We have a big house and the duct work had not been done but one time. We have been in our house for 15 years. We found that we had mold in our system. They did a great job of cleaning that out. We had our vent guard cleaned and they did a great job with that as well. The man who owns the company was very knowledgeable. His name is Dana, but I don't know his last name. They were here all day long and for everything they did, I thought it was a good price. We would definitely use them again.

We just purchased a house and realized that the dryer had never been vented properly and was blowing lint under our house (for 20 years). Dana came out and took care of the problem the same day. He's actually the one that recommended Angie's List to me. Great service.

It went great and I was happy that they had brand-new registers in the truck and sold them to me for very little at $7.00 each. The only thing that was different and concerning is that they are supposed to be eco-friendly but told me they recommended spraying a fungicide ("sodium chlorite") in which we would have to evacuate humans and pets for a min of one hour. I declined due to my personal chemical sensitivity issues. That of course is additional $, but I dont know how much. Otherwise, Dana and crew were awesome, very kind and professional and I definitely will call them again.

EXCELLENT! Dana was very prompt on arrival. He immediately inspected my home and explained what was necessary to correct the problems with the ventiliation. He left the house better condition than when he arrived and also provided me with "Tips" on little things that I can do myself to improve the quality of the air inside my home.

I had used this company 5 years ago and when they called to tell me it was time to clean the vents again I agreed to have them come as I was worried about my dryer vent, They arrived promptly and the 4 of them began working straight away. Everything was explained in detail, I was particularly impressed with the dryer vent cleaning, I had never known where the outlet was on the roof but they went up and found it and checked it out. The house was left in excellent condition with no mess anywhere. At no time was I pressured to add the extras although the sanitizing and new 5 year air flow screen were not in the original estimate.

The owner, Dana, provided an initial estimate over the phone ($387), but I had miscounted vents and we added the bathroom exhaust fans also, so this added about $100 to the original estimate. Upon inspection of our ductwork, it was determined that we had a lot of black mold which was probably contributing to the breathing problems I'd been having. So Dana recommended we have the ductwork sanitized as well and we agreed. The initial estimate is always based on basic information and they never know what they're going to find until they inspect the ductwork, and even though we were surprised at the increased cost, we are very happy with the final result and agree that the final cost was more than fair as they spent over 4 hours at the house. Dana and his 2-man crew did an exceptional job and now that my ductwork is clean I expect to have it recleaned every 5 years or so at a much reduced price.

What a wonderful experience. When I called to make an appointment, they (Dana, the owner and 2 workers) were able to come out the following day---they even gave me a courtesy call when they were delayed by traffic. They arrived at 0915 and went to work on the upstairs, when that was finished they went to assess the crawl space which had been inundated with water during the nor'easter. Some ducts and insulation needed to be replaced, which they did. And all vents and air ducts were cleaned and disinfected. They also managed to find out that a pipe ell from the sink in the pantry had come undone and water was just pouring from the sink into the ground--they glued and fastened it down. They spent all day from 0915 until 1815 (6:15) and even swept the street of debris! They were thorough, honest, kept me informed about everything, left everything as neat as a pin, and were very pleasant and polite.

Over the past year, my dryer started taking longer and longer to dry clothes. Sharing a house with two friends, this quickly became a bottleneck that needed fixing. I was pretty sure nothing was wrong with the dryer -- if you opened the door when it was running, you could feel that the clothes were getting plenty hot, ... it was just taking forever for the moisture to dry out. I've lived in this house for 4 years and hadn't had the dryer vent cleaned, and knowing the previous owner, he never had it cleaned, ... so that's at least 20 years since it was cleaned last! I had no clue who to call for dryer vent cleaning, so I came to Angie's List and ended up calling Airight first. Dana answered the phone immediately (didn't have to leave a voice message -- yay) and answered my question about if a clogged dryer vent would cause the dryer problem I was having (yes), gave me an estimate of how much it would cost to clean it, and explained the process of how they'd clean it. They were also very flexible with finding an appointment time that worked for my crazy schedule. They (it was a two person team, Dana and a really awesome assistant .. forgot his name) arrived on time and were really cool with me watching the process. Even though I roughly knew what they'd be doing (from the phone description), they explained everything as they went along. They use a soft rotating auger to clean the vents. They started inside, going up the wall until the pipe turned at the ceiling. A whole bunch of lint and gunk came out! Then they went outside and ran the auger from the outside vent back to where the pipe turned. They initially weren't able to run the auger the entire length -- it kept getting stuck. So they put a blower on the inside and a vacuum on the outside and blew the vent out. Turns out that birds had built a huge (!!!) nest inside the vent and all sorts of lint had blocked up behind it. It was such a thorough blockage that the moisture never made it past the nest, so all of the lint that came out after the nest was WET. It was pretty nasty. And there was a lot of it! They had to repeat the blower/vacuum process a few times to get everything out. Eventually the auger was able to make it the entire length. They did an awesome job cleaning up after the job, and even shortened up the vent that connects the dryer to the wall for me (it was about 4 feet too long). At the very end, they ran the dryer and verified that the air was venting out the side of the house. I was also impressed that at the end, they gave me a refrigerator magnet and told me that with the type of vent I have, it only needs to get cleaned every 2-3 years. No "you should have this done every single year" up-sell! Based on my experience, these guys are top notch and I highly recommend them! Oh, and now my dryer can dry four loads in the time it used to take ONE!

