I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it worked out very good. There were parts that needed to be replaced so there were additional charges above the Big Deal price. The service was very good and the overall experience was great.

The electrician spotted the problem immediately and made the repair in just a few minutes. I was very happy with the service.

The service tech arrived at the scheduled time. He attempted to locate the main drain clean-out on my property with negative results. The house had been constructed in 1974, and the clean-out apparently had not been installed, which is now required in the city code. He excavated an area in my flower bed, after carefully removing one of the plants to provide more access to the area. He located the main drain near the slab and foundation of my house. He punched a hole in the pipe and checked the full length of my main drain with his video camera. The tech discussed the condition of my main drain line, and I inquired about installing a clean-out on my property. He told me what would be required and the approximate cost. I told him I would like to have a clean-out installed. He backfilled the hole he had dug after temporarily covering the hole he had made in the pipe. He returned on 9/24/13 with the required materials and reopened that hole to gain access to the drain pipe. He installed the clean-out after power flushing my main drain to the city clean-out. He backfilled the hole again and replaced the plant he had moved. The tech was very knowledgeable and friendly, a credit to his company which I have since learned, also, maintains my whole-house generator annually. I was very pleased with the quality of his work.

My toilet tank was taking 1-2 hours to fill; I called Wednesday afternoon to schedule an appointment. I got a call first thing on Thursday to say they were on the way and Chuck arrived shortly thereafter. I was concerned that the problem might be in the water line, perhaps a leak, but Chuck said it was a worn assembly. He had a new assembly in his truck, installed and tested it, and the whole operation took less than an hour. It was a great experience and much easier than I expected.

The tech was on time, friendly and informative. It's nice to have service from someone who clearly enjoys his work and knows what he is doing. He was happy to explain what the video monitor was showing and to answer all of my questions. I will definitely use this company again.

Company specializes in home generators and was much more knowledgeable about these smaller units. Other companies we have used tend to focus on commercial generators for hospitals and commercial buildings. Cost for maintenance was less than half of the estimates by two other providers. Problem was fixed in about 20 minutes.

Contractor was on time and efficient. I would use American Mechanical Inc again.

Excellent experience. Unbeknownst to us we do not have an accessable clean-out so not only did he have do go into our crawl space to access the line, he also had to call a co-worker to help out. They really didn't have to honor to deal but we are so grateful that they did. They were professional and explained the process to us clearly. They cleaned up beautifully afterwards. I would definitely use them again and recommend them highly.

Electrician John G. was on time and promptly did the job in an efficient and professional manner. He even swept up left over debris from the job.

As my townhouse has some age on it, I thought it was a good idea to take advantage of the Deal. On the agreed-upon date, Liz at the office called before Joel left the office, well within the time we had set aside. I found him prompt, personable, and efficient, and I am pleased that I understand the systems of my house a little better.

I used Dominion Energy Solutions (DES) warranty service to initiate the call. They initially gave another company the call, but when they couldn't get to me until late afternoon the next day, DES gave the call to Amer Mech at my request. Amer Mech had performed service on the unit due to noise on 18 Jul. Liz at Amer Mech performed the magic that resulted in a one-day decision for repair. The part was in stock. 24 hours after the initial service call I was in a rapidly cooling house. Thanks Joe! (I didn't get the name of the tech who assisted). Thanks American Mechanical. Thanks DES.

American Mechanical got the city permit for the installation and work began on 8 July 2013 with the installation of a raised platform for the generator, which took one day, followed a week later with installation of the generator and the automatic transfer switch, which took two days. The work went smoothly and was expertly done. The workers were highly trained, neat and efficient, showing respect for our home, and cleaning up all debris each day. Testing was accomplished on 2 August, which again went flawlessly. American Mechanical showed great flexibility and worked around the schedule of the propane installation, which we had contracted separately. We are extremely satisfied with the entire process and would recommend them to anyone seeking similar work.

Our 25-year old air conditioner decided to die in the middle of summer. We hired American Mechanical to replace our outdoor unit and the air handler that was in our attic. They installed a new Trane system and it is working great so far. My husband had to call the office a number of times to check on the status of when the parts came in and when we could schedule them to install the new system, but that was to be expected, especially during the middle of summer when I am sure they are very busy. It took about one week from the time we hired them for them to get the parts in and get the new system installed. However, the company lent us a window A/C unit to carry us over until they were able to put the new system in. Three technicians came to our house to take away the old condenser and air handler and install the new ones. They were very courteous and professional, took off their shoes when coming in the house, and put down drop cloths all the way from our front door up the stairs to the attic so as to protect our floors and prevent them from getting dirty. They got to our place around 9:30 in the morning and were done everything by about 3pm. I thought the price for the work, while high, was fair, especially with it being the middle of summer and the unit being a Trane.

