ABSOLUTE MOVING COMPANY

We paid for 3 men for 2 hours worth of moving they arrive on time and worked very fast. They didn't damage anything and were very polite and professional. I would definitely recommend them.

This was the fourth time I've used Absolute Moving. Every time they've been very professional and affordable. They were recommended to me by a friend 15 years ago and I'm still grateful. Each move, including this (hopefully) last move went very smoothly, no surprises, no damages. Getting the move date set up and the cost quote were very easy and quick. Customer service is friendly and efficient. The moving crew showed up right on time, calling ahead to give me an ETA as soon as they were on their way. They worked quickly and efficiently, no monkey business. They were respectful of me and my things and were very friendly. Nothing was damaged in any way. I could write the very same review of each and every time they've moved my home. I would highly recommend these folks - they've made every move less stressful for me.

Set up an appointment on 3/12/15 to meet at home for an estimate on 3/17/15 at 9am. Rick called at 7:30am the morning of the 17th to state he couldn't make the appointment that day and rescheduled for 9am the 18th. I understand "life" happens so I was ok with the initial rescheduling. On the 18th he called at 9am to tell me he wouldn't be at my home until 9:30-9:45 at which time I cancelled the appointment altogether. For me, arriving when you say you're going to arrive is very important for a contractor, especially when the contractor chooses the date and time. It usually sets the tone of what the rest of the project is going to be like. Calling at 9am to let me know you're running 30-45 minutes late to an appointment set for 9am is unacceptable.

These guys were great! I called for a quote and Jeff was good on the phone and explained his services to me and prices. They were right on and no last minute changes were made. The team called my Monday morning to let me know they were on their way. A three man crew arrived and they were very polite, professional and handled all of my furniture with care and did not damage the house or scuff walls when they moved me in (and the stairway is pretty narrow). It took them three hours - and they hustled the complete time they were there. I highly recommend them!

Rick and his team was excellent! They did a fantastic job moving our household goods. Can't say enough good things about them. By far the best moving company that we have encountered (We have moved 4 times in the last 3 years). Special thanks to Mark, Brandon, Albert, T.J. and Corey. You guys are very professional! We chose Absolute based off Angie's List and because they had a large truck and team to complete our move in less time than other companies quoted us. They were priced higher than other companies, but timeliness was important to us so we decided to hire them. We asked to receive the 10% off they were offering for Angie's List members and they said they wouldn't honor the coupon because they didn't consider the Peninsula "local". We argued that that wasn't stated in the coupon so they ended up giving us the discount. The move itself went fine and they were fast. Unfortunately, one of our items was really damaged and even though we purchased extra liability insurance through them they wouldn't fix it and claimed that it was broken prior to the move...even though we are positive it wasn't. Other items were damaged as well, not significantly, but there were scratches, gouges, and oil stains on our furniture. Jeff said that he would have a repair person contact us an nobody ever did. We emailed Jeff to tell him that we were not happy and he never responded. Finally after several weeks passed we said we would accept the $100 back for the liability insurance we purchased so we could fix the broken item ourselves. They refunded us the insurance money but the overall customer service was not good and made an already stressful situation worse. I'm very disappointed and wish we would have used a different company.

From my first contact with this company to the last, their services were exemplary. Jeff, the owner and general manager came to the house and gave me an estimate for packing and moving. He was very thorough and answered all of my questions about the services that I needed. We set up a day for packing and then another day for moving. Just as promised the Packers arrived at 8:30 in the morning worked steadily, were focused and did a wonderful job of packing. On the actual moving day, movers arrived at 8:30 and, again, were professional, focused and took great care with our belongings. It is to their credit that they moved everything from a four bedroom house, Including a medium grand piano, and absolutely nothing was broken or damaged. This company is a class act, and I would hire them again pr recommend them to anybody who asks me.

Absolute's crew, led by Mark, handled our belongings with care, placed them where we wanted them ? both in the storage facility and in our new apartment ? and did so with a surprising (and welcome) amiability. There was some confusion about the final charge ? it was $100 more than the written estimate. When I called head honcho Jeff, he told me he would refund that amount. No fuss, no muss, just professionalism.

It went very well. Three men showed up on time. They were very respectful and strong men too! Each one carried out pieces with no trouble at all. They were quick too and very careful. The next stop was to the storage unit. My husband was to meet them there. It was a few streets away. As they left my house, the truck broke down up the street from me. Albert, the lead guy ran back to my house in the pouring rain to let me know they called for another truck to meet my husband at the unit and if need be to transfer our things to another truck. Albert assured me that we were off the clock and they would get to the other house ASAP. About an hour later, the trucks were at the new location.....they unloaded and put the pieces where they needed to go. They were true to their quote and price. We would definitely recommend them and use them in the future if needed.

The movers were so professional. Their expertise excellent. They moved pianos and fragile antiques with ease and care. In 30 moves, this was the best company ever.