They got right to work, moving what needed to be moved, covering furniture as needed and deploying the necessary equipment. The add-on nature of the a/c apparently challenged the do-it-yourselfers who installed it; they apparently created several twists and turns in the duct work that resulted in Dana's equipment tearing the ductwork. This caused work to stop while they went to find a replacement part and repaired the ductwork. Dana kept me informed at each stage of the process - both the work and the repair. Once the problem was fixed, Dana showed me that the ductwork was defective, which made it more susceptible to tearing in the awkward ductwork placement. Nonetheless, he absorbed the cost of the repair. The job took much longer than predicted, primarily because of the repair, but they stayed with it until it was done, cleaned up behind them, and moved everything back into place as requested. We completed our business, and I can certainly say that I rarely have seen such a professional, competent job. Thank you, Angie!

We knew before we moved into our recently purchased 30 year old Ghent town home that we needed to get the HVAC ducts cleaned. We held out as long as we could, because we dreaded the cost, hassle and know that we have many more construction projects coming down the road. However, some breathing problems and foul odors from the vents made us realize we had to get the ducts cleaned sooner than planned. I called Dana in the off hours and he returned my call immediately. As everyone had said on Angie's List, he was professional and courteous. He quoted me $250 to clean the ducts. He arrived punctually and his crew went right to work. After he examined the air handler, he recommended that I have the sterilizing fogging treatment and I had anticipated this because of experiences at a previous home with another service provider. I did my research beforehand and knew that the only way to get rid of dust mites is to have the house sanitized. So, I agreed, purchased an electrostatic filter and also agreed to him scrubbing the chiller coils in the air handler. His team completed the tasks in short order, were very friendly to me and my wife and did a great job. Yes, he sold extra services, but I had anticipated them and feel that this was a great value. My wife and I are able to breathe a lot better now, which is the reason we called them to begin with. His reasonable pricing and professional service are very much appreciated.

Great, Dana was right on time, his team works well, they are fast and efficient. They found several problems with the system and corrected them right on the spot. I have asthma and for the first time in years I did not wake up to use my inhaler.

I used Angie's List to research Airight Duct Cleaning. We spoke to Dana, the owner, several times prior to the cleaning appt. His phone etiquette was very polite and professional. He answered all questions thoroughly. The job was performed by Dana and his assistant. Prior to the cleaning, he explained the process. The professionalism continued during the appointment. While working, a few of my neighbors stopped by to inquire about his services. He took the time to speak with them. I would recommend Airight Duct Cleaning to my friends and family.

I contacted Dana after finding him on Angie's List. He came for an appointment told us what we needed to do, came back and performed his services including cleaning the dryer vents and duct work. He also replaced the registers.

Dana was helpful when scheduling the service. Everyone arrived exactly on time and got right to work. They were professional and efficient. Dana recommended an added service for $225 to kill the fungus in the vents but we decided not to do it because we are moving soon. If we were not moving, we would've done it because it seemed like a service that was actually needed when he showed us the mold on the registers. He also recommended having them spray a fungicide on the coils and clean them. We added this service and we purchased new registers from them at a very reasonable price. Although I was told on the phone that it would take 2 1/2 hours for the cleaning, it only took a little under an hour and a half because Dana brought two workers instead of one and our ducts were relatively clean to begin with.

They did a good job. He pointed it out to me that he took a chunk out of one of my wooden doors. He said that he would take $5 off for the cost of the wood putty. I didn't think that wasn't an adequate resolution to the problem.

I found this company to be very professional and good. We were moving into a new home and wanted to make sure any remaining cat hair from the previous owner's cats was gone. They did try to sell me on special cleaners once they got there, and they also tried to sell me special filters, but I declined since I had budgeted for the agreed upon amount. They were very friendly and thorough. A two-man team does all the work, and it is the owner who comes to your home. I felt they were trustworthy and honest. They were less expensive than other companies and had a clean Better Business Bureau rating.
