Owner came out to our home for a consultation/estimate. We liked him, very friendly, seemed knowledgeable in his craft. We agreed on a day for him to return to do the job. Since this was a few weeks out, I called the morning of the appointment to confirm a time of their arrival. Mr. Jacobs seemed disoriented a bit, came across curt and rude, and said they would not be coming today. No apology... just that his crews were booked all day. I asked about rescheduling and he mumbled a bit about the weather forecast and said he'd call me the following Monday. Because of his evasiveness and eagerness to get off the phone, we weren't shocked when we didn't hear from him again.

Well, I really liked Richards crew. They were nice, hard working, efficient and just all around good guys. They went out of their way to assist with some things they saw be doing around the yard while they were doing their work. That is why this is so hard to give this review. I am ultimately very disappointed. The work was partially performed in October of 2015. They had to come back to grind some stumps. Richard was having mechanical trouble with his stump grinder and I made full payment before the job was completed trusting that he was going to come back to complete the work. I made full payment before the job was completed. Shame on me. I trusted this was a safe bet and was burned. I have contacted Richard 4 times since then and each time he said he would be out in a week. I have yet to see him to complete the work.

An awesome experience! Very professional from start to finish. These guys know what the customer wants... I called for an estimate to remove two large Maple trees from my residential home. Mr Jacobs was on-Site the very next day with a very reasonable estimate, considering the amount of overgrown roots that I wanted removed. After scheduling the work to be done within the next two weeks, I received a call the very next week saying he would be able to get it all done the next day. The crew arrived about 9am and were finished before I returned from work at 5:30pm. Trees & Roots are gone, the mess was cleaned up... what more could I ask for. They even cut & saved some of the limbs for me to burn in my fire pit as a last minute request. I would recommend Jacobs Tree Worx to anyone having a tree removal need.

They did a great job! Every detail was done just as I had asked and everything was cleaned up once they were done. The owner was onsite at the completion of the project, as well as points throughout the two days, to ensure that things stayed on track and to ensure that I was happy with the work before they left. Very professional and easy to work with. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing work to be done.

The men that worked on this job were very efficient and friendly to have on our property. They were willing to go the extra time and energy that it took to finish the job at the end of a long day. They were concerned with the cleanup and were very helpful with suggestions to us on other trees. We would hire them again! Thank you Richard and team.

My first tree work by Jacobs Tree Worx was 12/14/2010. Payment was by credit card with $100.00 down, remainder upon completion with firewood from the trees being delivered to my house. The second tree work was 3/21/2014. Payment was again by credit card but this time Mr. Jacobs charged my credit card the total amount before any work was done The large locust tree was cut and instead of bringing me the firewood the tree was taken somewhere else. Not to worry, Mr. Jacobs said he would bring me twice the amount of oak firewood as the locust tree would have produced. The brush from the tree was on my neighbors lawn. The neighbors complained for four weeks. I relayed their complaints to Mr. Jacobs. Finally 30 days after my credit card was charged, the brush was cleaned up. I did not receive any firewood from the trees that were cut down on 12/14/2010 as mentioned above. The locust tree was cut down after 3/21/2014. I have been waiting since then to see if the firewood would arrive. It has not arrived yet. Maybe if I got Mr. Jacobs to cut trees for me for a third time I would get firewood out of that cutting. Don't you think so? As it stands right now I will need to buy the firewood that Mr. Jacobs did not bring.

The lead man/climber knows his stuff and watching him and the other guys work together and bring the trees and limbs down was like watching a work of art! Great team work and camaraderie between them. Richard was great to work with and very comfortable and friendly guy. He even fit me into his schedule this week to accommodate me before i had to return to work next week to a very limited time off schedule. I got 4 estimates and his was the best and more than fair I felt with clean up. All was cleaned up and looked great. I need look no further if I need future work with my trees, my new friends at Jason Tree Worx are in my book. Thanks guys!

He had an absolutely great crew that game and worked. They cleaned up and did an absolutely wonderful job. They were good people. I went with them because a neighbor recommended them. They were special people. They were very professional.

Richard Jacobs came out within a couple hours of my first call and gave me an estimate. The estimate was very reasonable compared to others I had received. They were able to come out within 2 days and the job was done with a few hours. The climber (Jerry) had it all together. He had the eye for making the tree open up the front of our house and give it a better curb appeal. Jerry worked very fast and very efficient. He kept the ground guys busy and they seemed to have a great rhythm. Richard showed up when they first started to make sure everything got off without a hitch, and came back once they were through to retrieve payment. They cleaned up as if they hadn't been there prior to leaving. This was a great experience, very professional job and crew. Well done.