The three men arrived on time. They did a great job. They finished the job within the minimum 2 hour timeframe. They were very professional.

4 men and a truck. On time. Professional service. Excellent movers. Price was right. Would highly reccoment.

The work crew were amazing. They went nonstop and worked hard. Damage was less than we would have expected. Still missing a few items but maybe they show up. Nothing major. Biggest disappointment was the level of communication. Very little before, and zero followup afterwards. No contract until the day of actual move, after all was packed. What little communication that existed was initiated by us. Would have share all of this with them instead of here, but apparently they don't care.

It went really well. We scheduled the appointment with them on 5/20- late afternoon. They arrived at our agreed time and we're extremely professional and efficient.

The movers arrived at the stated time. They were extremely professional - did a complete walkthrough of the house before they started moving furniture and boxes onto the trunk. There wasn't a dent made in any of the furniture nor chipped paint or holes in any walls. I am elated with the job that they did. While we had already put a lot of the personal items in boxes, they prepared all of the furniture and moved priceless things onto the trunk. It was pleasing to observe the men work throughout the day. They really appeared to enjoy their job. Excellent customer service.

We had a really good experience with them. They packed us both times, and they charged us like $2,500 to move us out and like $1,500 to move us back because we had unpacked most of the boxes. They were wonderful. They were friendly and helpful. They allowed us to keep us the quote they gave us for moving back even though it took us eight months longer than we were supposed to be. They honored the quote they had given us. They were also very understanding since we kept changing the date on them because we kept telling them we could move then we could not. They were the only crew that we worked with during the entire renovation of our house that did not actually screw us over.

Everything went great! Very professional and flexible.

Nothing was broken. I was very happy with all their work. They were on time.

Absolute was wonderful. We had to move out of our house on Thursday. The buyer had her own commitments. But the apartment we were moving to wasn't ready yet. The Building Inspector hadn't issued the Certificate of Occupancy. He inspected on Thursday and everything was fine with the building. He questioned the number of parking spots!!!??? Meanwhile what were we to tell Absolute? Eventually, we asked them to store the items for a night. They did that. But we couldn't tell Absolute what to do with our belongings because of the lack of the CO. We later learned the Inspector visited again on Friday morning and then questioned the fire lanes!!?? All of this should have been resolved during the planning stage. It shouldn't have been an issue unless the builder/developer use land earmarked for parking/fire lanes for something else. They didn't. Anyway, the CO was issued at 11:00am on Friday and we were able to tell Absolute to move us in on Friday. They eventually get here at about 2:30pm. Absolute worked with us all the way. We texted/called them and they called/texted us on an hourly basis. We greatly appreciate their efforts and flexibility.

They did an excellent job of packing everything and making sure that our possessions were safe. They loaded the POD for transport to Florida and did a great job of that, everything arrived in good shape. They also moved some things to another residence and some other items to a storage unit. Great people to work with.

I contacted this company based on reviews from Angies List and the BBB. I setup a date and time to take off work for an estimate for 3/3/14--at 9:30am..9:30am came no one at my home. I call and spoke with one of the owners who tells me they cant make it and can give me a quote over the phone?! Why didnt they call? He said he did but had the wrong number? He offers me a flat rate of 600.00. I was so upset I advised I will call back. I called back the next day spoke with another owner who says ok Im not in the office I will call you first thing tomorrow, I said well do you have the right number he verified it with me this time..It is now 12 noon, still no call.. Very unprofessional, I will be sharing this info everywhere inlcuding my 1500 facebook friends and 1000 coworkers. I really wanted to use them based on their licenses and being bonded.

I called mid-morning on a Monday and needed movers for a small local job from Ghent to Virginia Beach that afternoon or the next morning. Jeff gave me a great quote for two movers, a truck, and two hours for $250 and said no problem to schedule, and when I called back to set it up for the next morning Rick got the addresses. TJ and Sammy arrived a few minutes early, got the truck situated on a busy and narrow side street in Ghent, came inside to see what was being moved - boxes and furniture from the basement and second floor. They had it loaded within 40 minutes, got to the storage place before us, unloaded and organized the items very neatly in the unit, and finished the whole job early! Very professional, clean, friendly, and careful with our stuff! Highly recommend TJ and Sammy and will use again!

I'm not much for details, except to say that after I called Absolute for a quote.....the two owners came quickly....gave me a very competitive quote....which was what I paid upon completion of the move. I won't say how much....because that would be unfair to them....but it was more than competitive. Remember....this included packing EVERYTHING. Their teams were....to a man....excellent. Period. Fast....efficient....friendly....treated our furniture and equipment with the utmost care. They were always on time, or early. I couldn't ask for better teams. Packed us the first day....moved us the second day. No drama. Nothing broken. Not one thing was damaged. I would use Absolute again in a heartbeat. Well done, gentlemen. Thank you all!
