There is a reason Jerry tells you (as he did me) that he doesn't do estimates. Do not agree to his service without a quote/estimate unless you are willing to pay a lot. He was 5minutes from my house, so he dropped by since it was convenient. Did about 15 minutes of work for about 5-minute pex ball-valve replacement job (It was very easy to access, and I told him exactly what to expect on the phone before he got there), then charged me for an hour of work at $140/hr. On top of that he charged me at least double the price he should have for the parts. I will definitely be doing the work myself next time. I called him and asked him about this and he tells me he regularly does 8+ jobs a day like this, but that everything is expensive and he's got to cover driving costs (recall he drove 5 min out of the way for me). I'll let you do the math and be the judge.

Jerry is a professional. I was up front about my concern over price and he assured me it wouldn't be near that. His work was quick, accomplished well, and clean.
Description of Work: Drain clog removed, bathtub drum trap replaced with p trap, and installed a new cleanout because previous owner put washer into cleanout. I've also used Jerry for a bathroom remodel before at a previous home.

Very full of it!!!! Promises A LOT in detail, over and over and over, then over bills and doesn't do the work. Also, took materials I paid for. Then threatened to tell all other plumbers to steer clear, as if I had done something wrong. I paid for over $1000 in materials, charged to my credit card, he used approx $6 or less and took the rest. When he came to get a check for work he billed over $2000 for 27 labor hours, he stated he billed for "driving time", he worked a total of MAYBE 3 hrs total, that's being generous! He said he would give me back the materials to take back. NOT!
Description of Work: Not much

My issue with Mr. Roberts is not with the quality of his work, which I believe was quite satisfactory, but with his business practices. If you choose to work with Mr. Roberts, be sure to get a detailed (time and materials), written estimate for the work to be performed (as well as a couple of estimates from other plumbers to compare it with), ask to see a copy of the permit he has secured to do the work (if a permit is required), and get a receipt for the job when it is done.
Description of Work: After cleaning the sewer line a couple of times, charging each time, Mr. Roberts recommended that the sewer line be replaced, which I agreed to.

I've used him twice. He's good with communication. He was running late so he gave me a call because he had an emergency call. When he showed up he was very professional, personable, and got the job done. He cleaned up after himself and left. He gave me recommendations on what I can do to keep the sewer line open. I felt that he was honest to tell me I didn't have to replace the line yet. I thought his price was right.
Description of Work: He snaked out and put a camera down the sewer line.

Be sure to obtain quote before any work is done. Very upset over the price that was charged.
Description of Work: Had a water leak underground between well pump and house. The company dug approximately 12' long ditch / 2.5' deep. Ground was soft from recent rains. They completed job in less than 3 hours. Collected their bill of almost $1100. When I confronted owner on the amount, he described the work as hard because of digging up the old water line and replacing. A rather large amount of dirt went into line, to the point of blocking two faucets in the house. Wife and I had to remove every filter from faucets to clean the mud / dirt out.

They did a fine job. I think they charged way too much for the job that they did for me. He was not punctual. He was supposed to be here one day and did not show up until the next day.
Description of Work: They replaced an outdoor plumbing line for me.

Well it was a fri. afternoon late and our drains were starting to drain slow and were getting clogged up. A friend gave me Mr. Roberts # and I called him while he was eating supper and told him my problem. He gave me a verbal service estimate ($200) and I agreed, so he was on his way. He knew what the problem was and fixed it in a timely fashion. He said he could help me out a little on the price because it was a minimal type fix ($150). Good guy.
Description of Work: Main sewer lines were clogged in basement.

Poorly. He lied.
Description of Work: Electric Water heater not producing hot water as usual. Suspected Bad element. Was not an emergency. Jerry Roberts insisted he coutld come after dinner. He brought a young son (about 3 yrs old). Made me uncomfortable. He said elements tested fine. I knew he was lying. I'm an electrical engineer. An open resistance test indicates bad element, not good as he said. Just wanted to get rid of him - so I paid him as he insisted.. He is unethical.
