S & S Ceramic Tile

I found Ali on Angie’s List before moving into our new house. He met us just 30 minutes after our initial call at the model home to take measurements and gave us advice on the best types of tile to use. We ended up choosing the a hexagon mosaic tile that was in the model home. Ali was in constant communication with us as we went through the process of purchasing tiles and grout. He was very flexible on the start date when our shipment arrived late. The project took 2 days and we are very happy with our new backsplash!

Based on his strong reviews on Angie's List we called Ali to help us troubleshoot some issues with a 8 year old renovation of our master bath completed by the previous owner. There were settling and cracking problems with the marble floor in addition to the shower pan leaking. Ali spent a lot of time assessing what had been done and offering alternatives for how to best fix it in a way that wouldn't be prohibitively expensive. We went with his recommendations on how to fix both the floor and shower pan and are extremely happy with the results. Ali was able to start the project soon after providing the estimate and arrived on-time each day and completed the work within the expected time frame. He was very neat during the demolition of the existing floor as well as the remainder of the project always leaving things clean at the end of the day. We highly recommend Ali for your tile projects.

We called Ali to install tile floors in two of our bathrooms on separate occasions. He was extremely responsive and gave very reasonable estimates for both jobs. Ali was more than willing to work within our timelines to complete both jobs. Both floors came out great!! Recommend using him for all your tiling needs. We will certainly try to hire him again in the future!!

Ali did a great job with our master shower tile and grout. He also sealed the marble and granite countertops in our bathroom and kitchen. He was thorough and careful in his work. He was very nice to work with.

Upon meeting and discussing the project with Ali, I felt immediately confident that he would do a good job. He was fine with me purchasing the tile myself and gave me some tips on what to look for. On the day Ali was to start the project, I messed up and had the wrong day—thinking it was not until the following week. I felt so bad that I messed up his schedule, but he was so understanding and worked out a way to fit my project into his already busy schedule (which BTW happened to be the week before Christmas). Ali is definitely a master of his craft and takes pride in doing a great job. You can tell he's a perfectionist at heart—making sure everything is done right and looks good. He's also an organized worker and didn't leave any mess when he was done. Ali is a pleasure to work with on all levels. I can't imagine ever using anyone else!

Awesome. S&S Ceramic Tile did a great job on my job, which was of moderate difficulty including tight space and poor original materials. His experience was clear as he was able to handle all the challenges the job presented to him. S&S was prompt in responding, even able to start the job the next day. If I knew this would be this easy, I would have done this years ago.

The job went great! He said he would come everyday until it was done and he did. We gave him our garage code and he is such a neat and clean worker. Never had to clean up after him. I had a rug delivered one day when he was here and he helped me cut the rug pad - even that was perfection. He went above and beyond for us! I will recommend him to everyone I know.

Ali was professional and punctual. He takes pride in his work and is a genuine artisan. After our initial discussion of the job, I was confident about his skill sets, and the resulting tile installation was exactly what I wanted.

Everything went very well! One of our porcelain wall tiles in our master bathroom shower stall had cracked. (It had been installed about 13 years ago during a house remodeling project.) It was a relatively small job, but Ali called me back right away and was able to come to the house and give me an estimate the next day (Thursday). He was then able to schedule the work for the next Monday. Ali is very meticulous and does excellent work. It actually took a bit longer for Ali to repair the area as the original tile installer had cut corners, but Ali stayed true to his estimated repair cost. He removed the cracked tile and checked the cement board behind it. He then replaced the damaged tile with a new piece of extra tile that we had kept from the original job. He also removed several of the surrounding tiles (without damaging them) and re-installed them properly. (They were large 13"x 13" tiles and were missing the proper "thin set" for adhering to the cement board.) He explained in great detail everything that he was doing and what some of the problems were with the original tile job. He worked carefully and methodically so as not to damage any of the surrounding tiles. He was extremely helpful and pleasant and a joy to work with. I would highly recommend him! Ali was recommended by our cabinet rep. while renovating our basement space. He was amazing! He is a true artist and we are extremely fortunate to have his work in our home! We first hired him to do our cellar door wood-like tile for the floor. He was meticulous in his work to ensure it was level and perfectly installed. We hired him again to come back months later for our fireplace surround and backsplash once the cabinetry was installed. Finally, he installed the “city bricks” tile on our wall. It all looks fantastic! (Photos included here). His advice and recommendations were spot on to make sure we had the results we were looking for. He was prompt, courteous and the ultimate professional! He respected the products, our time, deadlines and our home. He managed our expectations perfectly in terms of timing, availability and budget. Ali transformed our old laundry room into an attractive work space. Given that it was an unfinished basement room, it is not a work environment to inspire anyone's artistic endeavor. I was pleasantly surprised at the level of creative effort exhibited by Ali. He worked diligently for more than 8 days, showing up early each morning and putting in long days. I believe him to be honest and competent, the two most important qualities in my opinion. Plus I enjoyed getting to know him as a person. He has decades of experience setting tile, and it shows. This was a convoluted work environment that easily would have confounded a less experienced craftsman.

Superbly. We trusted not just our bathroom but our home to Ali - whether we were present or on errands. He works quietly, precisely, masterly. His aesthetic sense is right on target - he convinced us to shift the direction of the floor tile, and it looks much better than was planned. His artistic sense about the insets in the shower was also spot on. He is very kind (to family and pets) and is a highly skilled gentleman. You can trust his workmanship and price. Highly recommended. His services were part of a master rework of the bathroom, so don't have his individual cost information.

We renovated our kitchen a few years ago and just decided to get the backsplash done. We had selected the subway tile and an accent tile. When Ali came to give us an estimate, he suggested a different mosaic sample for the trim. His sample Mosaic was a better accent as it blended well with the colors in the granite counter tops.
