It was terrible! With so many movers in the Washington area, there's no way you should ever consider Three Men and a Truck out of Vienna.
Description of Work: I highly recommend NOT going with Three Men and a Truck out of Vienna, VA. They are not affiliated with Two Men and a Truck. The movers needed to move me in my new place by 4:30 pm, and pick up my storage. They failed to do either of this because they did not have the equipment, they were slow, and they brought a van that was too small. The movers showed up without a dolley and other basic equipment. That lead them to waste a bunch of time moving our boxes box-by-box. It took them five hours, from 9 am to 2:15 pm, to load our 1 bedroom den, 900 square foot apartment down the hallway to their moving van. My apartment is a condo with an elevator. It has a bed, 2 dressers, night table, big screen tv, and three couches. I also had an average number of boxes. It took five hours to load this - there were no stairs involved. Around 1:30, I was getting nervous because I needed them to get some extra boxes from my storage space. So I left to go to storage, and hauled every box I had out to the loading dock. I told them to meet me by the loading dock. Because my space is far from the dock, it took me an hour to load it. The movers finally showed up at storage at 3:15. We were really pressed for time, because, as I said before, we needed to be unpacked at our new place by 4:30. When they showed up, the van was packed and we couldn't fit the stoarge boxes into the van. So I had to move all the boxes from the loading dock back to my storage unit, which wasted another hour of my time. I told the movers just to go straight to the new apartment because, as I told you, we had to be in by 4:30. The movers arrived at the new apartment by 4:00. Once there, they wasted more time until wife, who again told them about the deadline started lifting our heavy furniture herself. After I arrived and started helping, we were able to unload the in an hour. When they got to the apartment, they scratched the floor, and I found my mirror had been broken. After all this, your movers charged me overtime for the move! That really made me furious, because it was their fault in moving so slow. They didn't have a dolley, and one of the movers admitted it was his first time moving. In conclusion, your company provided me with a miserable moving experience. The movers failed to do their job and be completed by 4:30. Needless to say, I will not recommend your service to any of my friends that are moving. Your truck was too small, and we couldn't even get our furniture out of storage. It took them 10 1/2 hours to do move furniture from a 1 bedroom den 6 miles across time. Your price was double what you estimated. They also scratched our brand new floor, and broke one of our mirrors. Your estimate for the job was $400. The final bill was over $1,000. Plus, because their truck was too small to get anything out of storage, I need to pay an additional $130 for another month's of storage and need to rent a uhaul to get my stuff out. All day yesterday I was thinking - why didn't I go with Georgetown or another company?
