spoke to owner up front describing problem. He offered advice and tool needed such that I could save service call. Though I am mechanically inclined, I have health issues and critical nature of threads caused me to appreciate his advice but choose his technician's help. Technician arrived on time, immediate response and corrected problem in 15 minutes...staying another 20 minutes to return system to operation and ensure all ok. exception professionalism, clean-up and satisfaction on my part = money well spent. I owned my own business in past and highly appreciate owner putting 1st = best of marketing/advertisement as I will continue to trust...use ...and recommend. happy and at peace with A-1.

It was a very pleasant and satisfying experience. I got three estimates for this job. And they were the lowest bid. But the reasons I chose them were the complete list of details they provided and the complete work schedule. They lived up to those exactly. They arrived on time and took only three hours from start to finish.The new panel covered the space where the old one was and they sealed it nicely.

The job took a lot longer than expected. First off the piping for the shower is on the ceiling and is not centered. The piping is in the attic and is not insulated. Then for the drain in the shower I gave specific measurements and the drain is still off. Now I have to wait even longer before I can install our shower. This has prolonged my stay at a hotel an additional 4 days. After turning on the water, I saw that the pipes were not fitted correctly and started to leak. The job was messy and not done correctly.

Excellent! He came first thing this morning and had a new disposal in his truck. Very nice and professional. Wonderful experience!

Company suggested I replace the outside unit. Unit was 15 years old and in need of replacement and I agreed. Company cost to replace the outside unit was $6,200. I shopped around and found another compatible company willing to replace it for much less, saving myself approx. $1,400.

Excellent. I needed same day service, and they were able to come out the same day. I had a wiring issue. They fixed it the same day. The electrician was very helpful and answered all of my questions. Their office was also great to deal with. Definitely recommend!

Called before 8am, when asked to call after 10am. Came the same day, was prompt, but unable to fix the problem until after ordering the proper handle. Is to call and inform me of when it can be done. I am still waiting.

Our serviceman was incredibly knowledgeable and efficient. He even had the part available to make the repair in the truck with him.

After waiting hours for a call back from another electrical contractor (we got a call back the following day--day late, dollar short), we called American Mechanical instead because they had done some excellent plumbing repair for us. Their electrician on call (it was Sunday) was Dan, and he called back promptly. He arrived within half an hour. He diagnosed the problem quickly, replaced the switches and even rewired the boxes to secure the ground, which had never been attached. He explained the problem clearly, gave the step by step of what he was going to do, and even gave some very helpful advice that could avoid a future problem with a bulb. We paid more because it was a Sunday, but it was well worth it. Top notch professional service.

We initially contacted another plumbing company that we had used before, and they did the initial diagnosis. But in order for them to proceed, they said that we'd have to hire a general contractor to demolish the kitchen sink cabinet and remove the flooring in the area. Rather than hire two different contractors, we contacted Dominion, since we have a sewer line repair plan. Dominion sent out American Mechanical but declined to cover the repair since the problem was inside the house, rather than from the exterior wall to the sidewalk. However, the American Mechanical master plumber who did the assessment said that his company could do both the plumbing repair and the cabinet demolition, so we went with them. Four days later, Erik and his assistant showed up exactly on time, removed the cabinetry and sink with a minimum of fuss, and after jackhammering through the concrete slab, located the broken pipe. The other plumbing company was convinced that the break was located at least 20 feet from the exterior wall, but in his assessment, Erik had told me that he'd be willing to bet that it was within 4 feet. He was dead-on accurate within an inch. They replaced the pipe, sealed the exterior at the clean-out, and poured fresh concrete. They returned the next morning once the concrete had cured and put all the cabinetry back (a minor miracle, since the cabinets are original construction, some 38 years old) and even replaced the water valve to eliminate the possibility of a future problem with that. They also removed an old and long broken dishwasher for us, which had been part of that sink/counter structure. These guys were professional, efficient, straight shooters who saved us the expense of having to replace all of our cabinets!

I had called another company who was cheaper but did not clear the blockage completely. I had used American Mechanical before for the problem, but decided to try with someone cheaper this time. My mistake. The cheaper company did not clear the blockage. I called American for the job because I knew they were competent and that the job would be done correctly. I ended up spending more in the end. I will return to American for the same problem next time, the first time. no question.

The worst experience I ever encountered. This company was unorganized and did a sloppy, unprofessional installation and still has not fixed serious problems after over two weeks. Had to redo their work. Would not recommend to anyone! Do not even let them in your house. HORRIBLE experience. Will have to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to have another company fix their mess. Unresponsive to needs of the customer, they make you fell that you are being "picky" and would not even let me speak to management. Cannot over emphasize my recommendation to not consider American Mechanical to repair or install ANYTHING. With no quality control, they let young, inexperienced employees perform work and do not check results. A true nightmare. Now I need to persue outside and perhaps legal assistance. The worst choice I ever made. Completely UNSATISFACTORY!!!

We were paying for a maintenance agreement in which they came out yearly to make sure everything worked properly. Then when we had a power outage and the generator died they charged to come out and replaced the battery. Power went out again, they came back replaced battery again, power went out again. They kept replacing the battery but did not diagnosis the problem which was that there was a part inside that needed replacing. Shouldn't that have been discovered in their yearly maintenance visits? That is the reason for the low grades.

It is an annual fee of $180 to do check the A/C before summer, and the heating in the fall before the winter. It is $180 for those 2 trips or visits. I would use them again.

I bought the tune-up service on Angie's List and about 10 seconds (that is NO exaggeration) after I hit the 'buy' button I received a phone call from a very happy and upbeat gentleman offering to schedule me right away. Quite impressive. The person who came out arrived within the given time window and explained everything thoroughly. One of my units is right near our dryer vent so it needed cleaning which was going to be extra (quite a bit extra). The technician actually advised me not to get the service at that time as it was a bit pricey but to buy their annual service contract which is a much better deal and includes the cleaning. I appreciated the honesty.

The checkup was a good value because it alerted me to a potential problem, but the quote for the fix was too much.

unit was broken and a tune-up did not occur. money was not refunded.

I ended up having to order a brand new system. I received 3 different quotes and they were the most competitive with a Trane system.

Great. Everyone at American Mechanical was great to work with. They were very prompt, knowledgeable, got the work done promptly and the price was in line with other estimates I received. They did the work right and results were excellent.

Though the technician seemed knowledgeable and very nice, I felt like they were upselling too much toward the end.

They came and checked it only to come back several times to replace parts that weren't the problem. In the end we had to buy a new furnace, but they worked with us by applying all funds to our new furnace. This went a long way wit us.

I was very satisfied. We've had no problems since.
