Active Cleaning

Excellent cleaning service. I’ve been using Active Cleaning for 8 months and Kaci does an outstanding job each time she comes. Shes professional, on time, and does a thorough cleaning.

I read a review just now from this company I wish I'd seen before hireing. She did pretty much all the same things to us as everyone else that left negative comments so I'm not going to list everything this woman advertised but did not do. The house not being cleaned started a domino effect, she was not only VERY LATE, which I let go of, but I was also just grateful she showed. But the house was not clean so we couldn't get our photos for the realtor to get the house on the market on schedule. So now we are left getting on our hands and knees hurting ourselves further to get the house ready. She also charged me $500. My friend called and asked for the SAME thing I did, even embellished it was really dirty, she quoted her $270. It was like Where does she get off making her living, making chumps of people? She's no better than the people acting like Homeless People and then they drive off in an Escalade at the end of their day.

If I could put a negative amount of stars, I would. I paid $200 (125 Groupon and 75 to clean the refrigerator, stove, and microwave). They cleaned the refrigerator after I took everything out (I was not informed of this prior). The stove window was left uncleaned, and the cleaner asked if she could just put it on self-clean (if that is what I wanted, I would have done that myself). I asked them to clean the top of the refrigerator, and they charged me $10 for that because it is not included, and I had to take everything down first. They are not descriptive in the deal b/c they do not plan on deep cleaning anything. Everything was put up before they arrived, and I told them I just wanted the floors cleaned & bathrooms deep cleaned, and everything dusted. She asked if I wanted it swiffered or mopped. I told her I would like them to mop. NOTHING was dusted, and they did a quick floor clean and left dirt all in the corners everywhere. There was soap scum in the shower still. When they went to leave, I realized that they left my mudroom untouched and ran out to grab them. The woman left the man in my house and left him here for an hour. I addressed the lack of cleaning, and he tried to fix what he could in 30 min left after he made phone calls to complain about his coworker, understandably. He told me she went to get her kids ... that is likely why they did such a horrible job; she was in a hurry. They asked to use my vacuum, I told them, yes and while they were using my Shark Navigator, it stopped working. It had never stopped working before but, the hose had clogged with dog hair in the past, so I cleaned out the hose for them. They used it in another room, and then it just stopped working altogether. I provided photo evidence to Ms. Hinton, the owner, and she said I would get a refund at the beginning of next week since it was Saturday. I even emailed apologizing for getting angry on Saturday after calling because I figured more flies with honey. This woman talks over customers and generally treats you like **** and makes excuses. She is a SCAM ARTIST. She knows she was in the wrong but refused to pay for my vacuum cleaner. She said the vacuum cleaner looked like crap before they used it, and it was dusty but perfectly functional, but b/c it was dusty, it was not their fault. They should have been prepared with their own charged vacuum. I was trying to be friendly and not make it **** ** them. That is why I let them use mine. I waited to write this review as I thought any reasonable person would recognize that this is their responsibility. Finally, I told her if she paid me the $200 back, I would not push the issue with the $160 vacuum cleaner. This was evidently too much to ask of her. She said they did clean some stuff, so she would be keeping the $75 that I was charged for the refrigerator, stove, and microwave clean, then proceeded to complain that I asked them to make the bed. I have used Maid pro in the past, which is standard, so I assumed it was standard for most companies. Moreover, the cleaners said nothing about it when I asked but, Ms. Hinton let me know that it is also an extra charge for this. Evidently, nothing is included in this “deep clean”! After this ridiculous encounter with Ms. Hinton, I went on Groupon to check out some of the lowest rated reviews only to see that she proceeds to slander her customers when given a bad review, even going as far as to say that they are mentally unstable and insult them. I was appalled at this, not how you treat customers, and honestly, I was scared if I gave her an honest review, she would try to do this with me and refuse to pay what is owed. Her responses, at best, are unprofessional and, at worst are cyberbullying. After thinking about it, I decided that I do not care so, she can say whatever she wants about me, believe it at your own peril. I am a veteran, a doctoral student, and above all, I am a good person. I would not usually even write a small business review during these rough times, but no one else needs to get taken advantage of by this “company.” I am disabled. My husband is underway, and I just needed some help getting the dusting and deep cleaning stuff done because I cannot do it. I got more than I bargained for, for sure! On Monday, I waited to get a call from Ms. Hinton and did not, so I called her. She sent me to voicemail repeatedly, and at some point, it looked like she was beeping in while I was recording voicemail but, then she hung up. I should have known when I was scheduling, and she hung up on me that professionalism was not included, but I figured it was an accident. Tuesday, I called, and I called, and she kept sending me to voicemail. At this point, I was sure she had no intention of answering, so I called from a google voice number, and surprise, she answered. She proceeded to tell me how wrong I was for asking for a full refund despite the damage to the vacuum. She told me that Groupon would be returning my $125 but, that was it. So in total, this house clean cost $360 (160 for replacement of vacuum and 200 for subpar clean, ) Not to mention, the 4 hours I spent trying to fix the vacuum and the $12.99 I spent on the keys needed to open up the vacuum, and the hours on the phone. I contacted Groupon but have not heard back as of yet. I do not know if they will refund my money as they told me that was the companies responsibility. I think she just said that to blow me off but, we shall see. I am hoping I can post pictures in the review as I have proof of their sloppy work.

It went great! The very first time she came to clean my house we fell in love with her. It was supposed to be a one time service but she did such a great job we hired her to come once a month. The house was so spotless!
