After the roof was put up, there were a few little things. He was very responsive and fixed everything. With regard to price, I had three quotes and they were all close. The pricing was competitive, but it wasn’t outstanding. The quality was very good.

+ -1 moreThey removed the roof and they replaced it. They also replaced the wood trim that was wrapped around the roof too. Workers were prompt in the morning and had the old roof off in about 2 hrs. There was extensive wood rot to the fire resistant plywood, but they handled it like professionals. Because so much wood had to be replaced they barely got done before the sun went down but someone from the company came out the next morning to make sure my property was cleaned and clear of all debris.

+ -1 moreExtremely difficult to setup had to call back on multiple occasions to schedule. When the service provider showed up he didn't bring a ladder to inspect my two story home, one of the original issues with scheduling. He immediately went on to tell me that the roof was UNSAFE and needed to be replaced. He then prepared an estimate and wanted to schedule the repair. When I told him I wanted to contact my insurance provider he said there was no way that they would cover the damage. I said I would have to think about it and get back to him. My insurance provider sent out another contractor that inspected the roof and said it was fine for another 5 years or so.
Description of Work: DON'T TRUST A ROOF INSPECTOR WITHOUT A LADDER! Came to my house for a big deal, said was unable to perform service.

+ -1 moreThey were a little bit cheaper than the rest, but the rest were with a whole different grade of shingles. I guess what made me go with them was the price and I guess what I would have got for just a regular shingle I got their top of the line.

+ -1 moreIt went well. There were several cancellation due to rain. They called several times to inform us that they would not be coming due to rain but then show up to do the work without notice. The workers did not inform us that they might need access to electricity and were about to hook up a neighbor power source without permission, but then stopped because they didn't need it. We were perturbed about that when we informed about it. Because we certainly could have made arrangements before anyone left the house.
Description of Work: Replaced entire roof with ridge vents and any underpayment that needed replacement.

+ -1 moreeltThe entire job was done while we were out of town. This was our 2nd home, and we picked the color shingles and gave them a key to the property. Since it was raining on the day they were to install, they put the shingles in the garage. The next day, they installed the roof. My associate went to the house that afternoon, and they were almost finished. They cleaned up the debris and hauled everything away. I had previously hired them to replace a roof on my apartment building, and so I was already impressed with their work.
Description of Work: We purchased the maintenance special for a home we had purchased with a leaking roof. They removed the existing shingles, and installed water and ice shields in valleys, ridge vents and a new roof with architectural shingles.

They did what they said they were going to do and I did not have any problems. They showed up when they said they would. They worked around my hectic schedule and came out when I would be home.

+ -1 moreThe guy showed up without a ladder. He walked around the house(on the ground) and then went into the attic for a look. He said they will reschedule and come back with the right ladders another time to look at the roof. This never happened. I called two more times to try to make it happen. In addition, I got a quote to fix some rotting wood just under the roof by the front door, but since these guys did not come back, it obviously was not fixed. Extremely disappointed.

+ -1 moreVery professional and rapid completion of the job. The clean up was excellent and there was NO sign they had even been here, except for a nice new roof. We have lived in our home for 26 yrs. and iit is over 100 years old. The roof improves the look of our home.
Description of Work: This company was excellent. Though rain delayed the original start date, the wok was completed in a fast and professional manner. The crew showed up and immediately started to work. There was no damage to any landscaping and no evidence that they had even been there at the end of the job. Though the roof we had previously had done years ago was incorrectly installed they were very good about taking close up pictures that documented why the damage occurred and how they were going to fix it. They did just that. Both front and rear porch roofs were replaced. We were very pleased with the job. There was a question about one of the existing post that we thought was going to be replaced that was reused. When this was brought to Tony Little's attention he assured us it too would be replaced and it was, even after the bill had been paid. We would certainly use this company again for all our roofing needs.

+ 1 moreI had my roofing completely replaced, the roof power fan replaced and a new chimney cap installed. I live in a gated community where they are very particular with any exterior finish work and require the thicker dimensional shingles. The crew came promptly and worked to near completion on my large two story house. They cleaned nails and roofing debris around the house before they left the first day. The entire site was cleaned meticulously after the job completion on the following day. They replaced some damaged wood and did a complete inspection of all areas to identify problems. All boots were installed with metallic material and painted black to blend in with the roof color. The project cost was excellent and the terms easy. The roofing looks spectacular. I had no issues even though a severe thunder storm with high winds and rain hit the very next day for an immediate water tightness check.
Description of Work: 1. Complete Roofing Material Replacement including all vent boots. One vent was relocated and rebooted. 2. Replace four pieces of damaged plywood 3. Replace Chimney Cap 4. Replace Roof Fan

