 yr old Maples, 1 Mimosa and 1 Crape Myrtle. They cut and stacked the wood we wanted to save, filled in the stump holes and leveled the ground, cleaned up all fallen debris from two neighbors' yards and mine, cleaned the street after they were through with the tree shredder, even used a blower on my sidewalk, driveway, and the curbs and gutters of my neighbors on each side of me and, of course, mine! Aside from the fact that they did a beautiful job on my trees, they were so diligent in putting everything back in order that my yard(s) were cleaner than they had been in several weeks!

 + -1 moreIt had rained and the back yard flower bed was wet. It was difficult to see the job done, but when the soil dried, I could see they had dumped the clay soil they had dug up to plant the trees in to the flower bed and left the sod underneath. The whole bed was full of rocks and clay, no top soil to be seen! I tried to plant some pansies (4" down) and hit the grass and hard clay. I called Mike and although he stated he put top soil down, I know top soil when I see it. He told me he would remedy the complaint and fix the flower bed. I called a week later and told Mike that either he fixes the bed as promised, or gives me back some of the money he charged for top soil, compost and labor that was not done. I called various times, but have not received an answer. Don't EVER pay before the job is done, even if the first time a company does a good job. It should have been a warning sign that they had to call back the stump grinder, which I paid for, as they could not plant one of the crape myrtles.
Description of Work: Previously hired this company (Mike Costello) to take down a large 20 yr-old pear tree and grind down stump. The company was recommended by a co-worker. They did a good job so I hired them again to plant - at the site of the pear tree - three small crape myrles and four shrubs. The job looked very nice when finished with mulch. I also hired Mike to dig a 12' x 5 flower bed at the end of my concrete patio. To take up the sod, and prepare the bed with top soil and compost. The estimate was given over the phone (my mistake).