My neighbor hired Jacobs Tree Worx to top some trees on his property, well they ended up cutting several trees on my property also. They left several large limbs in my yard and a significant amount of debris on my patio. As they were cutting the trees, the limbs fell on my patio next to my house. I contacted Richard Jacobs to let him know that several limbs fell on my property and they needed to be removed. He replied that they would be back the following week to clean up the limbs and debris, they have never returned, even after several phone calls and several promises to return, the limbs and debris are still in my yard. Be cautious if they are performing work for you or your neighbor and check to ensure everything is cleaned up before they leave because they will not return. Unfortunately, I was not at home when they cut my trees and I have been unsuccessful in getting them to return.

The initial cutting down of the trees and cutting into pieces small enough to remove went very well. After that, unfortunately, we had months of endless rain and due to the slope of my property they had difficulty getting a skid steer in to remove the largest stumps. When the weather finally did dry out I had to make repeated calls to request the job be completed, finally submitting a letter to the company reminding them of their contractual obligation .It created a tension between the owner and myself that lasted through the completion of the job. He went from greeting me with a handshake to ignoring me completely. When they finally were able to get back out to my property the remaining debris was cleared in a very haphazard manner. One tree that they promised to "pile by my shed" so that I could use it as firewood was dumped by the skidsteer and left for me to move, I was also promised that when they finished using the skidsteer they would "smooth out the ground as best we can." No effort was made to smooth the area that was chewed up by the skid steer and I was left to do it myself, cleaning up many empty water bottles that were thrown all over my property. Also, when removing the heavy equipment from my driveway the skidsteer tore a large area of asphalt out of my driveway which I did not notice until after the crew was gone. By then I was just happy to have them gone and had to bear the hassle and expense of repairing my driveway. My initial impression of Jacobs was that they were first rate but the lack of follow up and completing the job as promised left me feeling I would not use them again.

Except for giving us 3 dates they were going to be there & then not being able to make it our experience w/ Jacobs Tree Worx was great. Did a great job. Cleaned up the area they were working in. Professional & courteous. The best price out of 4 estimates we received.

We would like to strongly recommend Richard Jacobs of Jacobs Tree Worx to remove or trim your trees. It took him about a month to show up due to rain, but once here the tree was down and gone in a day. His secret is that he has very good staff that he pays well. His guys like to work with him. The tree overhung the house in one area, and the guys took it down very carefully and safely, and never touched the house. Richard ground out the stump three days later. Mr. Jacobs knows his competition, and sets his prices to be very fair. He has worked at other home in our neighborhood, and everyone likes his work and prices.

Though ran a little late getting to my job, they were quick and instead of using big expensive machinery to run across your or your neighbors yard, their man does it the old fashion way by climbing the tree. I was impressed as my neighbor was and thus she hired them too. Companies with big expensive machinery will cost you double or triple more, I know I checked. Who wants to have big machines on their yard, with possiblity of damaging yard or pipes below. Too bad I had not called them to thin my Bradford Pear tree, perhaps the storm would ot have taken it out.

I had used him in the past; I had trees in my driveway and the first time I had called him, he got someone out immediately to trim the trees in my driveway so that I could get my car in and out. It was a great response from him. The last time he came out; he took down a lot of trees and broke them into half. I paid him over $5000 and my insurance paid about $1900 of that for the job. I would use him again in the future and as a matter of fact I have some stump grinding to be done by him.

We live in PA and this work was done at our home in VA. All communications were done with Mr. Jacobs via phone or email. When we arrived for vacation the following week, we saw that all the work was done as agreed and expected. Jacobs wasn't the lowest estimate, but I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

Fairly well. They were quick, called back immediately, and were here when they said they would be (actually, a little bit earlier, which worked for us). The one thing that happened which caused me to give a B instead of an A review on professionalism was they accidently dropped our neutral from the power line to the house, but that was fixed by a call to AEP. Could have been a problem, but they made us aware of what had happened and we called the power company. They cleaned up throughly and even took away some yard trash that we had on the curb that we had put their previously.

At the first job. The second job was to remove a tree. Part of the tree was dead. I was given the choice of raising the canopy or taking the tree completely down. I chose to have the tree taken down