+ -1 moreTheir gutter guy put some gutters on my house and I was not impressed with that so far. Three of them already topped off. They didn't do that great of a job. When I did have a leak in the house, I had to call them like four or five times to get them to come over to repair it and finally, it just got to the point where I just said to heck with it and I decided to get somebody else to do it. Their guy never called me. I waited for him all day. They did a beautiful job on the roof. I was impressed with that but if anything goes wrong, they weren't so good. They did an excellent job doing the house. They cleaned up but I didn't think it was that great because I ended up with three flat tires from nails. Other than that, they were very courteous and everything else. They did fine. I was happy with it. They did show up with the wrong shingles and started putting them on and thank God I was there that day and stopped it. I'd recommend them to somebody else with the portion that once they're done, it may take you a while to get them back to repair anything. They were pretty good on their prices.

+ 0 moreThis one started out really badly and we thought we were being low balled by the coupon only to find that the actual price would be very much higher. We were also worried about the comments about the low quality of shingles on the ridges and the probably lack of any warranty. We had not planned to give them a very good review and had decided to call someone else to do any actual work. However when we got a call back the following week that they would be out that day if convenient started things off on a different foot. The young man who did the work on the roof spent a lot of time up there and gave us a description of all that had been done. He also went above and beyond our expectations in doing several other small repairs. The additional charge was probably reasonable considering what the first man had discussed as usual roof repair estimates. Apparently our roof is steep in a few places. He charged us a little less than the full fee for an unwalkable roof. We felt that they had redeemed themselves at the end and were happy with the result. Purchasing the special was a very timely thing for us and we were glad we did it. I think perhaps some of the problem was that the first man didn't realize in advance that we had the special even though I showed him a copy. Overall, we are happy with the work and would probably call them again for roof problems.
Description of Work: we purchased the Angie's list coupon to have the roof inspected and minor repairs done. The initial cost was $ 169.00. After a couple weeks, we called APex to schedule the inspection. There seemed to be considerable confusion because the representative who came out had no idea that we had an Angie's list special. He started by telling us that our roof wasn't "walkable" even though it is a ranch house, so the price wouldn't be what we purchased. He then just walked around the house, taking pictures and told us that our architectural roof had lower grade shingle along the ridge line so we probably didn't have any warranty on our 13 year old house. He noted that one shingle was standing up - some storm damage - but also told us that since officially we haven't had any winds over 60 mph in Virginia Beach, that the shingle shouldn't have been damaged. He told us they would get back to us and left, leaving us very worried and disconcerted about our roof which we had thought was a very good one. A week later, we finally got a call from Apex - a different man - who announced that they did see that we had purchased an Angie's list special and that they would be out later that day if ok with us to do the actual service. The original man came back with a younger helper who went up on the roof and made some repairs. He found an area which needed patching, fixed the visible shingle, caulked around the chimneys and also fixed a piece of trim which had blown off in the "less than 60 mph" wind storm. He hammered down some loose nails which he noticed. He also fixed a piece of siding which we hadn't noticed had come loose. The charge was an additional $100.00 for the partially unwalkable roof. The man who actually did the roof work reassured us that the roof was in good condition and that those architectural shingles on the ridges were ok in fact.

+ -1 moreI bought the big deal and did not notice the section that stated that if the roof was not walkable with a pitch greater than 6/12 there would be an additional $175.00 charge. After the service was completed (and the technician had walked the entire roof) it was pointed out that this fee would be due because my roof was 12/12 pitch. I felt like it was a bait and switch. I began to wonder how many people's roofs fall into the 6/12 category and whether this is the average pitch of most roofs. I would think that for the extra $175.00 the inspector would have needed some additional equipment. Nope, not the case. I have a cape cod style home and I am sure that very few if any of this style has the required pitch to avoid the additional charge. It would probably be better if he gave some examples of homes that would or would not (on average) fall into the category of "walkable". This is the second big deal I have purchased and I wasn't thrilled with the first one. Lesson learned on my part. Read the fine print before I purchase. Oh, and I still haven't received the estimate of additional work needed. You would think that for $344.00 that would have come lickety split.

Description of Work: We received an estimate for a repair project for my home. The estimated cost was exactly what we paid. There were no unexpected costly surprises. We were very please with both representatives that came to discuss replacement, materials and costs. They were professional, punctual and provided details about the company and their services.