A++++ Very professional, prompt and reasonably priced! I am so very impressed with the entire American Mechanical team. The job went perfectly from start to finish! I would highly recommend them. I was also impressed at the level of excellence provided by the customer service reps answering the phones. They were friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful answering all of my questions. They've got a happy customer for life in me..and I can't wait for the chance to recommend them!

So far - so good, The sales rep - John - was extremely knowledgable - answered all questions - gave me so much infomation -- He is indeed an expert!

American Mechanical Inc came out on Christmas eve. He came out and he was really nice. I liked the service. If there's a problem, they come back, no quibble, no quabbles. They show up when they're supposed to and when something goes wrong they came it right. Their job is kind of almost seamless. Their price was fare.

Literally just got done with this company. I called at 1000 because I found my water heater leaking/dripping in my basement. I called because I had used them in the past with the peak performance plan for AC/Heating. Liz in the plumbing department told me they could have someone out in 40min, gave me an estimate of $900-$950 for a new State, 40gal, gas water heater with a 6 year warranty. I told Liz I needed to leave my house for a work event by 130p she assured me it could be done by then. An hour went by, no call, no person so I called back. Liz told me that they had gotten side tracked due to a gysier of water (at an undisclosed location) and said the tech would be there in 20 min, 30 min later the tech called and another 35 min he arrived. Showed him to my basement, he took a look, went outside gave me a price quote of $981 and said he would have to go get the water heater...clearly this wasn't going to happen by 130. He then said it would be $49. What? Liz said that would go towards a replacement. I called Liz again and after talking in circles with her and pointing out that I too had water everywhere, I asked to speak to a manager, I was told they were in a 'meeting' and she would give them a message. Liz then called the tech to tell him that I was not going to be charged...little did Liz know the tech was standing in MY HOME, Liz told him "get the h*** out of there, get the h*** away from that crazy lady" very professional Liz, very professional. I am waiting for a call from the manager so we will see... DO NOT reccommend due to lack of respect and professionalism from staff (tech was very nice). The tech even looked embarrassed after Liz's comment on the phone. If you want to deal with a 'customer service' person that wants $1000 of your money to call you names and yell at you go for American Mechanical.

The people from American Mechanical were very professional and very accommodating. The installation guy even gave me his personal cellphone number to call if we needed any help.

They were very fast and their price was significantly more competitive than others. They completed the job in minimum time.

Prompt house visit to diagnose issue. On time for the job to be done. Work finished in slotted amount of time. The gentleman was professional and very courteous. I even called his manager to tell him what a great job he had done.

They installed it with the exhaust aimed towards the house. It ran for 3 days after the hurricane, then the carbon monoxide detector in our house went off around midnight. The fire department evacuated us and we spent the next 3 nights in a hotel. Our family spent about $500 between the hotel, fast food (since we couldn't cook) and defrosted food that had to be thrown out. When Vepco finally sent American Mechanical back out to look for problems their "Generator Specialist" said the carbon monoxide wouldn't have killed us if we stayed in the house. He said since Codes & Compliance passed it they wouldn't turn the generator away from the house unless they're paid another $500.

From start to finish, American Mechanical provided a professional and knowledgeable crew. They worked well together and cleaned up after themselves. They were agreeable to time changes to meet our schedules. The office cheerfully answered my questions when I called.

Called before they came, came on time, gave a quick and accurate estimate. Technician was courteous, fast and professional. If you're getting electrical work done, ask for Sam.

We called them and they replied quickly. They showed up the next day to see what kind of equipment they would need and what would fit into the space that was already provided. They showed up the following morning and installed it with no problems and in good time. Everything works fine. Their price was very fair and in fact less than the company we used for our air conditioner. It was a very good price.

OMG...THANK GOD FOR THIS COMPANY. I WOKE UP THIS MORNING WITH MY BEDROOM CEILING COLLAPING JUST FEET FROM MY BED. AFTER SEARCHING ANGIIE'S LIST, I CALLED AMERICAN MECHANICAL. THE WOMAN ON THE PHONE WAS VERY SYMPATHETIC, PROFESSIONAL, AND EFFICIENT IN SENDING ME DOUG. DOUG ARRIVED, WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL, MY BILL WAS EXACTLY WHAT HE SAID IT WAS GOING TO BE, AND HE FINISHED IN LESS THAN 2 HOURS. JOB WELL DONE. I WILL RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AND USE THEM IN THE FUTURE, AND TO BOOT, I SAVED $20.00 OFF MY BILL FROM A COUPON I PRINTED OFF ON-LINE FROM ANGIE'S LIST. THANKS, ELAINE
