I hate giving negative reviews, so I will start with the positive. The craftsmanship of the final product is excellent. Bob is a one man show but does a great job. I required these services because the couch and chair had been badly damaged by years of two cats using the arms and frame as scratching post. My wife and I are not ones who enjoy buying new just because it's easier, and based on the quotes that I got from a number of upholstery shops, it was going to be cheaper than buying new anyways, so we opted to reupholster the furniture instead of getting rid of it. Mind you, this was not an antique that we were restoring, this is our everyday living room furniture. All the quotes in the area were on par with each other, but I chose to do business with Bob because I prefer to use small businesses and local shops for any work that I have done. The quote included what I construed as a three week timeline. Which again was on par with other shops. And this is where it gets negative...it took twice that amount of time to get my furniture back! Almost a full 6 weeks!! Unfortunately, there was NO timeline in the contract (rookie mistake on my part), so I had no choice but to sit and wait. I made numerous early phone calls, around the two week mark to check on progress and that's when the time frame starting getting skewed. I call at about 2 and half weeks and he said he hadn't started yet!! I was very upset. A few negative phone calls were exchanged and apologies by myself and Bob exchanged in reference to those phone calls...details unimportant. End result, he would get to it when he got to it and I would wait. And wait I did. Eventually, around the five week mark, my wife went the shop and talked to him person to prevent any further arguments between myself and Bob. He was almost finished with my furniture and confessed to my wife that he does mostly work for restaurants and other businesses, and since they were more profitable...he prioritized their work over mine. I wonder how long I would waited if I hadn't raised a stink, so to speak. I wonder. But upon delivery, while I'm not sure it was worth the wait, the furniture was awesome. The quality was superb and I think that my wife and I will be enjoying the furniture for many years to come.
Description of Work: Reupholstered a full size couch and chair. I purchased the fabric from a separate vendor and gave it to Bob to do the work. The fabric was about $650 total.
