Description of Work: Efforts to contact wheats to inquire about service met with no response or disinterest, even after speaking directly with supposedly one of their managers. I can understand a company simply stating that it was not taking on new customers or that it only serviced customers interested in a certain level of service. However I felt wheats actions ( or rather lack thereof) was totally unprofessional and if indicative of service would be of of questionable quality.

Description of Work: I have a two year contract with Wheat's for extensive and compete property maintenance at my home. This covers all aspects of grass, trees, bushes, and irrigation. The work crews that conduct the maintenance are knowledgeable and do an outstanding job. I have also had them install able stone patin and solve a difficult drainage problem. The results are truly exceptional, especially the drainage. I no longer have ANY drainage issues, regardless of the amount of rain. They can be expensive, but the result is top notch.

Description of Work: We had extensive work done in our yard to include digging out the side yard to level it, masonry walls, patio, waterfall and pond, driveway, walkways, retaining walls, landscaping, pergolas and irrigation. Our designer, Pragya Mishra, was wonderful and took into account all our wishes. The crew was wonderful and at the end of the project we had a party for them which they truly appreciated. We won a City of Alexandria Beautification award and constantly receive compliments. We are on a corner so our patio is visible to those who pass by. We chose to keep it somewhat open because we enjoy sharing our wonderful space and meeting our neighbors. We had some trees and bushes that did not survive the first year and Wheat's came back and replaced them all. We continue to use them to open and close our irrigation system and to periodically repair the waterfall pump, which has been done several times at no cost to us. We would definitely recommend Wheat's.

Description of Work: Pragya Mishra designed our landscaping for the front yard and, the following year, for the back yard. The landscaping involved both hardscapes (stone steps and patios) and plantings, as well as irrigation and lighting.

Description of Work: I only requested an estimate for a new patio, drainage system for my gutter downspouts, and a lawn sprinkler system. I never got the estimate.

Description of Work: General spring clean-up, re-mulching of flower beds, construction of a riverstone swail, to prevent erosion, repair of existing underground sprinkler system.

Description of Work: Wheat's gave me a quote for doing an extensive overhaul of my front landscaping (beds, plants, driveway & walkway).

Description of Work: They cut the grass, they fertilize, and they spray for insects. They also treat the soil for grubs and the plants for insects. They give the plants plant food.

Description of Work: Created a front lawn...by pulling out current shrubbery, and replanting elsewhere if salvageable, removing ground cover plants and applying round-up. Changed the shapes of various beds to widen whole impact and increase area of green lawn we were looking for. Then used small back-hoe to grade soil. Planted with seed in September and laid straw to prevent wash-out. Re-did edging and applied lots of mulch. Instructed us on watering.

Description of Work: Wheats did a fabulous landscape design for the backyard of our new house, which had been an overgrown neglected jungle for 20 years by the previous owners. Jason Nussbaum did a terrific job seeing potential amidst the tangle and preserved the wooded glen look while cleaning up the mess. He took into account our kids' need to play, and installed a great combination of hardy perennials. Even now, 18 months later, the place still looks great. Jason also re-did the front yard landscape for which we still get compliments a year later. One neighbor admitted he copied our new landscape design for his own home.
