An Argent representative Ron Gallant sold me a new Fujitsu air conditioning system, including what the contract said was a thermostat. When the system was installed I was instead given what Fujitsu calls a controller that does not tell you the actual temperature in the room and is not backlit. You could not see the temperature setting in the room at night and it was difficult to read it during the day. Even the Argent installers told me they hated that controller and that other customers had complained about it as well. When I complained, the Argent representative told me I would have to pay an additional almost $300 for a real thermostat and became belligerent when I told him I had already paid for a real thermostat. He eventually agreed to install a real thermostat, but only if I paid $200. Since I needed the thermostat to properly operate the air conditioned, I paid it under protest. I then complained to the Better Business Bureau, but Argent and its parent company U.S. Technology Services refused to respond to the Bureau. Because Argent and U.S. Technologies are not members of the Better Business Bureau the Bureau said there was nothing they could do.

My experience with them was excellent. Their prices were reasonable.
