"We had a ""problem"" move. We had to be out of our Virginia Beach apartment on one day, but could not move in to our new house in Fredericksburg until the next day. A Friendly and Affordable Mover was able to hold our household goods (and LOTS of boxes) securely overnight and delver them to our new house ON TIME the next day. The moving staff was fast, knowledgeable, and very friendly. They had to share the elevator with another mover on a different floor, but still got us out of our 4th floor apartment quickly. Nothing chipped or broken in the move. Great service in holding our truck overnight in their secure facility, and unloading went faster than loading. Went really well, they came on time at 8 am, took them about 2 hours. Great friendly movers.

I think overall they were good. They were fairly punctual. I think overall they were friendly. A little bit too friendly in some ways. They covered everything and we had some special requests and they took care of them. Overall, I think they were responsive. They have to make sure they cover appliances when they move them. It took a day to move.

I'm so pleased with these movers!!!! Moving is always an exhausting process, but these guys made is awesome! I originally called and they offered an in-home flat fee quote. The owner came out, took a look at all the furniture we had and gave me a quote that beat another highly rated Angie's list mover by about $150 or so. We had a 3 bedroom townhouse with GRANITE TOPPED FURNITURE in one bedroom. If anyone has ever owned granite furniture, you know how ridiculously heavy that stuff can be. They had to move it down the stairs from our townhouse and right back up again in the new house. Exhausting! I never heard a single complaint from them and not a single swear word...which woulda been flowing freely if my husband and I had attempted the move together. We were given an arrival time between 8-9 am. They arrived at 8:10 and were so friendly. There was the crew chief who spent most of his time handling the paperwork and loading the truck, and two other guys who did the majority of the in-house lifting. We walked the townhouse and they got an idea of how they wanted to proceed. Then I got to sit back and relax while they took care of everything. I didn't get the names of the gentlemen, but two of them were family by marriage. They were pretty funny guys, joked and sang. It really made the process great. Nothing was dropped except their own tool kit. :-) They took apart beds/crib and reassembled in the new house. They were so conscious of the walls and banisters. They really took more care than I ever would have! We were out of the townhouse in less than 3 hours and into the new house in another three. They took breaks when they needed them and sacrificed their knuckles for my furniture. Nothing was damaged and everything put back together very well! If they had any questions about where to put things they asked. They made sure my furniture was just were I wanted it, etc. Bottom line is we had a great experience. We had some incredibly heavy furniture and they took care of it without a single groan or complaint. Movers are well worth the money...but please tip the guys if you think they do an exceptional job. You only move every 5-10 years on average and these guys turned around and helped someone else the very next day.

From start to finish, they were friendly and professional. Not the most polished movers, but all nice and respectful. I had no problems at all with them, Their price was the best among 3-4 estimates. No regrets. Would use again!

They were average. The price was good. We would go with somebody else the next. To make my experience a solid A, They should have been a little more careful. They ripped the sofa on a nail that was on the wall.

The quote was a good price. It wasn't the cheapest, but it wasn't the most expensive. Seemed like the best value. They were able to make arrangements on short notice. Showed up on time and started just before 9 am and got down around 8pm. There was some damage to some of our stuff, but it did't exceed the $500 deductible. The most frustrating thing was a large scratch on the hardwood floor in the new house. It was caused by dragging a dresser across the floor.

Perfect in every way!!! The crew was extremely helpful. They went over and beyond my expectations. The team was very upbeat and very professional. At the new residence the team was very accommodating and patiently rearranged furniture until I was happy. I would not hesitate to use them again and I highly recommend them to any other person needing a moving company.

The guys arrived on time.... But it was pretty much down hill from there. 1. One of the movers spoke to me like I was an idiot ALL day, BOTH days. 2. The language used by the men was HORRENDOUS! Had my two children been home, I would have been livid-it was bad enough I had to listen to it. I chalked it up to lack of education. 3. None of my furniture was wrapped in shrink wrap as promised-I have several damaged pieces. 4. The men were very forthright with their annoyance at having to move out playset.... It was part of the deal from day one. 5. The men unzipped my husband's tool bag to use several of his tools which are now missing. This includes his entire ratchet wrench set.

The discount was a scam. The company sent three people: One had been hired a few months prior and the other two were really new at the job and very inexperienced. One asked to use our bathroom within minutes of their arrival and also took a lot of breaks. The job took much longer and we were out an additional $300! Senseless damages occurred. For example, an expensive, solid, hardwood dresser was chipped ON THE TOP in multiple places, which indicates pure inexperience and carelessness. Most of the pieces were not wrapped properly; scratches everywhere. I would not recommend this company. It overcharges its customers but uses under-trained movers. When my husband called to speak with the owner, he made it clear that he wasn?t going to do anything about the situation and really didn?t care.

