Nancy (rental agent) is very professional and always right on time. Great communication. We looked at other companies, but we liked that this company was a little smaller with a more personal touch. All of the people with NVRM have worked with the company a long time and are therefore more invested in seeing everyone happy. Really a Landlord's dream!

We worked with Nancy and Lynn specifically. We would not have remained sane without them. Nancy really went above and beyond day in and day out, providing suggestions for work to be done, recommending handymen, and managing contractors when I was unable to be home to do so. They were incredibly professional and they really did a stellar job. We had two home appraisals before we attempted to sell the home, both came in around 470k-480k. Nancy and Lynn felt that those estimates were way below the value of the home, so we went in at $520k. We got three asking price offers in the first weekend of showing. If you are selling your house in the Burke/Fairfax area and you don't use these folks, you are leaving money on the table.

We cannot say enough positive things about Nancy and the rest of Lucinda's team. They were excellent in all of our communications and their customer service. They went above and beyond in all that we asked of them and they gave us a sense of peace in an otherwise stressful situation. We give Lucinda and her team our strongest endorsement as property managers and they will be the gold standard that we use for what a property manager should be.

I went in with a friend and bought a townhouse in the Kingstowne area in December of 2005 (height of the market). Soon after the market crashed, and my smart investment turned into an underwater property that tethered me and the co-owner to it. After about 5 years, it was time for everyone to move on with their lives, except for the fact that we were still underwater on the house. After 2 years of renting rooms to multiple people/friends it was finally time to sell the house. Best case scenario for me at this point was just to break even and be able to walk away without owing the bank. As I started to look for a realtor, a friend referred Nancy Balchunas to me; I got in touch with her and explained the situation. She came in, looked at the house and said she would be in touch shortly with an action plan. A few days later we met again, and she set very realistic expectations on what she could do based on comps in the area and home refresh recommendations. She is incredibly knowledgable in her market assessments and buyer behavior- everything she said (regardless if I wanted to hear it or not) was on point and she was able to expertly explain her thought process behind each recommendation and decision. I did make all of the refresh changes/updates that she suggested, down to the wall color and light fixtures. Once everything was completed and the house was ready to list, she held an open house that first Saturday and received an offer on the house. A couple who was returning from oversees and had been searching for a home in the area for quite awhile. Their realtor recognized Lucinda's name, got in touch with Nancy and she was able to work out the details of the contract. Negotiations were minimal and efficient, and the house sold for exactly the price point that Nancy had recommended we list it at. She had very objective conversations with us about pricing the house to sell, not letting it linger on the market for weeks because you want that extra $5,000. Amazingly, we had a contract within 24 hours of being on the market, closed in under 3 weeks, and both my co-owner and I walked away with cash in our pocket. I just used Nancy again to purchase my next house, and I was one of three offers on the house; Nancy's expert negotiations and overall professionalism helped me beat out two other offers without getting into a bidding war and paying over list price. I will continue to use Nancy as long as I buy property.

It was a wonderful experience in all aspects, first renting out our house to a perfect family as well as managing it, selling our house in record time, and finding us a nice house to rent when we returned to the DC area.

We like her. We trust her. The house which we are living in now is the one that we found through Lucinda, and we are extremely happy here. We used her services a few years ago to help us rent our old house and when the time came to sell it, she also sold it for us very quickly. We are very happy with her services. It’s an excellent company. Her employee helped us put together all the offers we got before we moved into this place. They are the first persons I would call when I need a home again. I like my whole experience with Lucinda. I would use her services in the future too.

We were trying to rent a house. We tried to call them but they never returned the phone calls. We finally got the property from the owners and we had to deal with them. When they did the initial walk through, they didn't explain about changing the air filters which was very important. They didn't give a lot of information on the security. When we moved out from there it took over a month for them to return our deposit. I wasn't impressed by them. I don't think we had to wait for them. They were professional and punctual. We kept calling for our money and eventually we got it back.

Truly an outstanding experience. I was looking for someone who would give me the freedom to select the homes I wanted to look at and to give me control of the process while at the same time being easily accessible and providing suggestions and recommendations when necessary. The process took a little longer than anticipated because lender requirements were changing on almost a weekly basis. Nonetheless, she remained patient and committed to staying with me until I found a property that I was truly happy with. She was also able to answer all my questions (regarding the contract, addendum's, financing, etc) in a timely fashion. I hope to use her for all my future purchases and strongly recommend her to any first time home buyer or investor.

We were very impressed with the professionalism of Lucinda and Nancy, and especially Nancy's dedication and incredibly hard work. We were not the easier costumers to work with, but Nancy was always available to work with us, keep us comfortable, and go above and beyond every step of the home buying process. They have good connections, are very knowledgeable, have good advice, and are incredibly patient and kind. We are now very happy with the place we got and would highly recommend Lucinda and Nancy. Also, they took it upon themselves to help us with the process of renting out our old house. They do property management as well, but I couldn't find that category here. Even though the house we were renting was well out of their geographical range, and probably should have passed the job onto someone else, they did an incredible job helping us find a tenant. We are certain that without them, we would still be looking even now. I really do strongly recommend Lucinda and Nancy.

I received Nancy's name from a friend. I was living in Colorado and needed to find a home fast in Virginia. I was only able to look at the internet and make a couple of quick trips to look at homes. Nancy drove all the way from Prince William county to Ashburn and drove me to over 30 homes. She is also a very astute negotiator as well as very thorough when looking over homes and doing research for comparables. She helped me find a great home and close on it in 2 weeks. She would even drive to the homes while I wasn't there to answer questions for me over the phone as well as send digital photos if I wasn't in town.