Dan, the owner, came out to do the estimate and was knowledgeable and courteous. He gave a very fair estimate and included a military discount. The team that came on moving day were fantastic. They were timely and did a thorough job of reviewing the house before they began. They were friendly, courteous, professional and very careful. They really wanted us to be completely satisfied and we were. I would highly recommend this company and I would use them again.

First off, I have to say that the 3 gentlemen (James, Kece and Mikell) who came and moved our stuff into the house were the nicest, friendliest, considerate and hard-working movers. They hustled the whole time but still were really friendly not only with us but with each other. They were very polite and never got frustrated or complained. I just cannot say enough good things about them. They were very careful will all of our things and were really careful about doors and walls as they carried stuff in. From start to finish, I was wowed by the service provided by this company.

We needed movers for an emergency relocation and had less than two days to get everything done. I was able to request services online and they got back to me immediately with options for appointments. The crew showed up on time and were very friendly, efficient, and professional. Moved furniture and appliances out of the house, drove to a second location to drop off the appliances and pick up an additional piece of furniture, then drove to the new apartment and carried everything up a flight of stairs and put it in place. All in less than two hours. Highly recommended. I would use them again without hesitation.

Three guys arrived on time prepared to work. Jeremy, the supervisor, introduced himself to us and assured us that the job would be seamless and smooth. He, and two other guys, were very methodical in their work. They worked together as a cohesive team, which made the time go quite fast. Furniture that was difficult to fit into our new home was handled so as to minimize damage to furniture and walls. There was no damage to any of our property. Although it was a very hot day, Jeremy and his team were very polite and professional, even to our 8 year old son. They did not make or accept phone calls that interrupted the flow of the move, which I appreciate. The last time we moved, we used another well known moving company, which one of the two guys spent more time on the phone than moving. We made a local move from a townhouse to a house, which took longer, and we had to pitch in to assist to get the move accomplished. This move was money well spent. It's apparent that Dan Frazier expects the best from his employees, from the lady who accepts the payments, to those who show up to effect the move . I will recommend A Friendly & Affordable Mover to anyone.

This is a great company. We have used them before and will no doubt use them again. They are professional and quick, they know what they are doing when moving things. They called and were asked if they could come a bit early which was no problem for us. They showed up and got right to work. They were very careful with the pieces I had them move. Some of the pieces were very heavy and had to be moved from one room to another and upstairs. They were very careful when moving through doorways and with the banisters, not one nick or scratch. We would not consider using any other moving company.

Went smoothly; they were efficient and knew how to properly pack things so they wouldn't shift in transit.

We had some heavy leather sofas, dressers, large desk and crib. They were very gentle with all our stuff, everything arrived on time an not a single scratch. The two fellows that helped us were very friendly too. I will use them again.

This was the best moving experience possible. The team was professional and extremely considerate. We would highly recommend them to anyone needing help with a move.

They called us the day before to re-affirm the appointment from 12:00-2:00 on Saturday. We got to the storage unit a little before noon on Saturday and waited for three hours. During that time they neither called or showed up. At 2:00 we called and left a message. A little before 3:00 we left to come home. When we got home they finally called (so we know they had our number). We cancelled the service and looked for someone else. This was the worst experience we've had with someone off Angie's List.

We had to move everything out of our house in one day because of closing schedules. Because of this Mr. Frasier gave us a quote which included extra movers so that we could have everything out of our house by a particular time. On the day of the move less movers than we were promised and paid for showed up. Because of this we were not able to get everything out of the house before the new owners showed up. This also threw everything after that off schedule (we were late for our closing, late for the locksmith, late for our walk-through, etc...). Also, upon unpacking our items we found numerous broken items, all of which were packed above and beyond what was needed. When we complained about this we were basically told we were out of luck because they did not pack our belongings for us. Before we chose A Friendly Mover, Mr. Frasier assured us that all of our belongings would be insured, and he was well aware that we would be packing all of our own items when he told us this. Mr. Frasier and the other people we communicated with to try and resolve these issues were anything but friendly after they were done moving us. I would absolutely NEVER use A Friendly Mover or recommend them to anyone. Response - Yes, move year was a typo. Date provided is last contact with company after having to contact BBB to get a resolution after company did not want to deal with us once we complained that many items were broken and left at our previous residence. If a company is provided my information for this review, then they can clearly search based on my information to see that a contract/deposit/payment was made to them.

Handled furniture very professionally and without wasting any time 5. Once the furniture was unloaded, they willingly relocated certain pieces of furniture if it didn?t look right at that spot. We agreed with their suggestion. 6. The whole process was completed on time and they thanked us for using their services.
